Chapter 103: Dormitory and New MayorA few days after Melina’s test, she was asked to move to the academy’s dormitories.

The people from the academy sent a carriage for the princess to move all of her stuff. However, it wasn’t necessary since she stored all of her things in her void pocket.

Noble kids could bring one servant with them during their stay, so naturally, Carli would be her partner. Commoners were allowed to do it, too, but it was unusual for them.

I decided to accompany her to help her unload all of her stuff and take a look at more of the academy while I was at it.

When we got to the women’s dormitory section, I noticed that the rooms were separated into two categories: Nobles and commoners, which made me doubt if the place truly treated everyone equally.

Melina explained that the academy had problems with bullying in the past, where noble kids would make the life of their commoner roommate a nightmare. To combat this, the academy decided to split them.

However, the rooms were all the same on the inside, so it wasn’t like they were giving rundown rooms to the commoners and fancy dorms to the nobles.

If it had been me, I would have tried my best to stop the bullying by punishing the aggressors and teaching the kids how to treat everyone equally, but at least they managed to solve the problem themselves, kind of.

"So, you are going to be roommates with other nobles?" I asked the princess.

"I guess so..." she said, looking slightly nervous.

Her room was on the 12th floor of the girls’ building, and when we entered, we were quite surprised by how it looked.

I was expecting a super fancy room since some areas of the academy looked extremely elegant.

I thought the rooms would share that same facade. However, the space felt and looked like the inside of a wood cabin.

There was one bed on one side and a bunk bed on the other, which meant there would be three people living there.

There was a large desk in one corner and a wooden door that led to their personal bathroom.

The back wall had a large window panel and, beside it, a glass door that led to a small terrace with an amazing view of the capital.

"This is pretty nice..." I muttered as I admired the sight of the city.

"Awww, man!" the princess exclaimed from inside the room.

Thinking that she had found something strange, I ran to see Melina and found her in a state of disappointment as she inspected the bathroom.

    "What happened?" I asked.

"Th-there is no bathtub here!" Melina exclaimed with a genuine expression of worriedness.

Nonetheless, I couldn’t help but find her outburst cute and started chuckling at her comment.

"What!? This is important. Stop laughing!" she playfully said, but I couldn’t stop.

The bathroom only had a toilet and a sink, and the toilet looked like a box with a hole instead of a seat like the ones we had on End Town.

’Maybe I showed her too much luxury...’ I thought, believing that the switch from toilets to latrines was not an easy thing to accept.

"Do you think the academy will get mad at me if I do some remodeling?" Melina asked, inspecting the bathroom.

"Well, what are you planning?" I asked.

For starters, the princess wanted to change the toilet seat, which was a simple task with our magic, so I didn’t think the academy would get mad at her for upgrading the facility she already had.

"Do you think they’ll allow me to build a tub? A shower is fine, too!" she said.

Nonetheless, I chuckled again at her ideas. The bathroom wasn’t large enough to have a shower or bathtub, so she would have to take down a wall or two to fit it in. Sёarch* The N?velFire.nёt website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

"Hmm, I feel like that might actually not be allowed..." I said, still chuckling a little.

The princess sighed, defeated. However, when she saw the terrace, she wondered if she could make a bathtub out there like the one we had in End Forest under the stars.

The balcony was big enough to hold it, and if she used magic to fill it up and empty it whenever she was done, I didn’t see a problem with the idea.

She wasn’t taking down walls or anything, and it was something that she could build and destroy in seconds, so I told her to try it out.

Of course, she wasn’t going to do it then since we still needed to help her unpack.

After she brought out her stuff from her void pocket, Carli, Melina, and I spent an hour fixing everything up.

Seeing that she was the first to arrive at the room, Melina chose the lone bed, leaving the bunk bed to her two future roommates.

After everything was in order, it was time for me to leave, which made me kind of sad, knowing that I wouldn’t hang out with Melina as often.

However, I was meant to go to pick up Triana from Glorya and take her to End Town so she could become the new mayor, and I also needed to travel to all of the different sites for the knights’ orders to give them their new training regime.

Needless to say, I was going to be busy for a few days, and Melina knew it, too.

Carli, seeing that the princess wanted to tell me something personal, promptly left the room without saying anything.

"You better come visit me..." she muttered, her voice laced with sadness.

"I will, I promise," I said with a smile that was interrupted by Melina, who brazenly clasped the back of my neck and pulled me in for a kiss, making me intuitively hold on to her waist.

After a few seconds, the princess slowly retracted her face while blushing and gazed to the side, her arms still around my shoulders.

"That was just in case you get more nightmares..." she said.

After sharing a final hug, I made my way out through the balcony since it looked like a nice place to fly, and I didn’t want to walk all the way to the exit, honestly.

The next day, I teleported to the city of Glorya to pick up Triana Sephyr, Melina’s cousin and the girl that possessed the "Eye of Truth," allowing her to be able to see a person’s true intentions.

Because of her power, Triana spent her life somewhat isolated from the rest of the people, fearing they would try to use her in political battles. However, she wasn’t a quiet or weak woman by any means.

She could be a little shy sometimes, but she was also intelligent and logical. If she saw that you posed no threat to her, she could easily hold a friendly conversation with anyone.

When I arrived, the 20-year-old had her bags ready and looked confident about her new position, and after saying farewell to her parents, we teleported to End Town.

The first thing we did was go to the town hall to talk to Jackson, who would teach her all about the job and introduce her to the workers.

After that, we took her on a tour of the entire town, during which she looked delighted.

I had seen Triana smile before, but she looked completely different when interacting with the people of End Town.

After the tour, I teleported her to the tree house in End Forest so that she could see the alchemists and her brother, Reinar, although they saw each other not long ago at the knight’s tournament.

When I asked her if she liked the place, she looked at me with excitement and nodded, saying that everyone in town was a good person, something she had never seen before.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

Whenever Triana walked around Glorya, she could see everyone’s real intentions. When she was a small girl developing her powers, she realized that a lot of people had bad intentions.

It was this uneasiness of knowing everyone’s feelings that gave her trust issues. However, she explained that everyone had pure intentions when she walked around End Town.

"It’s as if the entire town looks after one another... I have never felt anything like this." Triana commented with a smile.

Hearing her say that made me quite happy and proud. I considered myself to be a good judge of character, but if someone was really good at lying, then I had no real way of knowing a person’s intentions.

However, Triana could discern these lies and couldn’t find anyone in our town who posed a problem, which I took as a win.

Remembering the times when I first met her, Triana couldn’t see anything wrong with Jackson other than the spirits not getting close to him.

At the time, I didn’t know it either, but Jackson was a former devil, so I thought that if Triana looked at him again, his secret would be known.

Nonetheless, that wasn’t the case since Triana showed a hint of admiration for the man, making me even happier to know that Jackson always had good intentions toward us.
