CHAPTER 79: VISION MERCEDES-MAYBACH 6 CABRIOLET IMPERIUM

The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Concept was unveiled in 2017 as a concept car. It was supposed to be an all electric car with a huge battery pack and futuristic range specs.

But that was the original. Liam’s Cabriolet Imperium isn’t electric. Instead, it features a hand-built 6.75L V12 Twin-Turbo engine called the Maybach Sovereign V12.

The engine gives the car 720 hp with a torque of ~950 Nm (700 lb-ft) available from very low RPMs, allowing it to go from 0–60 mph in 4.5 seconds. With its top speed electronically limited to 180 mph.

For the transmission, 8-speed automatic tuned for seamless wafting, with an optional "Sovereign Mode" for slightly sharper response. Rear-wheel drive, but with next-gen stability management to keep the ride composed. Tuned Maybach Resonance Exhaust — deep baritone growl at idle, thunderous yet refined when pushed.

The car has an integrated driving AI that can fully chauffeur the car or subtly assist,featuring adaptive navigation, hazard anticipation, active lane change.

Hydro-magnetic suspension system uses predictive road scanning with magnetorheological dampers, giving "flying carpet" smoothness.

Noise-Cancellation Bubble with active soundproofing inside cabin — at 150 mph, it feels like a quiet lounge.

Luxury capsule mode that can be activated with one touch allowing the crystal-clear electrochromic glass roof to tint instantly from transparent to midnight black, shifting the interior lighting and creating a coccon like feeling for the passengers.

The exterior of the car doesn’t look any different from the original except that it features the system’s custom paintwork style — Obsidian Onyx Black base with subtle platinum micro-flakes that shimmer in sunlight, paired with a hand-painted platinum pinstripe running from hood to trunk.

Every other part of the exterior that had alloy was replaced with platinum and a touch of obsidian, except for the grille which follows Maybach style but with just platinum.

For the interior, the car features four-seat 2+2 layout with the rear seats being lounge-like, and not cramped.

This was another unique part of the car as the original comes with just two seats. For Liam’s Cabriolet Imperium, this is where the extended 6-meter length now truly pays off because the rear section has full Maybach lounge chairs, reclinable with calf support, massage, and fold-out walnut veneer tables.

More of the car’s unique interior design includes hand-stitched Arctic White leather with platinum thread embroidery, diamond-quilted with Maybach crests.

Its trim being made of makassar ebony wood, brushed platinum accents, and backlit crystal inlays along the doors.

Minimalist dashboard dominated by a sweeping OLED panel that blends seamlessly into the dash, with touch-haptic platinum dials for tactile control.

Ambient Lighting from the fiber-optic threads woven into the leather seams, customizable with starlight effect.

Sonus Faber × Maybach co-designed sound system with hidden resonance chambers in the body panels giving it a concert-hall quality.

The car also features a large a champagne compartment with cooled, motorized, with hand-blown crystal flutes. And an integrated personal safe with fingerprint & retinal scan access, embedded between rear seats.

And the cost for this extreme opulence? $12m!

Cheap? Think again. While the car isn’t as expensive as the Bugatti La Voiture Noire or the Rolls Royce Droptail, it doesn’t mean that it’s any less than them.

If anything at all, the Cabriolet Imperium was on the same level with the even with its low price tag. In fact, the car was priceless.

And just as all other one-offs, Maybach is under heavy NDAs.

"Wow! I’m not getting one-offs every week. This is insane!" Liam muttered in shock.

He would be lying if he said that he wasn’t curious about the system was doing the one-off commissions.

What he was more especially more curious about was the Flying Palace and its three-car garage space. He had thought about it and felt like that amount of space should be impossible with all the features the aircraft was already packing.

There was also the weight to consider. If he’s to park three cars in garage, he doubts the aircraft would be able to take off.

Unless... Unless the system has a hand in it. And what he meant in that sense was that the system expanded the interior of the aircraft beyond normal, while keeping the exterior as it is and it also added some weight suspension mechanism to it.

This was the only way something like the Flying Palace with all its features can be possible. Without that, it would only just remain a plan on a drawing board as it has been for more than a decade.

System, you’re really spoiling me too much. How am I ever going to see $1m as a lot of money again? You have ruined my sense of money. How am I supposed to live a normal life from now on?, Liam cried internally.

If Bellemere Mansion and the McLaren P1 LM-X wasn’t enough to make global medias like Forbes and Bloomberg take notice of him, then aircraft would do the trick.

This time, they won’t just publish an article to go with the trend. They will actually investigate him deeply and they will find out about the yacht, the chopper, his equity portfolio value of more than $116b and every other public physical assets he has, excluding the bearer bond.

And the result of the investigation will be that he will get his own profile on the document world’s richest people ranking and also on the youngest billionaire ranking.

He will become the youngest on both ranking due to his age, 18, and the richest on the youngest billionaire ranking and top 11 on the general billionaire ranking due to his equity portfolio value.

He can already imagine the sort of chaos all of this would cause. He will probably have multiple online medias hanging around Bellemere Mansion in the coming days, and he will most definitely be getting interview requests from all of them.

They will want him to give a grant an interview and they will ask him questions like how someone like him was able to amass so much wealth at such a young age and in such a short time.

Then they will expect him to cook up some bullsh*t story like he worked hard and achieved his success. But who the h*ll would actually believe that?

Worked hard? If it was by that, then almost everyone will be on the billionaire ranking.

Aye, aye, aye. Seems like I’m cooked!

Liam cried internally again.

He just can’t imagine what his life going forward would be like. He naturally won’t embrace the publicity as he doesn’t want to give the public any opportunity to scrutinize his life.

And luckily for him and thanks to the system that put him in his current situation in the first place, he now has a way to temporarily escape the coming drama.

"Time to check it out," he said to himself and got up into a sitting position.

Liam slowly stood up from the bed and stepped forward and through the rippling space, and the world folded around him in silence.

Changed the name of the car to match its one-off status.
