My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!
Chapter 58: Low-Key to the Extreme
CHAPTER 58: CHAPTER 58: LOW-KEY TO THE EXTREME
A temporary film set was constructed inside the school, and all the final year students of Axton had to participate. Today, Yu Qian just came to have a look at the newly built venue; the casting call for actors would be held here in three days.
This morning, Melody Thorne underwent an assessment, and she was the first student to turn in her test paper. As she left the school, the She-Devil was still glaring at her with a stern face. Thinking that Timmy had been taken away by Old Man Quinn, she detoured to a dessert shop and ordered two desserts to eat. Her eyes suddenly caught sight of a divorce processing center’s hall ahead.
She pondered over her current situation with Jared Quinn. If she proposed a divorce from Jared now, would his pride take such a blow that he might kill her? And what about Timmy? Wouldn’t she be able to see him anymore in the future?
At least now is not the right time.
Suddenly, she noticed Caleb’s figure in a bar. He appeared with Ivy and a few of her gold-digging girlfriends. She saw someone among those women casually leaning on Caleb, and others making advances towards him.
Of course, if it weren’t for Caleb’s garish painted face and outfit, he would look tall and striking, an incredibly seductive man.
However, he didn’t manage to outsmart the old fox of The Adler Family in his previous life. She forgot how he eventually died; it was tragic, anyway. At that time, everyone said he experienced hallucinations and committed suicide due to drug use.
Watching Caleb follow Ivy and the others inside, Melody considered whether to warn him, as it’s likely Ivy would make a move on him. If he died, wouldn’t she lose another potential partner?
With this thought, Melody followed them. She picked a concealed spot to sit down, while Ivy and her group chose a place with almost no lighting, veiled in darkness. Her group of girlfriends were all seated, only Caleb was standing, leaning against the wall beside the sofa.
Even from a distance, Melody could sense Caleb’s garish painted face was now undoubtedly cloudy.
Yet another fearless woman walked over to him, leaning against him as if desperately craving a man, scheming, "Ladies, what do you say we wash off his makeup and make him strip for some sexy dancing?"
"Pfft," Melody spat out the cake from her mouth.
"His face was disfigured by burns since childhood, you’d better not look," Ivy spoke faintly, "but entertaining yourselves with his body isn’t a problem."
"What a buzzkill," the woman still persisted, "How about this, dimwit, let me teach you how to dance?"
From some distance away, Melody seemed to see the woman’s hand slipping into Caleb’s clothes. Her eye twitched slightly; he truly was quite lucky with women. Despite keeping the lowest profile possible, even pretending to be simple-minded, those women still noticed him.
Just as she was about to enjoy the show, suddenly she saw Caleb lift his head, seemingly having noticed her.
Then Caleb moved and entered the dance floor with that woman, followed by the woman’s scream. What was originally an aquarium used for performances in the nightclub somehow ended up with the woman inside it, surrounded by myriad swimming fish.
Ivy and her group ran over in a panic.
Melody walked up to the bar corridor and, sure enough, came across Caleb leaning against the wall smoking a cigarette, his face extremely gloomy.
PS: Do you guys think we should have our dimwit Caleb as our second male lead? There’s still a bewitching, beautiful man yet to appear.
