CHAPTER 57: CHAPTER 57: PULLING CONNECTIONS

There was no further reply to her message, and her attention was drawn to another piece of news: Hans Montrose would be returning in a month and had won the Golden Horse Best Actor award.

Thinking of Hans Montrose, Melody Thorne’s eyes softened a little. In her past life, Hans Montrose did a lot for her, even losing his life, and yet she selfishly thought it was only natural.

Melody Thorne glanced at the time. She had to go to school today for an important examination. If she passed this one, obtaining her diploma would be no problem at all.

After leaving the villa, Melody Thorne couldn’t find a low-profile car to drive in Jared Quinn’s garage, so she ended up taking a taxi to school.

"Melody"

As soon as she got out of the car, she heard a familiar voice. Ivy hurried over to her, grabbing her arm tearfully, "Melody, why are you only getting here now? I spoke with Jared on your behalf yesterday, and he actually told me not to go to Quinn Villa anymore. I might not be able to accompany you there anymore."

"Is that so?" Melody Thorne calmly removed her arm, slightly lifting the corners of her mouth, "For your own safety, it’s better you don’t go. If you did, he might lose his temper, and you might have to be carried out by the butler."

"Ivy ’!!’."

How could she not go to Quinn Villa? How else could she have the chance to get close to Jared Quinn?

"So, you shouldn’t go there anymore," Melody Thorne concluded seriously.

"Melody, what if something happens to you and I’m not there? If I were there, it would be different. I could help you," Ivy said, trying to convince her with a sullen face.

"Is that so?" Melody Thorne lowered her eyes and started walking towards the school. If the time was right, Ivy would be the first one she would deal with.

"Exactly," Ivy followed her, her smile suspiciously fake, especially with the heavy powder on her face that made her look a bit creepy.

Screams suddenly erupted around them, drawing both their attention.

"It’s Director Irving."

"Director Irving actually came to our school."

"Oh my god, he must be here for casting."

Director Irving got out of the car, and the surrounding students were all screaming enthusiastically, each scream louder than the last, hoping to gain Director Irving’s attention through sheer volume.

"Uncle Irving," Ivy called out in a friendly manner, jogging over to him.

The girls around could only watch, full of envy, wishing they had a background like Ivy’s. It was a given that Ivy would have a role in this casting; maybe even landing the lead female role.

Melody Thorne raised her pretty eyebrows in surprise. In her past life, Director Irving came to their school for casting after graduation, choosing actors based on their grades and performance.

This time, he’d come early.

"Director Irving," Melody Thorne walked over too, but she addressed him formally as Director Irving instead of using familial terms, knowing that people with status disliked overt familiarity in public.

Ivy’s earlier shout of "Uncle" and her smug glance around had already made Director Irving’s face darken somewhat.

The last time Irving had met Melody Thorne, he was impressed by her, so he remembered her. Now seeing her address him respectfully without trying to curry favor, his impression of her improved further.
