CHAPTER 97: CHAPTER 97: WHAT KIND OF MASTER DO YOU WANT TO BE?

"Alright, go get ready. It’s not like we haven’t done this before," Mrs. Quinn interrupted the butler. "This time, Ivy has been chosen as the leading lady by Director Irving. It’s only right for us to celebrate for her."

"Yes, yes."

"Melody, I’m sorry to trouble you to stay in the kitchen again to help us prepare the food for the party. You know, I’ve always thought your cooking is excellent," Ivy raised her head, a trace of smugness in her eyes.

Because she saved Jared Quinn when they were children, Mrs. Quinn treated her exceptionally well. If it weren’t for Mr. Quinn, she’d be Mrs. Quinn’s ideal choice.

So, after Melody Thorne married into the family, Mrs. Quinn saw that her son didn’t like Melody Thorne, so she still hoped for Ivy to replace Melody Thorne’s position.

Even many of Ivy’s private parties were held at the Quinn Family’s place.

And during every party they held, she had to hide in the kitchen to prepare the food because her situation with Jared couldn’t be exposed.

"That might be a bit inconvenient," Melody Thorne raised her hand slightly. "I’m not feeling well today and can’t help you prepare. Also, I’m feeling a bit dizzy, so I hope it won’t be too noisy. I think The Adler Family’s so big a yard is enough for you to host, right? Why must it be at our place?"

Ivy’s face turned pale, then red. She had brought Mrs. Quinn here specifically to humiliate Melody Thorne and tell her that this place would be hers sooner or later, but she hadn’t even started before she was humiliated.

"What kind of talk is that, where could a party not be noisy? I’m the one who asked for it to be held here," Mrs. Quinn was also displeased immediately. "Maybe you should go back to the hospital for a couple more days?"

"I also find it too noisy here!" Little Timmy came downstairs, his small face cold. He walked over to Melody Thorne and spread his arms for a hug. "Melody, that woman is so annoying. She has a home herself but insists on coming to ours."

Ivy’s face became even grimmer, being openly told she was hated by a child.

Melody Thorne picked him up, comforting Timmy, "How about I take you out to watch a movie later, or maybe to the amusement park? If they want to stay here, let them. Whoever cares, we can just let them have it."

She turned and left holding Timmy. She had long ceased to care for this place. Marrying into this family felt like an empty shell, and the outside air felt fresher.

"What do you mean?" Jared Quinn blocked their path, looking down coldly at the large and small figure before him. "If you don’t care for this place, what do you care for?"

Melody Thorne let out a mocking laugh, "I’ll care for whatever I want, better than being ordered around on my own turf yet unable to call the shots."

"What do you want to be in charge of?" he tightened his lips.

"You clearly know why I hate her so much. You know who keeps laying hands on me, yet you still protect and condone her. Isn’t it perfect now that I’m giving you all some space?"

Their voices were low, and the hall was a bit noisy, so Ivy didn’t hear what they were saying, but instinctively felt it had something to do with her. She immediately tugged at her shoulder strap, revealing a scar.

"Butler!" Jared Quinn shouted angrily.

Everyone in the bustling hall stopped what they were doing, even Mrs. Quinn and Ivy were suddenly startled.
