CHAPTER 525: CHAPTER 523: COLLUDING WITH EACH OTHER IN A SHAMEFUL MANNER
The art studio only had one door, shaped in an irregular form, without any windows designed for the hallway, so one couldn’t see inside the studio from the outside at all.
Located on the second floor of the arts building, the studio sat squarely in the middle, neither at the top nor the bottom.
No lights were on in the hallway, with only strands of sunlight filtering through the window at the end of the corridor, casting a sliver of brightness into the abyss.
The place where they stood was as shadowy as hell itself.
Qi Ming furrowed his brows, surveying the eerie surroundings, "Why is this place so creepy?"
After he said this, he realized that Wen Qiao, Shi Koufan, and the cameraman following them had all fallen into an unspoken silence, standing still and staring behind him.
If not for the blinking red light on the camera lens, Qi Ming would have almost mistaken them for wax figures.
"Why aren’t you all speaking?"
"....."
No one responded to him.
Qi Ming’s brows deepened further. He extended his index finger and poked Wen Qiao, who was facing away from him, "Why did you suddenly fall silent?"
"Shh." Wen Qiao put a finger to her lips, "Did you hear that sound?"
Qi Ming’s nerves tensed, "What sound?"
Shi Koufan slightly furrowed his brow and continued, "A woman’s voice."
Qi Ming felt the chills on his scalp, "I didn’t hear anything."
"It sounded like crying—screaming for help," Wen Qiao perked up her ears, listening intently, "It’s like they’re calling for help, begging for someone to save them—Ah!"
As Wen Qiao reached the end of her sentence, she suddenly let out a loud "Ah," followed within a second by a soaring male tenor.
"Aaaaah! There’s a ghost! Mommy!"
Qi Ming’s eyes were tightly closed as he clutched the person in his arms, with high notes belting out from his throat so powerfully that the cameraman took a few steps back.
Seeing Qi Ming’s trembling voice from fear, Wen Qiao couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
Hearing the laughter, Qi Ming’s high notes grew weaker. He tilted his head to listen for a moment, and before he could open his eyes, he felt a pat on his arm.
Instinctively, he hugged the person in his arms tighter, then heard a familiar male voice, "Qiaoqiao was just scaring you, it’s all right now."
Qi Ming suddenly opened his eyes and saw Shi Koufan’s face close to his, eyes wide, "Why are you getting so close to me?"
Shi Koufan looked at him speechlessly, "You’ll understand what you’re doing if you look at yourself right now."
Reminded by him, Qi Ming realized that in his panic, he had grabbed Shi Koufan and even lifted a leg to drape over Shi Koufan’s body.
Once he became aware of this, Qi Ming released Shi Koufan in an instant, leaping away to a distance three steps away.
Wen Qiao took delight in his misfortune, "How come you still haven’t gotten braver?"
"You must be sick," Qi Ming stomped his feet in frustration, "What are you pretending to be, conjuring up ghosts when everything is fine!"
Wen Qiao shrugged her shoulders, "Had you not mentioned that you felt something ominous here, I wouldn’t have thought to scare you. I just didn’t expect Shi Koufan and the cameraman would play along so well with me."
Shi Koufan smiled at Wen Qiao, "The moment you spoke, I guessed what you were gonna do."
Qi Ming’s trembling finger oscillated between the two of them before he finally squeezed out a phrase, "In cahoots!"
