CHAPTER 97: THE GAMES’ ECONOMIC SYSTEMS

Before going to sleep last night, Liam told Lucy to start working on creating a digital economy for the whole Gear Glass ecosystem.

This was part of a bigger plan of his involving the ecosystem. While the planned ecosystem can’t be released at once with the Gear Glass, Liam will take things slow and roll them out when he feels it’s time.

As for the digital economy, it will be a default part of the Gear Glass ecosystem and will immediately be available on release.

The framework for it was simple really. It’s just about creating a wallet, the digital currency to go with it and the marketplace.

On release, each user’s wallet will be given the same amount of the digital currency. This currency can be exchanged into other games’ currency.

Yes, each games have their own separate in-game economy system. Except for Terra, Genesis Sandbox and Eternal Realms, the other games didn’t have an elaborate economy.

Since Terra is an exact replica of Earth and a simulation where people can live a whole other life on Earth, it naturally needs a very elaborate in-game economy system.

With everything that Terra has to followed, it will be undoubtedly be the game with the biggest economy among them all.

As a game that offers a very extremely realistic visuals, it will be a major virtual chatting hub, as people will be happy to chat with their friends without leaving the comfort of their homes.

Not only that but the game will have business. All types of businesses will be allowed to fe operated in the game, except for the red light district business model and the illegal businesses. Liam doesn’t want to get himself into any sort of unnecessary troubles with the authorities.

He also had Lucy put in restrictions that the highest level of intimacy that can be achieved in the game is light kissing. If they try to push further like roaming their hand or trying to get undressed, the command won’t register.

Liam knew that humans have the habit of pushing things to its limit and always doing whatever in their power to have their way. And that was why he took away that power completely.

And for businesses that are allowed, it also include the real estate. Actually, this might become one of the biggest part of the game. The game’s real estate market. It will be huge.

Terra is an exact replica of Earth. All buildings and structures in it are exactly as they are in the real world. And yes, even underground structures.

Liam has exactly no idea.giw Lucy did that part but she did it. He felt that she probably hacked into some systems and stole the digital copies of the structures’ plan.

But he knew that it wasn’t all the underground and hidden structures around the world that she knew. Like the secret plans or the undocumented, there was no way for her to get her hands on those.

After Terra, the game that has the potential to have the second biggest economy is Eternal Realms. The game’s economy system is just as elaborate as Terra’s.

Gold, silver and copper coins. Continents, empires, kingdoms, guilds, dungeons filled with monsters that drops loots, myriad fantasy races, organisations and the rest.

In a way, it has an elaborate economy system than Terra. This was actually one of the part where the marketplace comes into play.

In the marketplace, players can easily trade between themselves. They can sell items from all the games.

Yes, all the games. You heard that right.

Though in Eternal Realms, players can sell their items in-game to NPCs if they want to and they will be paid in either copper, silver or gold coins. But those coins would still need to be exchanged in the marketplace.

Also, while the other games doesn’t have elaborate economy system as the big three games, their systems would still far beyond any of today.

For the football and basketball game, players can trade in-game players like the transfer market. And clubs can be sold tok.

Liam also has plan for the PvP shooter game. But the only Children Arena that will have a normal in-game economy system.

Liam woke up with a smile. He stretched lazily against the sheets, eyes still closed as memories of the night’s adventure lingered.

He had played Eternal Realms the entire time he slept, and it had been glorious.

The battles, the quests, the breathtaking immersion — it hadn’t felt like "playing" a game at all. It felt like living inside a lucid dream that went on forever.

Every moment had been seamless, as though he’d slipped into another world where his sword, his magic, and his choices carried weight.

"Good morning, sir. How was your night?"

Lucy’s sweet, steady voice filled his mind the moment his eyes fluttered open.

"Good morning, Lucy," Liam replied, sitting up with a faint chuckle. "My night was splendid. You’ve spoiled me. That game is addictive."

"I am glad you enjoyed yourself, sir," Lucy said warmly. "I also completed the tasks you gave me last night. The framework for the Gear Glass economy, marketplace integration, and wallet system has been finalized."

A grin stretched across Liam’s face. "Perfect. I’ll check it out later."

He pulled the Gear Glass from his face and set it gently on his nightstand. Then he rose and padded toward the bathroom.

The shower was refreshing, warm water cascading over his skin. He didn’t need it — his nanite-enhanced body barely ever felt fatigue or stiffness anymore — but nothing beats the feeling of warm or cold water water rushing done one’s back as their takes their morning bath.

When he emerged, dressed neatly in a crisp shirt and dark trousers, he left his room and walked downstairs

"Good morning, sir," Evelyn greeted him warmly, bowing lightly with her ever-present grace.

"Good morning, Evelyn. Good morning, girls," Liam said with equal warmth as the two younger maids echoed their greetings in soft voices.

He sat at the long dining table. Porcelain dishes were laid neatly before him, gleaming silver cutlery perfectly aligned. Today’s meal was a mix of croissants, scrambled eggs with herbs, smoked salmon, and a small side of fruit.

Liam ate quietly, savoring the flavors. It wasn’t the extravagance that pleased him. It was the care that was taken to prepare the meal. Evelyn and her team always prepared everything with love.

"Thank you, Evelyn. That was excellent, as always," he said after finishing.

"It is our pleasure, sir," she replied with a bow.

Liam rose, offering them a small smile before returning to his room.

***

He closed the bedroom door behind him and sat back on his bed. His eyes caught the Gear Glass on the nightstand, but Liam ignored it for now. He had something else to do this morning.

"System, sign-in," he said softly. "

[Ding!]

[Congratulations, Host. You received $15,000,000]

***

Just that? Not bad, I guess, Liam smiled.

He appreciated the reward. The $15m was a lot of money and it has increased his account balance to $193m.

Liam didn’t focus on that, as he picked up the Gear Glass, wore it. He wants to go check the thing he asked Lucy to do last night and if there was something else that was needed.

A few minutes later, after checking the wallet, the digital currency and the marketplace, he was really satisfied. But he noticed that there’s something’s missing.

"You noticed it too, sir," Lucy said.

"Yeah," Liam nodded. "Tell me more about it."
