Chapter 75

'Celestial swordsmanship would be changed to Celestial Demon Sword Art.'

~~

Stating the name of the King, the old man had halted any questions that could have come from the baron. In the end, the baron was just that, a baron. The king, who was considered the representative of the god on earth, the sole ruler of the god's land, was, in the end, incomparable to a mere baron.

Sure, the baron lord held some power, but beyond that, there was nothing. He could have questioned the old man, whom I presumed was some sort of advisor to the king, or another lord, about why he was there.

Justification. It was a very crucial factor in this, no, in any era. The old man was here to visit his daughter, and then he was here by the orders of the king, which had entirely two different implications.

In the case of the former, he was the guest and had no right to butt in on the baron's proceedings even if he was powerful. After all, he was the outsider while the baron lord was the interim owner of the land.

However, in the latter case, the man was simply doing his job. The person he answered to was the king, and the king could not be questioned, doubted, or asked for a justification.

"I shall not disappoint his majesty, Lord Carlson," Ruuthaven replied with a forced smile.

With that, the games came to an end, and after about an hour, it was time for Ruuthaven and his party to depart. I tried my best to take note of his and his subordinates' expressions, but I couldn't find any hints of them being worried about their soldiers who didn't return last night.

I didn't know what the course of action would be, but whatever it was, it was better to steer clear of them right now. If not for the old man who was capable of keeping an eye on me, I would have already left after them, but it seemed like I needed a change in plans.

~~

Once Ruuthaven and his party were gone, Carlson dismissed everyone else, saying he needed to rest. I was dismissed for the day unless I was required for Zara, so I went to the training hall to train.

However, I was not alone. When I arrived at the training hall that Zara used personally, there were already two people waiting for me, and no, they were not pleasant in the least.

"Look who it is." One of them said. He stopped swinging his sword and looked at me with clear contempt. The other one was the same. Children of Zara, her two sons, who were apparently also in the same organization as me. But given their attitudes, it once again affirmed my belief that the organization didn't want to save commoners but just grow them for other miscellaneous purposes.

Well, not like it mattered to me. I'd be soon enough on the top of the food chain.

"Good morning, young masters." I gave them the proper greeting according to the courtesy. I was unsure who Zara would pick when a problem would arise between me and her children, but considering they were her children, I wasn't very optimistic, so it was better to keep myself in limits.

"Whatever." The other one said before he waved his hand, like shooing me away, "We're training here. Don't sour our moods and leave."

"Understood, young masters." I simply replied and left. I was on my way out when a soldier was running in my direction at full speed. He stopped in front of me and panted heavily.

"What's the matter?" I asked.

"I-I was here for the young masters. A dungeon has been detected in the area. The lady has asked me to quickly retire them to a safe place." The soldier reported and then ran inside. I also picked up disturbance outside, so I made my way out quickly to see soldiers of the town and the knights brought by Carlson standing outside of the manor in strict mode.

"You're here, Jack." I heard a familiar voice and turned to Cassandra, who said, "But you're not needed here."

"What do you mean, young lady?" I asked.

"It's a rank 3 dungeon. There's nothing you can do about it. Go and be with Mother." Cassandra said, and it didn't sound like a suggestion. Her orders were something I couldn't deny, given the situation, so I simply nodded and left with a reply, "Yes, my lady."

"Good. Guard Mother well." She said and joined the knight who had stopped me in the morning to deliver news of the dungeon.

I knew there were dungeons and gates in this world, but they were so rare that they weren't even considered proper threats until one formed. Because once one was formed, the threat level increased by a good bit.

I ran my eye over the soldiers didn't see the members of my family anywhere. I snuck away to check up on them, and the one to open the door was Rayla. "Oh, Jack. You're here."

She quickly hugged me. I could sense her body trembling, and tears could be seen in her eyes. The others in the house were similarly sullen.

Jeez.

One could think the world was coming to an end.

Well, from what I read, it was probably true. Dungeons were unpredictable. If you were lucky, goblins could come out, but if not, venomous insects could come out.

There was a chance that beings that could burrow under the ground or had harsh compatibility with the environment could come out as well.

All we could do was wait for what was to come. If it was too much, I would have no choice but to reveal myself, but I had a feeling it wouldn't come to that. There were a total of four ranked dungeons. From one to four, the threat level increased. Rank four dungeon was an International crisis, and rank three was a national one.

Given that there was an S-ranked awakened knight here, along with the old man Carlson, I didn't think anything would happen.

So, I consoled everyone and told them I needed to leave for the world to guard the lady. Everyone disagreed vehemently, but if the crisis came to a pass, and I didn't do what I was told, I would be punished. Executed, possibly, since guarding a noble was a big deal.

In the end, I managed to calm everyone down and made my way back to the mansion while telling them to take care of the house and not to step out. I'd also keep an eye out in case anything happened.

For now, there had been something I was pushing forward because I wasn't too optimistic about it this soon into my new life, but I guess I needed to do it anyway.

[Would you like to commence 'Incorporation'?]

[Warning]

[This process can have adverse effects on the user if the vessel of user cannot bear the transference]

[Would you still like to begin the first stage?]

[Yes\No]

'Incorporation.' This process was always done in stages, not all of it at once. It could be gleaned from the name, but it was a process of merging my past lives' skills with this one. After all, all those skills were imprinted in my mind, but they weren't registered in the system as system skills because I was not ready for them.

I could still cast them, but if I didn't have the required mana or other factors weren't met, I'd lose my body to a mighty explosion.

That was why it was always better to use system skills instead of using them on my own. The system would never let me go beyond my capability, so the chances of risks were reduced to a great degree.

I took a deep breath and nodded, 'Yes.'

[Acknowledged]

[Skills and knowledge optimal for the user and according to the current compatibility rate would be transferred]

A rush clouded my mind for a second, but it was just for a second. The space around me felt distorted, but it fixed itself soon on its own. Once I was fine, I checked the notifications while making my way to Zara's room.

Finally, by the time I arrived at Zara's room, all skills, at a lower proficiency, that could be used at my current level, were fully incorporated.

All I was lacking now was the MP to use these skills without a hitch.

Haa...

One after another.

"You're here, Jack." I opened the door to see Zara sitting on the bed, and Carlson sitting at the tea table, having tea.

But the most interesting detail was...
