Chapter 413 - 285: Quietly Releasing a Song, Sun Jian’s Stubbornness
CHAPTER 413: CHAPTER 285: QUIETLY RELEASING A SONG, SUN JIAN’S STUBBORNNESS
Just as Li Guang was walking back, the atmosphere in the studio was similarly unsettled.
"Chen Feng, aren’t you worried at all?"
Chen Feng, who was lying on the table eating an orange, looked up at Yang Lin, a surprised expression on his face. He genuinely couldn’t understand why she would ask such a question.
"Huh? Why should I be worried?"
"What?"
Yang Lin’s eyes widened. It was as if she had seen something unbelievable.
"Is there something wrong with you, Chen Feng? Are you not aware of our situation at all?"
"Us? What’s wrong with us? What situation?"
Seeing his indifferent attitude, Yang Lin took a deep breath, her expression completely changing.
"How could I have ended up with a partner like you? We’re getting torn apart online by everyone, and you’re still in the mood to eat oranges?"
The more she spoke, the angrier she seemed to get. She glared at the orange and finally stood up, snatching it from Chen Feng’s hand. Just as she was about to throw it in the trash, she paused. Then, she began to peel it, continuing to speak as she did so, "The point is, getting scolded doesn’t matter as long as we’re making money. But have you seen us make any recently?"
At this, Chen Feng became upset.
"What do you mean, no money? A few days ago, President Chu said our share of the song’s revenue is about to come in. That’s tens of thousands! Isn’t that money?"
Yang Lin faltered; she really had forgotten about that. It wasn’t that her mind wasn’t working well; her thoughts were just preoccupied with something else.
"But... but don’t you want to earn more? Look at Li Guang! After he got popular, he started doing commercial shows. Are we just going to sit around in the office every day, hoping for that small cut?"
Seeing her anxious expression, Chen Feng almost rolled his eyes. He was about to criticize his partner for always being such a worrywart, constantly fretting over potential gains and losses, and imagining all sorts of unlikely problems.
But before he could speak, the door was pushed open.
"Oh, everyone’s here?"
Yang Lin, already fuming, saw Sun Jian poke his head in and seemed to instantly find an outlet for her anger. She whirled around, eyes wide, and fumed, "What are you doing here? Don’t you have your own lounge?"
It had to be said, because there were relatively few artists and Sister Hua was quite accommodating, everyone had their own lounge, in addition to a shared one outside. For newcomers, these conditions were already very good.
Sun Jian hadn’t expected to be hit with a barrage the moment he stopped by. Fortunately, he had gotten used to Yang Lin’s explosive temper during this time. It wasn’t personal; she just had a fiery temper. So, he didn’t take it to heart. Instead, he turned to Chen Feng, gave a helpless shrug, and asked, "What’s wrong with her now? Did she swallow a firecracker?"
Chen Feng, long accustomed to this, glanced at Sun Jian and secretly gestured towards Yang Lin with his chin. "What else? She’s just worked up because Li Guang is getting commercial gigs."
Speaking of this, Sun Jian’s eyes lit up.
"Hey, get this! Not only is he doing commercial shows, but he’s blown up again—even bigger than last time!"
"What? Popular again?"
"What happened?"
Upon hearing this, both Yang Lin and Chen Feng were shocked. Yang Lin reacted instantly. Though Chen Feng appeared unconcerned, it would be a lie to say he wasn’t envious. Now, hearing Li Guang had become popular again, they were even more shocked. Their eyeballs felt like they were about to fall out!
"Seriously, our company definitely has a few tricks up its sleeve." As he spoke, Sun Jian took out his phone with a smug look. "Here, let me show you something. You’ll get it once you see this."
He opened his phone, found the video he had watched earlier, and started playing it.
"Is this a short video? You’re watching this while at work?" Chen Feng asked.
"Hey, hey, hey! Focus on the video, that’s the important part!" Sun Jian shot Chen Feng an irritated look for his tactless remark, then pointed to the video, urging them to watch.
"Is that Li Guang?"
The screen was small, the room was bright, and the video was shot from a distance, so it was hard to make out the person on stage at first. But Yang Lin recognized Li Guang at a glance, probably because she knew him well.
"Yes, that’s him."
"So, this is a video from his commercial gig? It’s already online? Looks like a big crowd."
Before Yang Lin could finish, Sun Jian clicked his tongue. "More than that! Look here, look here! See? 560K likes, 41K comments! See?!"
Actually, he’d come over specifically to share this news. After seeing the video, he just couldn’t sit still. What’s more, he’d specifically searched for related videos and found out this one with 560K likes was posted by someone in the audience. In other words, that was all organic growth. He knew this because he’d also stumbled upon another video, one that already had over a million likes and showed signs of company promotion.
As a fellow artist in the same company, how could he not be envious? His eyes were practically green with it! But what good was envy? This agonizing... no, this *joyful* news, of course, had to be shared with good friends. That’s why he’d come over to Yang Lin and Chen Feng.
"So many?! Seriously, is that song really so magical? How does he strike gold every time he sings it?" Yang Lin covered her mouth in surprise, her face full of disbelief. She’d been amazed when Li Guang inexplicably blew up the first time. She never thought he could do it twice in such a short period!
