CHAPTER 84: MAKING AN OFFER (BONUS CHAPTER)

"This is Captain Adler, sir. Chief pilot of your Airbus A380 Flying Palace."

Liam sat up instantly when the man introduced himself. He had actually been expecting the Captain Adler’s call, as he wanted to familiarise himself with the whoever it was.

"I wanted to reach out personally," Adler continued smoothly, "to introduce myself and assure you that the aircraft and full crew are at your disposal. Hangar 14 at the Imperial Terminal has been secured, with all support staff stationed on-site. Everything is operational and ready whenever you decide to make use of her."

"I appreciate the call, Captain. Thank you for letting me know," Liam said.

"It’s our honor, sir," Adler replied. "At your convenience, we can arrange a familiarization tour — walk you through the decks, introduce the senior crew, and confirm any personal preferences you’d like in terms of flight protocols. Until then, rest assured everything is maintained and flight-ready."

Liam exhaled slowly and nodded slightly to himself.

"I’ll be in touch soon, Captain. Thank you again."

"Of course, sir. Welcome aboard," Captain Adler said, and the line clicked off.

Liam looked at his phone for a moment and smiled. He really wants to go on the familiarisation tour immediately but he held himself back, as he knew that he will have all the time in the world to do that at a later date.

But for now? He has a more pressing matter; Lucy. And he wasn’t ready to expose himself yet.

Talking about exposing him, Liam thought of something.

Should I tell Daniel about the aircraft and have him coordinate with Captain Adler?

Daniel’s role is to handle all the external logistics and cover. Even though the system prepaid everything for the aircraft and Liam’s wants to keep it under wraps for now, the existence of a one-off private Airbus A380 can’t stay invisible forever.

Also, Liam felt that since the aircraft would get exposed anyway, he should just tell Daniel about it.

Besides, he will need Daniel to handle permissions, flight clearances, and optics.

For example, when flying into major airports, even with NDAs, authorities will demand flight plans, ground services, hangar coordination, and discreet explanations. Those things weren’t handled by the system. That’s Daniel’s world.

Also, Daniel is already the one managing Bellemere Mansion, the Nevada base, and the holding company. Adding the Flying Palace under his coordination will make things easier for Liam.

Most importantly, Daniel can shield Liam from suspicion. Like when Forbes, Bloomberg, or even governments start asking questions like "How can an 18-year-old afford this aircraft?", Daniel can spin stories to deflect or cover.

Yes, Lucy can also be taking care of this when she’s finally done with her training — which will be before evening. Especially the last part. But Liam prefers Daniel to handle it.

He’s his more like his Chief of Staff or Managing Director, and he also has the resources of JP Morgan to back him up.

Yes, Lucy will control the digital world but the truth is that she’s still learning, and Liam needs her for far more important things than those inconsequential little chaos.

With this thoughts, Liam’s decision was made. He decided to call Captain Adler back first before contacting Daniel.

The call went through and it barely rang, before it was picked.

"Mr. Scott," Captain Adler’s voice came from the other end.

"Yes, Captain Adler. I would like you to coordinate with my Chief of Staff. He will contact you soon. And he will be the one that will be handling everything you need in the future," Liam said.

"Ok, sir. I will be expecting his call. Thanks for informing me."

"No problem," Liam said and hung up.

He couldn’t help but smile when he remembered what he called Daniel.

Chief of Staff. That’s quite a title.

But it was actually the truth. Everything that Daniel’s been handling for him goes well beyond the role of a "Private Banker."

Liam felt that maybe it was high time he employs Daniel, have him set up a Family Office that will oversee everything and make him the Managing Director of it.

This is exactly what ultra-wealthy individuals and dynasties like the Rockefellers, Rothschilds, Waltons, Gates, Bezos, Arnault and others do. They all operate through Family Offices.

These entities consolidate all assets, investments, staff, and logistics under one legal/financial umbrella. They allow full discretion while shielding the principal from day-to-day noise — which in this case is Liam.

It should work. I mean... It should, right? Liam thought to himself.

He decided not to overthink it. He dialed do Daniel’s number and the call went through, and was picked immediately.

"Mr. Scott. I’ve already started the procurement process. We should get replys from the companies soon and logistics will start transportating the material to a warehouse close to the site in Nevada or wherever you want them stored."

"That’s perfect. Thank you," Liam nodded. "Actually, I called for something else."

"Ohhn. What is that, Mr Scott. Is there anything you need me to do?" Daniel asked.

"No. Actually, it’s nothing like that. The reason why I called is because I want to employ you personally," Liam replied.

There was a brief silence from the other side.

"I and my team are already fully devoted to you, Mr Scott. There’s no need to employ is personally or do you plan to set up a Family Office?" Daniel asked cautiously.

"Yes. You guessed it right, Daniel. I want you to set up a Family Office and I want you to manage it. A talent like yours is what I need. Yes, you’re managing everything for me but ultimately you’re still employed by JP Morgan. I want you to work for me directly."

"Everything I own, everything I’m building, is expanding faster than I ever imagined. The mansion, the Nevada base, even the companies. I need a Family Office to tie it all together. And I can’t think of anyone more capable than you to run it." Liam said and paused for a moment, before continuing what he was saying.

"I understand that you can handle easily through the channels JP Morgan controls but I believe you can also build even better ones. And money isn’t going to be a problem."

The line went silent for a while as Daniel processed everything Liam had just said. He actually found himself at loss for words as he never expected someone as young as Liam to say such things.

And he’s pretty convincing too.

Daniel would be lying if he said that he doesn’t have a lot of questions on his mind right now. And the most resounding of them all was: Why him?

The theories, rumours and conspiracies surrounding Liam’s potential background is a public secret in their circle.

But one thing remains consistent no matter the rumour, theories or conspiracies; Liam was no ordinary person and from no ordinary background either.

This was the reason why Daniel was asking the question why him. Because he felt that Liam was probably about to break free from his family and set up his own dynasty, and he needs someone to spearhead it.

So, why choose him? With someone of Liam’s background, he would already have trusted family offices, dynastic bankers, and generational advisors at his disposal.

So, why would someone like Liam personally choose him, a JP Morgan banker, out of thousands of possible candidates?

Daniel felt that Liam was probably testing him to see if he’s trustworthy enough to cross that line. Or he’s just seeing something unique in him that even Daniel doesn’t see in himself.

Don’t get it confused. Daniel has a serious level of self confidence and takes great pride in his job, but this was something else entirely.

Also, there was another question. Does he risk his stable position under JP Morgan to tie myself to this mysterious 18-year-old, who seems to be building an empire from the shadows?

Daniel thought about all of these and sighed heavily. The truth was that he can’t give a response to Liam’s offer right now. He might need to think it over.

Liam also realised this and he decided not to pressure Daniel. He want him to come work for him but he won’t force him.

"You don’t need to give me an answer now, Daniel. You can take your time and think about it. Just give me your response when you’ve made your decision," he said.

"Thank you," Daniel said.

"No problem. Let me know when the materials are ready."

"I will, Mr Scott."

"Good," Liam said and hung up.

Ahhh... That was tiring, he sighed softly.

He never expected making an offer to someone would take so much out of him. But he was really glad he did it.

Now, he will just have to wait for Daniel’s response.

And while he do that, Lucy is also waiting for him.

"Days have passed in the space. Lucy should be done with her training by now. I shook go check her progress and test," Liam muttered to himself, as placed his phone back in his pocket and teleported back into the Dimensional Space.
