The next chapter would be the end of the second volume. I didn't want to end it so soon, but I've decided to move the story a little faster. Don't worry, your enjoyment wouldn't lessen in any way.

Have fun!

Chapter 87

[Dragon heart]

[Rank: Undetermined]

[Description: An amalgamation of pure mana that doesn’t exist anywhere

Created through dedication and precision, it holds almost all the properties of a real dragon's heart

But, a product made from a human effort would in the end be just that, a product

Don’t go pushing up your hopes for all the effects of a dragon heart]

[Effect(s):

#1: Max MP +1,000,000,000

#2: All stats +50

#3: Resistance to all elements +10%

#4: Proficiency with all elements +100%

#5: When executing a fire spell, all effects, whether attack or defense, become 100% more effective]

[Due to no dragon properties being present, no specific elemental properties would transfer]

[Stamina cannot be increased from the set amount]

[The heart cannot be consumed as is]

[The heart must be processed for it to be safe for consumption]

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting anything above C or B rank, but an undetermined rank was kind of a double-edged sword. It could either be an amazing item or it could be a trash item. But, looking at the effects, the effects were amazing, so it was at the very least an A rank if not higher. But given the limitations, it probably wasn’t above SS rank.

Still, it was an amazing item. An item that could increase one’s mana by one billion was something worth killing for. But if everything in life were so easy, why would I call myself unlucky?

Not only was it a one-time consumption item, which meant if I devoured this, I wouldn’t gain any more anything from the future dragon hearts I would consume. Even if they were original or better, nothing would help. That was only possible if I was either a dragon or possessed another body, which wasn’t as easy as it sounded.

And lastly, and definitely not forgetting this one, it was an item that required purification. Which meant if something went wrong during that process, the effects could diminish greatly or the heart could perish altogether.

Purification in this case would be the body reformation process. Because that was the only method of keeping the heart as original as possible without making it too… unoriginal.

Anyway, that was why the fourth step was so crucial, and there couldn’t be any mistakes. During the entire body reformation, every step was crucial, and, although the system would be helpful, laying the foundations was my job.

And so, I began. Instantly drawing the circle, I engraved the necessary runes, instilling magic where it was needed. I then used the mana stored in the mana containers to fill up and power those runes. Once that was done, and I was thoroughly out of mana, I placed the heart in the middle of the circle and sat in front of it.

Finally, with everything done, I began to infuse my blood into the runes.

The entire circle instantly turned blood red and began to shine. The runes began to glow and full to life, their target the heart in the middle, which, as soon as the red light flowed into it, began to beat.

Heartbeat as strong as a drum soon began to resonate in the surroundings. It wasn’t even long before the beating got so loud that my ears began to hurt.

Finally, the blood-red circle vanished, leaving nothing in place except for the scorched circle and rune marks. Finally, I grabbed the heart with both hands, as gently as I could, and began to channel it through my body.

The heart instantly turned into red shining particles and flowed into my throat through my nostrils. I instantly felt hot, hot beyond the word hot, and soon fell into the territory of molten lava hot.

But that didn’t burn my body in the least, but what was hurting was my soul. The immense heat allowed me to follow its movements throughout my body. I concentrated the movements through my groin, willing it to the area that I needed most attention to. The area was soon assigned, and let me tell you the heat, the heat was on another level.

Although it didn’t hurt at all, the area the pain was in was kind of actually very, very important. Although the pain was mostly in my imagination, the pain was one of a kind.

Anyway, finally, once the entire setup was done and there were no errors spotted, I then let nature take its course. The intense heat coursing through my soul began to course on its own now, the circulation beyond anything I could have ever imagined.

I couldn’t help but understand the words of the system that no human mind could ever possibly imagine.

Anyway, I first felt the mana heart form in the right side of my chest. That was a normal procedure of the body formation. An extra life. That was about half of what the body reformation was. The other half was the entire body restructure, but in my case, I had focused that half on just my groin. To do what a human body was supposed to do.

And that was the final step.

What happened after that was beyond me. How much time had passed, or what changes my body had been through, were things beyond me.

Finally, when I opened my eyes next time, the first thing I noticed was the scorched ground beneath me. Then I noticed the coal-type stones with red lines formed in them. Cheap versions of sorcerer stones because they practically held my life. Well, my previous life before this body was reformed into this.

This perfection.

I raised my hands slowly to gaze at them. My skin was even whiter than before, milky white to be exact. I didn’t notice any other major changes in me, but that was probably because I was still coming to my senses.

But, as soon as my senses were regained, I immediately looked down at my naked body, the clothes on my body long since been atomized, and there it was.

A stub

My heart fell in despair. Perhaps, it wasn’t possible after all.

But my despair was short-lived. Because…

[An inexplicable achievement]

[State of completion has been advanced to the next stage]
