CHAPTER 89: FROM CLOWN TO MARIONETTE MAID

A short while later, Dylan, Aaron, and Clara returned to the construction site in their car. The police car that had been guarding the site earlier was gone, leaving the construction area unsupervised. Dylan parked his car a little distance away in a quiet spot, then they got out and walked toward the site while remaining invisible, just in case. After jumping over the fence, they immediately ran to where Megan was waiting.

When they arrived, the three were surprised to see Megan looking completely normal, like a woman wearing casual work attire. Her face looked calm and peaceful, nothing like when she was in her clown form. When she saw Dylan, Aaron, and Clara arrive, Megan immediately floated toward them with a cheerful expression.

[She is saying thank you.]

"Oh, really? She already knows what happened?" Dylan asked.

[I gave her a screen to watch everything, and she seems satisfied.]

"That’s good. So I don’t need to explain," Dylan replied.

[She wants to come with us.]

"Huh... what?" Dylan asked.

[I have explained everything about us, and she wants to help your four wives when they give birth later, as well as help them take care of your children afterward.]

"Hmm... that makes sense," Dylan replied, thinking.

"Wait... wait... so we’re going to have one more ghost at home?" Aaron asked.

"Um... I guess it’s okay, but Big Sister Maya fainted because of Ryan yesterday," Clara added.

Suddenly, Megan squatted, though her legs were invisible, and she wrote in the dirt:

"Please let me help. I don’t want to go back. I want to repay your kindness to me. Besides, I love children, and of course, I will help take care of the babies later. Please accept me."

Dylan, Aaron, and Clara looked at each other. Aaron and Clara shrugged, leaving the final decision to Dylan. Finally, Dylan rubbed his hair, then looked at Megan in front of him, who looked pleading with shining eyes and a hopeful face.

"Alright, welcome aboard, Megan," Dylan said, smiling.

Megan’s face immediately lit up with joy. She instantly hugged Dylan, but her two arms went right through his body, and half of her body passed into Dylan’s since she was a ghost.

[All right, I’m making Megan our servant.]

Suddenly, Megan floated up into the air. A bright light began to shine around Megan’s entire body, and she looked delighted to see balls of light, like fireflies, spinning around her. The light grew brighter and brighter until Dylan, Aaron, and Clara had to shield their eyes with their arms. A moment later, after the light disappeared and the construction site returned to darkness, Dylan, Aaron, and Clara opened their eyes and looked at Megan.

"Whuaaah,"

All three immediately jumped back and hugged each other. The reason was that they no longer saw Megan as a ghost, but as a human-sized marionette with the exact same face. There were screws visible at all her joints—from her shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, and wrists—and there was a line across her lips like a puppet’s mouth that could open and talk.

Megan was also wearing a maid’s uniform that seemed to fit her marionette body. She looked at her two hands, opening and closing them, then she looked at Dylan, Aaron, and Clara, who were still hugging each other in front of her.

"Um... hello?" Megan asked, tilting her head with an expressionless face, as a puppet has no expression.

"H-Hello," Dylan replied.

"I’m ready," Megan replied.

"We’re not ready yet. Just a minute," Dylan replied.

"Okay, I’ll wait," Megan replied.

Dylan immediately pulled Aaron and Clara aside, turning their backs to Megan, and discussed with their faces pale from fright.

"Why did she turn out so creepy?" Dylan muttered.

"Oh man... I think this time it won’t just be Big Sister Maya who faints," Aaron mumbled, trembling.

"I-I’m scared. Can I sit in the front seat in the car later?" Clara asked.

"Wait, where do I sit?" Aaron asked.

"Y-You’ll be in the back with Megan," Clara replied.

"Oh, no way! I’m scared too," Aaron replied.

"Fine, fine. We already said yes, right? It would be mean to cancel now. Steel yourselves. Megan will sit in the front with me in the car, okay?" Dylan replied.

"O-Okay. Yeah, that feels safer," Aaron replied.

Finally, they turned back around and stared at Megan, who was still tilting her head and looking at them with a blank stare, but not moving at all.

"Alright, let’s go home, Megan," Dylan invited.

"Very well, thank you, Master," Megan replied, bowing her head.

They walked toward the gate. Dylan walked alongside Megan, who moved with a slightly odd gait, her legs occasionally bending backward. Aaron and Clara, walking behind, were clutching each other tightly, their faces pale. Suddenly, "Sreeet," Megan turned her head all the way around to look at Aaron and Clara while her body continued to walk forward.

"Sorry, I’m not used to walking yet. Please don’t be afraid... um... oh dear," Megan said.

Suddenly, Megan stopped and turned her head back around to face forward. She immediately grabbed Dylan’s arm, making him stop. Then Megan pointed behind them. Dylan turned and was shocked to see Aaron and Clara passed out on the ground, faces pale and still locked in an embrace.

"Huh... w-what happened? Why did they faint?" Dylan asked as he went to Aaron and Clara.

"Um... I told them by turning my head... then they fell," Megan replied.

"Oh my gosh... well, that’s reasonable then... help me, Megan. Please carry Clara, I’ll carry Aaron," Dylan replied.

"Yes, Master," Megan replied.

Megan immediately picked up Clara, and Dylan picked up Aaron. They ran toward the gate and jumped out over the fence. When landing, "Praak," Megan looked down, and her leg was bent in the wrong direction. She set Clara down briefly and fixed her leg. Dylan, who saw this, was slightly shocked and nearly fainted, watching the expressionless Megan bend her leg from the wrong direction back to the right one without feeling anything.

"Hey, KATS, what exactly did you turn Megan into? If it stays like this, I might faint too eventually. My heart is pounding—this is seriously unhealthy," Dylan said in his head.

[Just relax, sir. You will get used to it later.]

"Grrr... what about the people at home when they see Megan? All four of them might faint," Dylan replied.

[Right now, because she has just been awakened, Megan is not used to it, but later, when she gets used to it, she will move like a normal human and not like a puppet. Please be patient.]

"Uuuh... alright, I guess I have no choice," Dylan replied.

"I’m sorry, I promise I won’t disappoint you, Master," Megan added in Dylan’s head.

"Okay, okay, I understand. Let’s go home, it’s late," Dylan urged.

Finally, they walked back to the car, carrying the unconscious Aaron and Clara. The next morning, in the master bedroom, "Ugh," Dylan opened his eyes. "Blugh," suddenly Ellie, Maya, Lena, and Amy, still in their pajamas and lingerie, immediately hugged Dylan, trembling with pale faces.

"What’s wrong?" Dylan asked innocently.

"Th-That," Ellie pointed to the side of the bed.

"W-What creature is that," Lena added, burying her face in Dylan’s chest.

Maya and Amy had already fainted in Dylan’s arms, their eyes rolled back, their faces looking like they had experienced a horror movie event. Dylan turned to the side. His eyes widened as he saw Megan entering the room, carrying a complete breakfast that she seemed to have prepared herself for Dylan and his four wives in the room.

"I’m sorry... it seems I frightened them," Megan said.

"Oh... that’s right. Since they were already asleep last night, I hadn’t introduced Megan to them yet. sorry, my bad," Dylan said in his head.
