CHAPTER 91: WINTER KABIN VACATION

A week later, at a cabin located on the edge of a mountain lake, "Klap," Dylan closed his car door and started unloading their bags, assisted by Megan. He watched Aaron and Clara running after Fiona and Iris, who looked delighted and ran toward the edge of the dock on the lake. Then Dylan turned back and saw Ellie, Maya, Lena, and Amy standing behind him, pouting like children who wanted candy but were denied.

"What’s wrong with you all?" Dylan asked.

"The doctor said I’m not allowed to do that," Ellie said, frowning.

"I’m forbidden too, it sucks," Maya added.

"Same here. The doctor said the frequency was too high and too intense... even though it felt normal," Lena added.

"Hic... it’s been so long since we last did that," Amy added, pouting.

"Oh... hahaha, yeah... what can you do? Come on, we’re on vacation, right? Don’t look so sulky. I’ll make your favorite food later," Dylan muttered, understanding what they meant.

The four of them continued to pout. Suddenly, Megan whispered something to Dylan and asked him to whisper it to his four wives. Dylan immediately put down his bags and whispered to each of his four wives, one by one. Immediately, their faces brightened up, returning to their cheerful selves.

"Okay, promise?" Ellie asked, cheerful.

"Yes, tonight then," Maya added, cheerful.

"Finally, some release," Lena added, cheerful.

"I’m ready. Don’t you dare forget," Amy added, her face flat but cheerful.

The four of them immediately walked casually toward the cabin, while Dylan paused for a moment, stunned by the instant mood change in his four wives. Then he turned to look at Megan.

"What exactly did you whisper to me just now?" Dylan asked.

"Based on my experience when I was pregnant, if the doctor forbids intercourse, we can still have intimacy by using other means and not going all the way in. That’s what I meant," Megan replied.

"Wait... you told me to say ’just a little rub and caress,’ didn’t you?" Dylan asked, surprised.

"Rub and caress in certain areas that make them happy," Megan replied.

"Grrr... next time, explain it first before you tell me to whisper it to them," Dylan replied, annoyed.

"I apologize, but if I didn’t, I would feel sorry for them," Megan replied.

"Oh, well, what’s done is done. Since it’s been said, I have no choice but to follow through. Come help me carry these things," Dylan replied, picking up four backpacks from the ground.

"Yes, Master," Megan replied, immediately helping Dylan carry the rest.

They walked toward the cabin, which was made of wood with a stone foundation. Dylan glanced over to see Fiona and Iris already by the dock with Aaron and Clara standing behind them. Dylan entered the cabin. The interior was quite spacious, featuring a dedicated family room with a fireplace, a large dining table in the center, and a fully equipped but classically styled kitchen. There were three doors leading to three bedrooms, each with a connecting door so the three rooms joined up.

Ellie, Maya, Lena, and Amy took the largest room in the center, as it had a king-sized bed. They started unpacking the bags they took from Dylan, who was also in the room. Dylan would sleep with Aaron in the room on the right, while Clara, Fiona, Iris, and Megan would take the room on the far left.

When they returned to the main living area, Megan immediately left the cabin to catch up with Aaron, Clara, Fiona, and Iris, who were still by the lake, while Dylan sat on the living room sofa with his four wives.

"This cabin is cozy and quiet... far from electronics, and there’s no smartphone signal," Ellie said.

"Yep, this is exactly what we were looking for, isn’t it?" Maya replied.

"It’s better than them constantly playing games and nesting in the bunker. I like it here," Lena added.

"Did you rent this cabin online?" Amy asked Dylan.

"Um... no, I bought it. The transaction is still processing, but the owner is nice; we can use it for the holiday before the handover," Dylan replied.

"What? You bought it? From whom?" Ellie asked.

"From a co-worker at the construction site. This cabin belongs to his family, and he manages it, but since it’s rarely used and expensive to maintain, he intended to sell it. I snapped it up before he could post an ad or call a real estate agent," Dylan replied.

"You... didn’t use any of your weird skills to buy it, did you?" Amy asked.

"Of course not, relax," Dylan replied.

