So the details I found from the monster corpse were a bit disturbing. They were human, alright. But not just any humans…

Looking at the limp shlong that I dared not touch, I couldn’t help but feel a bit guarded. If I had to mention one thing I hated about the system, then it was this. Not giving a full explanation. I didn’t care if it sprung missions on me left and right without considering my situation, because in the end, it always worked out for the better. But it never gave me certain details such as this ‘Final deed’.

What was it? I had an idea, but it could easily mean something else. For now, I needed to focus on three things. First and foremost was awakening my son. I didn’t care if the world came to an end before that, but I wasn’t focusing on anything else but that.

The second was to find out who was behind these monsters. There can only be one dick man in this world, and that will be me, and after me, there won’t be any. That I swear on the name of my mother. My real one, not this one. This one I was doing a lot of unspoken things to.

And third, I saved the best one for last, even though it wasn't an urgent issue.

“The king?” Cassandra asked before she shook her head and replied, “Well, I cannot say for sure, but he probably became a seventh-star aura master by now. That is also why the war with the empire ended with a few skirmishes.”

I was just curious, so I asked, but apparently, the king of this nation was quite strong. Of course, a seventh-star aura master was not that strong, given the standard I had built throughout all my previous lives.

Cassandra didn’t even question why I was asking such a basic question, but that issue was resolved when I found out that it was information not usually available to commoners. And another fact that became known to me. The king was also against common breeds. He was an enemy.

“By the way,” I said before I asked, “Have you come here to inform me of just this, young lady?”

I was addressing the letter in my hand, but what I really meant to ask was something else.

“I was wondering where Lucas is. Talking to him can be enlightening.” She replied with a straight face. Considering lust didn’t exist in this world, there was only one emotion left for people to marry. Love and romance.

Granted, displaying it without physical gestures was a little confusing, but romance did exist nonetheless.

And right now, this noble lady had fallen for my older brother. The princess and the stable boy kind of scenario.

“I see.” I replied before I stood up and said, “I’ll send him out then.”

With that, I left and returned to my room after informing Lucas, who left everything he was doing and practically ran outside. I opened the letter. It was a simple letter informing the lord of this town about the arrival of a few officials and that we were to keep the crops preserved for them.

Since Zara’s father was pretty influential in the royal court, no new lord had been appointed, and Zara was automatically given the authority to run the town until it wasn’t made sure that the lord wasn’t coming back.

Also, it stated, very clearly, that we were to form and send a party after Lord Ruuthaven to summon him back to the town so he could also receive the envoy as the lord of this land.

And I was to join that party.

Early morning arrived, and my mood was dimming with each passing day. Sure, the excitement of awakening my son was immense and played a bigger part in my patience, but after not having sex for a few days, my mood was turning downcast. Like the most fun play toy had been taken away from me after letting me have the full joys of it.

I arrived outside the lord’s mansion and joined the already formed small unit of soldiers. I wasn’t leading, though. It was Cassandra and her brother, the older one, but still younger than Cassandra. I didn’t know what his name was, though, and quite frankly, I wasn't interested at all.

“Our mission is quite simple. We are to follow the traces of Lord Ruuthaven’s party and catch up with him. We are to deliver the royal verdict and inform him of the envoy’s arrival within three days. If we, in that time frame, are not able to find him, we are to return. Is it clear?” Cassandra delivered the instructions, and everyone nodded.

What I was surprised about, though, was…

“What are you doing here?” I asked.

“Young Lady ordered me to join her on this mission.” Lucas, my older brother, stoically replied. I looked at his face for a while before I took a deep breath  and muttered, “Young love.”

“What?” He asked.

“I said young love,” I said out loud.

He couldn’t retort.

Anyway, the conversation came to an end as we soon departed. On foot, it took us about three hours before we arrived at the demonic forest. Only Cassandra and her brother had horses.

Instead of coating ourselves with mana and aura to protect ourselves from the demonic energy, we were given artifacts to repel the energy. There were only ten of us, so the expenditure wasn’t that much.

“The forest sure is quiet.” One of the soldiers at the back said to another one next to him.

“You’re right. There was a time when I couldn’t even think of coming here due to the strong beasts.” The other one replied.

Their misconception was quite amazing. There weren’t many strong monsters here, but then again, I could just be speaking from my standards. All in all, the journey was quite silent and boring.

Cassandra rode her horse at the forefront, her brother next to her but just one or two steps behind. Behind him was me on foot, and behind me was Lucas, who was holding his sword quite tightly. And then there were the six soldiers behind us.

We kept walking for the day until it was dark, and Cassandra said, “We’ll set camp here for tonight.”

The location she chose wasn’t optimal since there were a lot of bushes around, but she knew that as well. Since there were no monsters here anymore, the chance of an animalistic ambush was quite low.

I also agreed with her. Since there was no danger, going out of our way to find an optimal spot was unnecessary. Still, rounds were assigned, and I volunteered to be the first one. Since we would be resting for five hours, the setup was two people at once.

The camp was set up, and one of the soldiers, who was also a cook, cooked a simple meal after which everyone went to sleep. Since I was the first one, my mate was none other than the guy who disliked me the most among all.

And I couldn't help but wonder why he was also doing night duty given his status, but that was decided between him and Cassandra, so I didn't know the reason.

“Don’t even look at me, you leech. You disgust me.”

Oh, how much I wanted to rip his vocal chords out.
