Elian watched as Bianca danced across the battlefield. If you forget that a raging lunatic was hell-bent on ripping her apart, it would have been a beautiful sight. Each time Origin came close, Elian's stomach dropped.

His wife was literally dancing on the edge of a knife. One mistake would spell her death or injuries close to it. As if by design, she somehow gained Dimension Walker, a Job Origin created solely for Dr. Magnolia.

In essence, it allowed one to literally bend space and, to some extent, time. Together with Psychomancer, Bianca was following in the steps of her mother.

"ARGH! Stay still!"

"I refuse. Only my husband may have his way with me. A powerful being you might be, in comparison to him you might as well be a disgustingly misshapen pig," Bianca snapped as if she were insulted.

Elian couldn't suppress his laughter. Ever since he shared how he found Ned, who cursed his opponents during battle funny, Bianca decided to adopt the trait.

And while she used to have a cold and regal image, she transformed into a condescending intellectual snob all to increase her appeal to Elian.

"Ah, I thought it would help keep his eyes on me. I noticed that fighting like a delinquent had its own benefits. And…you liked Ned because he cursed a lot. I-I wanted to try it too…I was hoping you would like me more if I did."

It seemed a lifetime ago, yet the woman fighting for her life on the line remained the same. A misunderstood dork who wanted to be loved and pampered. She often grew embarrassed when her clinginess showed, but she bravely sought him anyway.

Much like he did, though Bianca had reached the pinnacle of strength, she was at her core the same person he had met in the Red Ant dungeon. The same woman he fell madly in love with.

The realization of what he had given Elian strength. Unlike most heroes in stories or movies, he wasn't fighting for some vague, abstract reason like the future, goodness, justice, and the like.

No, he was just a husband fighting to protect his wife.

The woman who saved him when he had nothing. And while she made his life horrible in over a hundred different universes, in this one she was the reason for him to look forward to the next day.

And that is enough.

Elian took a deep breath and refocused on the army of rotary cannons covering the battlefield. Although they were trying their best, trying to hit a teleporting opponent was impossible.

The vast number of rounds failed to hit their target and just wasted valuable time spent to fabricate them.

"Tsk. This isn't working. The rotary cannon fires fast but needs time for the bullets to hit. I need to get in close. But Origin is ignoring me; maybe I could…"

At that point, Elian found his solution. Within a single thought, every one of the rotary cannons began to transform. From long-barreled weapons, they grew shorter and all gained wooden handles.

As fate would have it, Bianca entered a dimensional rift and appeared beside her husband.

"My love, huff. Do we have a plan now? I am nearing my limit." She asked while trying to catch her breath.

"We do. But it will be a gamble. Do you trust me?"

"Without question," Bianca answered immediately.

"Then dance with me."

"Huh? What are you...?"

Elian grabbed Bianca by her waist and began to move his body. His steps followed the classical waltz. Although surprised, she followed his lead and broke out into a dazzling smile.

"Do you know that I have always wanted to do this?"

Careful not to step on her feet, Elian summoned his inhumane Agility to complete the steps for the dance. Although it was a waste that he could not see her form, Elian still loved the feeling of being able to dance with his beloved.

"I often read tales of princesses and knights just dancing under the moonlight. It was all so romantic. To think that I would finally get the chance to do so with you."

Elian smiled as he spun Bianca; her grace and elegance were beyond breathtaking. If she wore a lewd dress, it would have been even better; he couldn't help but think.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TWO DOING? HAVE YOU GONE INSANE?"

The interloper finally arrived a moment later. Red from anger, his body was trembling. Origin looked like a balloon a few shakes short of exploding. Yet the pair in front of him ignored his bellows and continued to dance.

"Such a shame, your ascension hasn't finished. I grow excited about how ravishing you will become. Although being kept in the dark has its own appeal."

Bianca couldn't help but giggle at his comment.

"You really are mad, my love. To think you would choose now, of all times, to ask me to dance for you. Sigh, if only the misshapen pig would take a hint."

"STOP IGNORING ME, YOU BASTARDS!"

Origin lost his patience and lunged for the pair. His fist glowed with mana as it aimed to strike Elian's head. Meanwhile, the Tyrant simply let go of Bianca and suddenly pulled out two sawed-off shotguns from thin air.

"!!!"

