CHAPTER 370: I COMPREHENDED A LAW

The crater in the castle wall still echoed with impact when I dropped down.

Dust billowed out like smoke, and the broken edges of the collapsed wall crumbled under their own weight. For a moment, it looked like nothing could’ve survived that.

Then the dust moved.

David stepped out slowly, chest heaving, a deep line of blood dripping down his side. His shirt was torn, his gaze shadowed.

His lips curled in disgust.

"You’re copying me."

I remained unfazed and stared at the man.

My domain was already lit up with movement. Runes etched into invisible air flickered with quiet sparks. Every layer of my Essence net was now tuned to just one thing.

Repulsion.

I wanted to get it down as fast as possible. This was a great ability to have and I was enjoying using it.

The way he flexed his palm. The ripple that formed before each motion. The recoil after each burst of pressure. These weren’t just movements, they were patterns.

"I spent decades refining that Law," he said, his voice low now, furious. "You think you can just watch me once and claim it as yours?"

I replied calmly. "I don’t think. I do."

His aura exploded before he moved. The castle wall behind him shattered fully as David surged up, air cracking around his limbs. A blur of force met me in the air.

First came his fist then his knee and then a headbutt.

Each strike was laced with his Repulsion. Elegance wrapped in violence. Every blow forced the air away, compressing and exploding on contact.

I matched him, muscle for muscle.

I reinforced my skin. I coated my bones with Essence. But it wasn’t enough.

His strikes didn’t need to break my body. They rejected it.

One palm struck my shoulder. A wave of force bent my collarbone out of place and launched me sideways. My ribs cracked again. I righted myself midair, only for a second repulsion wave to slam into my back.

Boom!

I was flung into another building, glass and steel screaming around me.

But even through the pain, I didn’t stop observing.

Physically, I was way stronger than David. My stats were something he could not match but his understanding of the law tilted the end result in his favor, at least for now.

My domain stayed active and I activated [Right To Insight].

The runes pulsed. Each time David struck, new runes glowed in my eyes and showed me how the man was using it.

I coughed blood, my vision blurry, but the energy wasn’t wasted. My Psynapse surged. And the—

Something clicked.

It wasn’t sudden, more like the quiet sound of a lock turning after searching for the right key.

[Minor Law of Repulsion – Level 2]

I felt it. The law felt like it was something that I was familiar with for decades.

Like I had always known how to use it... but was now finally strong enough to will it into being.

I slowed in midair, breath steady, blood trickling down my jaw.

David charged again, twisting mid-flight, his foot a blur.

This time, I met him fully.

His foot came toward my chest, Repulsion pulsing off it like a wave.

I didn’t dodge.

I met it with my palm. Not to block but to reject.

My Repulsion against his.

Boom!

The two forces collided and for the first time, his didn’t overwhelm mine.

The air didn’t push me back. The shockwave expanded in both directions, forming a violent sphere that cracked windows and walls.

David’s eyes widened.

I launched forward, my hands now shrouded in faint silver lines, each one charged with a concentrated blast of repelling force.

I struck out.

Left punch—Repulsion.

Right elbow—Repulsion.

Knee to the ribs—Repulsion.

Every motion didn’t just hit, it pushed. Pushed against him. Pushed against his own force.

David’s footing faltered.

"What—?" he gasped, dodging a punch that tore open the air beside his cheek.

"Thank you dear David. I will remember you." I said, voice quiet.

He growled and pushed both hands forward, releasing a giant spherical wave of pure Repulsion at close range.

And I matched it.

I released my own wave, fused with Essence, shaped by my own understanding of the Law.

The two forces slammed into each other midair, two invisible storms meeting with a soundless boom. The surrounding wind froze. Particles scattered in all directions.

And David was pushed back.

He blinked in disbelief, catching himself midair.

"That’s... not possible," he muttered. "You were just—"

"Watching," I said. "That’s all I needed."

I shifted my stance, both fists drawn back now, humming with raw repelling energy. My muscles tightened. Lightning danced in my spine.

He looked at me, really looked this time. Not as someone beneath him, but as someone dangerous.

His expression darkened.

I shifted my focus inward, toward the generator core. The Essence was dropping fast, Node 3 was burning through it like wildfire.

Fatigue was creeping in. Just a little for now, but I could feel it starting to build.

I tilted slightly forward, my wings flaring wide. Then a wave of Repulsion blasted from me.

A silver shimmer coated my body as I applied the law to myself. The force erupted behind me, a concentrated blast that sent me flying forward like a missile. My wings folded in to sharpen my path, and in a blink, I was above him.

David barely had time to look up.

I spun mid-air, twisting my body with perfect control, and brought my leg down in a brutal arc. My foot glowed, coated in compressed silver Essence, wrapped in the repulsion law itself, twisting the space around it. The air cracked and hissed around my descending heel.

David’s eyes flared. He let out a short roar and slammed his fist upward, his own repulsion coating his knuckles in a silver pulse.

Our strikes met.

BOOM!

A shockwave tore out in every direction, distorting the air with overlapping pulses of force. The world blinked white for a second.

His repulsion pushed against mine, two waves colliding in midair but I didn’t stop. My strength was greater. My angle sharper. My will heavier.

Cracks rippled in the air between us, and then his wave broke.

David was flung down like a meteor. He smashed into the same crater he’d formed earlier, stone and dust exploding outward as he hit the ground with a massive thud.

I hovered above, chest heaving, silver Essence swirling around my legs. My eyes burned with focus.

I was enjoying throwing this man around.