[Used Smooth Talker to negotiate the price down, used Manipulation to ensure we could use it for the holiday first, and Hacking to find the market price and buy it below the asking price.]

"Shut up," Dylan replied in his head.

"Blak," suddenly the door opened. Clara rushed in, panting, and immediately went to Dylan and pulled his arm.

"Woah, what is it?" Dylan asked.

"There’s a man who came by boat. Come on, Big Brother," Clara replied.

"Isn’t Megan out there?" Dylan asked.

"Yes, but he wants to talk to you. Come on, Big Brother," Clara replied.

Finally, Dylan stood up and left the cabin with Clara, followed by Ellie, Maya, Lena, and Amy. They immediately walked toward the dock by the lake. From a distance, Aaron was seen standing next to Megan, while Fiona and Iris were behind them. In front of them was a boat and a man who appeared to be wearing a park ranger uniform and carrying out his duties; the man in the boat also appeared to be wearing the same uniform. After Dylan walked up to them,

"What is it, Officer?" Dylan asked.

"Ah, are you the person in charge of this group?" the ranger asked.

"Yes, I am, Officer," Dylan replied.

"I just wanted to notify and remind you that the children shouldn’t play alone near the edge of the lake and must be supervised," the ranger said, smiling (then looked at the others), "Are you folks here on a family vacation?" he asked.

"Yes, we are, Officer. Thank you for the warning," Dylan replied.

"I’m sorry," Fiona said.

"Me too," Iris added.

"No problem at all. Since this cabin is usually empty, we normally just pass by, but because there are people here now, we stopped to introduce ourselves and give a heads-up. Our station is at the foot of the mountain. If you need anything, please contact us down there. Besides your group, there are a few other occupied cabins around this mountain lake and a camp for teenagers across the lake. All right, we’ll be heading off now. Enjoy your holiday," the ranger said, smiling at Fiona and touching his hat in farewell.

"Thank you, Officer," Dylan replied.

The ranger returned to his boat, and the boat sailed straight away, leaving them at the edge of the dock.

"Okay, everyone, let’s go inside. We’re getting ready for a barbecue," Dylan said, inviting the others.

"Awesome... let’s go, Big Brother," Fiona said, holding Dylan’s hand.

"I’m helping with the grilling," Iris added, holding Dylan’s other hand.

Dylan walked past Megan, Aaron, Clara, Ellie, Maya, Lena, and Amy, then he glanced back and saw everyone, except Megan, holding a pistol behind their backs. Megan’s hand, however, had transformed into a knife.

"He... hey, what are you guys doing?" Dylan asked, surprised.

"Just in case," Ellie replied.

"Yep, exactly. You never know if they’re bad guys and intend to mess with us," Lena added.

"Lucky he just gave us a warning," Maya added.

"Being prepared is necessary," Amy added.

"I’ve been ready for a while, Big Brother," Aaron added.

"That’s just how it is," Clara added.

"I was merely preparing in case something went wrong," Megan added.

"Okay, okay, put all your weapons away. Let’s go inside and get ready. It’s almost evening. Come on, hurry up," Dylan replied. "Megan, come help me," Dylan told Megan.

"Yes, Master," Megan replied.

They walked back toward the cabin and put all their weapons back in the arsenal. After that, Dylan went to the side of the cabin and started cleaning the wooden table so they could eat outside together.

[There is someone observing us, sir.]

"I know. The one watching us seems to be from the camp across the lake," Dylan said in his head.

[That is correct, sir. Would you like me to display it?]

"Of course," Dylan replied.

A hologram screen opened in front of Dylan. While cleaning the table, he saw several young people, who looked to be around Aaron and Clara’s age, watching them from behind the forest across the lake.

[They appear to be camp participants, sir.]

"Yeah, but frankly, this is kind of weird. Why is there a camp during winter break like this? Camps are usually in the summer, right? Besides, what exactly did that ranger want to convey? There’s no way they came all this way just to warn the kids not to play unsupervised by the lake. Didn’t they see Megan? Even though she’s a marionette, she looks completely human," Dylan said in his head.

[It would be best for us to stay vigilant, sir. I will notify you if anything happens.]

"Okay, thanks, KATS," Dylan replied.
