My Ultimate Sign-in System Made Me Invincible
Chapter 82: Lucy
CHAPTER 82: LUCY
The next morning.
Liam stepped into his room and walked to his bed, where his laptop was waiting. He was just with breakfast and was about to start his day.
Due to how hectic and also wonderful last night was, he allowed himself to sleep in and he woke up pretty late.
His plans for today was actually pretty simple; use the time difference between Dimensional Space’s and the real world to accelerate the AGI’s training.
Liam actually has no idea if it will but he felt it should. His Splunge laptop already has petascale computing power, zero-point energy, and self-contained internet infrastructure.
"Since it doesn’t need to connect to Earth’s internet, then it should probably work," Liam said to himself, as he pitcked up the laptop.
He was about to enter the Dimensional Space but he stopped himself. There was something he was actually curious about; the access point.
System, tell me more about the access point and if I have to step through the ripple every time I want to go in and out of the Dimensional Space.
[No, Host. You don’t have to step through the ripple to access or exit the Dimensional Space. You can simply think of jumping into it and you will be teleported inside. Same as when you want to exit it.]
"I see... That’s more convenient. Way better than going through the ripple," Liam muttered softly.
"Tell me more about the access point."
[Assigning an access point is a means of anchoring the Dimensional Space to Earth. With just one access point, you can jump in and out of the space from anywhere in the world, but there is a condition.]
"What is the condition?"
[You must have a clear mental image of where you’re jumping to when exiting the space. If not, you might jump and find yourself stuck in a dangerous place.]
Liam nodded slowly as he listened to what the system said. He immediately understood it as it reminded him of one particular movie he watched growing up.
"So, if I’m correct, the ripple registered my previous position on Earth so that I don’t have to worry about the whole mental image thing?" He asked in confirmation.
[Correct, Host.]
"Again, pretty convenient. But I prefer the jumping," he muttered to himself.
He wasn’t worried about the mental image thing as he has the [Perfect Memory] skill and his brain has been enhanced. So, 2-factor authentication.
"So, to confirm something else, system. If I jump into the space from my current position, I can jump out of it to another position? Say, my penthouse at Blue Valley Residential Complex for example."
[Affirmative, Host.]
"Neat. Neat. I just indirectly gain myself a pretty good ability; teleportation. What a gain!" Liam laughed softly.
He can’t wait to try it out but he held himself back. The AGI comes first for now. And he also has other things to do. He also hasn’t signed-in for the day.
"Okay. Enough waiting around. Time to get to work," he said, as he picked up his phone and put it in his pocket.
He exhaled softly, held his laptop tightly in his hand, took a deep breath and thought about jumping into the Dimensional Space.
Immediately, he vanished from the spot with a fast, ripping whoosh sound.
***
hhhaahh!
Liam gasped sharply as he appeared in the Dimensional Space.
"Wow! That was awesome! So f*cking cool!" He said to himself, reeling from the excitement of what he had just experienced.
"The movement is pretty neat too. No disorientation," he muttered to himself, as he looked around the endless wasteland around him.
He had expected to experience maybe disorientation or migraine due to the violent movement of tearing through space-time. But he was perfectly fine.
Actually the reason for this was because of Liam’s enhanced body. If not, his first couple of time, he would definitely experience the migraine and disorientation.
Of course, Liam had no idea of this as he thought the reason was because the space is the system’s function — which is exactly wrong either.
Liam looked at the molecular assembler and he smiled when he saw that it was still hovering there where he had left it. He walked towards the long obsidian table that some items were placed on. This was the items in the inventory.
He pushed the documents aside and places his laptop on the table. Since this was the only platform here, it was the only thing he could use.
Wait a minute... I can bring things into the space. Why stress myself like this?
Thinking about this, Liam decided to jump to his penthouse’s bedroom. There’s a good chair and desk he could use there.
Yes, there was an even better chair and desk in the study of Bellemere Mansion, but he can’t take that one as the staffs would notice and become suspicious.
Yes, it’s his house but they are the one in charge of taking care of it. Everything in that house is of high value and if any of them goes missing, they will want to take responsibility for it. And Liam doesn’t want to create an awkward situation.
Liam exhaled softly and smiled as a crystal clear mental image of the bedroom appeared in his mind and he thought of jumping there.
The next moment, he vanished from his spot and he appeared in the penthouse’s bedroom.
"Hehehe!!! Amazing!" Liam laughed childishly.
He was like a kid that had just found a new best toy.
But he didn’t allow himself to get carried away as he walked towards the chair and desk. He took a look at his old bedroom and he smiled with a look of nostalgia.
This was the first property he got from the system. In a way, this was where everything started for him.
Liam smile widened as he picked up the chair and desk easily — not to his own surprise. He thought of teleporting to the Dimensional Space, and he vanished from his spot, and aappeared in the wasteland.
He placed the chair and desk on the ground, setting them properly beside the long, obsidian table.
He picked up the laptop and places it on the desk, and opened it. The screen lit up and the AGI chat box with the progress bar was displayed.
The AGI had already completed its language training and it was time to put it to the test.
Liam settled into the chair comfortably. He intends to test the AGI and see how good its communication skills is after the training.
He wasn’t hoping for much but he still has high expectations as it’s an AGI that’s at least a century ahead anything on Earth.
With the benefit of the time difference between the Dimensional Space and the real world, Liam can take his time with the test. Also, he had already informed Evelyn and told her not to disturb him for any reason.
"Now, let’s get started," he muttered to himself and typed into the chat box.
"Hello."
The next moment, a sweet and crisp feminine voice came from the laptop’s speaker.
"Hi, sir. I’ve waiting. I’m Lucy. Thanks for creating me and I intend to serve you to the best of my ability. Please guide me, and I’ll learn whatever you need me to."
Liam smiled widely and nodded in satisfaction when he heard the AGI’s response.
It’s already gave itself a name and can use text to speech perfectly. Perfect.