Then he pulled the trigger.

From his short weapons came a storm of pellets that rained on Origin. Unfortunately, not a single one managed to break his defenses, much like before. The Divine being scoffed and slammed his fist into Elian, but he didn't even flinch.

[You have consumed a stack of Divine Invulnerability. Max HP is increased by 1%.]

"ARGH! ANNOYING!"

Origin drew his other arm back and was about to throw a second punch when two more gunshots rang out. Again, a bunch of pellets slammed against the back of Origin's head, causing no damage.

But as Elian was in front of him, Origin turned around and saw Bianca holding a pair of sawed-off shotguns with a mischievous expression.

"Oh my," she teased. "Such a shame."

In the next moment, she threw the guns and picked up two more that were floating around.

BANG!

Preoccupied with Bianca, Origin's head got peppered with pellets for the third time. The perpetrator? Elian, who didn't even wait and was already retrieving two more shotguns.

"YOU INSOLENT, IDIOTIC LITTLE CURS! HOW DARE YOU!"

Origin flung his leg toward Elian, but the Weapon merely raised his right arm to block it.

[Alert: Bio-Synthetic Regeneration has been triggered. Rapid reconstruction has begun.]

[You have gained 1 stack of Divine Invulnerability. Max HP is reduced by 1%. Total HP reduction: 14%]

BANG!

"YOU!!!!"

"Dimensional Rift."

"COWARDLY PIECES OF..."

BANG!

As if the couple sought nothing more than to drive Origin insane, they kept shooting the back of his head as if it were some kind of game. Thousands of floating sawed-off shotguns littered the space around them, which only added to the spectacle.

They would come together and glide across the stars, gazing into each other's eyes. Origin would cut in. They would shoot him in the face, then retreat to safety.

Beat by beat, this cycle repeated like a song; the gunfire, laughter, and roars of a divine being created a melody unlike any other.

Elian and Bianca were in grave danger, yet somehow, their nonchalance felt as if it mocked Origin and his divinity.

"YOU DARE FIGHT ME WITH TOYS?!"

BANG.

"AGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!"

But no matter what Origin did, he could not hurt either the Weapon or his Villainess. They covered each other's blind spots, creating a united front that even he could not penetrate.

Howling like an animal, Origin turned around and tried to strangle Bianca by her neck, but she simply blew him a kiss and vanished. In the next second, shotgun pellets smacked against Origin's shield.

"YOUUUUU SICCCKKK BASTARDSSSS!!!"

The divine being's skin suddenly began to show all sorts of shades, then he sent mana and shockwaves outward. Bianca teleported beside Elian and carried him to safety. The thousands of shotguns with him also coming along for the ride.

"Oh dear, he seems angry," Bianca said with a smirk.

"That tends to happen when you mess with them, darling. He'll come after us for real now."

"Mhm? I wasn't aware that he was playing with us earlier… here he comes. Dance with me, my love."

Pushing Elian slightly away, Origin landed between them in the next moment. United in purpose, both Weapon and Villainess pulled out shotguns and blasted Origin. And although he tried to react, immediately after he was always a second too slow.

Elian would either absorb or deflect his strikes to let Bianca rest.

Bianca would create distance or send Origin on wild tangents to allow Elian's skills to cool down.

It was a waltz that teetered on the edge of death. A mad expression of love, insanity, and assassination.

All while Origin ate mountains of pellets, none of which missed, Elian and Bianca even began to chat as they grew bored.

"My love, what will you give me if I fire the gun that finds the slayer's metal?"

"I don't know, what do you even want, darling?"

"STOP MOVING, YOU PRICKS!"

"I want a house on the beach. Just the two of us. Away from everyone else."

"Yeah, I want that too."

BANG!

"How can it be a reward if we both want the same thing?"

"Do we have to want opposite thing? Have you never played co-op?"

Chaotic gunfire continued as the lovers danced in the darkness of space.

That is until...

"GUAAK!"

For the first time, a shotgun shell caused Origin to stumble. The moment it happened, the balance was broken.

Origin wiped the back of his head in shock; it was a mere graze, but blue blood flowed from the small cut on his skin.

"Jackpot."

"So it would seem."

And like a pair of demons, the hunted's smiles grew wider. Finally, after what felt like millions of pellets, the tides have finally turned.
