CHAPTER 179: THE GIRLS ARRIVED

A few moments earlier, outside the station—

Yura, Devy, Rina, Karen, and Dila had finally arrived at the police headquarters.

They were a little late. Not because of traffic, but because of a small mistake—

They hadn’t followed the police convoy escorting Al, assuming he’d been taken to the provincial police headquarters for questioning.

But it turned out he’d been brought instead to the city resort police headquarters.

Only when they arrived, confusion immediately spread among them.

For families like the Norvaliens, Tamarvich, and Karagara, this level of case should’ve gone straight to the provincial police, not handled here at the resort level.

Why here?

---

Earlier in the car, on their way over, the ride hadn’t exactly been quiet.

Dila, who didn’t understand why Rina and Karen had been acting so tense before, finally got her answer the moment she saw Yura. Her mouth literally fell open.

Right. That explained everything.

No wonder the two of them looked like they were walking on eggshells earlier.

This was Yura—the girl with the sadistic reputation.

Not just among their peers, but in the entire city. Or rather, all of Eastern Indorosia knew who she was.

And when they told her, in that awkward car ride, that Yura was now Al’s girlfriend—

Dila almost burst out laughing right then and there.

She had to cover her mouth to stop herself from cackling.

Everything suddenly made sense—

No wonder Al had looked gloomy this morning when Rina joked about his love life.

---

Now, parked not far from the station gates, the five girls sat silently in their car, watching the building through the tinted windows.

Dila leaned forward, squinting. "Why is the case being handled here?" she muttered, brows furrowed. She actually knew a bit about how law enforcement worked.

"For families as big as Norvalien and Tamarvich, this kind of case should be handled at the regional level, not local."

"Really? I thought the local station was good enough," Karen said innocently, tilting her head.

Rina just sighed and shook her head. She didn’t understand the legal part either—but even she could tell something was off.

Yura, meanwhile, said nothing. She sat in silence, eyes locked on the building like a hawk, her expression sharp and restless.

Devy noticed the tension in Yura’s gaze and finally asked,

"So, what do we do? Should we go in and check what’s happening?"

That snapped Yura out of her trance. She blinked, turning to look at them one by one.

Everyone seemed to be waiting for her signal.

She took a slow breath, then nodded.

"For now, Devy and I will stay here," she said calmly but firmly. "If I go in, things might get... messy."

Her eyes shifted toward the three sitting squeezed together in the backseat of the compact car.

"So, you three will go and check things out," she ordered.

Karen stiffened slightly. Getting assigned a ’mission’ in this blazing heat wasn’t what she had in mind today, but she didn’t protest. She just nodded, resigned.

Rina and Dila, on the other hand, immediately agreed. They didn’t care what it took—As long as they could find out how Al was doing.

"Alright," all three said at once.

Karen’s tone carried a hint of surrender, while Rina and Dila’s voices were sharper, more determined.

Moments later, they got out of the car—

And were instantly greeted by the merciless midday sun.

Karen nearly stumbled at the sudden shift in temperature—from cool air-conditioning to scorching heat.

Meanwhile, Rina and Dila looked perfectly fine. Determination burned hotter than the sun itself.

Yura rolled the window down a bit and called out,

"Don’t forget to update me. Don’t go dark like last time," she warned, giving Karen a meaningful stare. "You’re in charge of that, got it?"

Karen gulped. "Got it!"

Yura’s gaze swept over all three of them. "I’ll be waiting for your report."

"Understood!" the three replied almost in sync before heading off.

---

They started by peeking through the lobby windows, trying to get a glimpse inside.

"Huh? Why’s it so empty in there?" Dila muttered, pressing her face against the glass. "Don’t tell me... they’re not here?"

She scanned the parking lot and spotted a familiar vehicle—the Norvalien family car, parked neatly under the shade.

So they had to be inside.

Then why was the front lobby completely deserted?

Rina frowned. "Could it be... they’re being questioned in a private room?"

Karen nodded slowly. "That... actually makes sense. This is a big case."

"Alright then," Dila said decisively, "we’re going in."

Both Rina and Karen nodded in agreement.

---

As soon as they stepped through the glass doors, they were greeted by the blast of cool air and the curious stares of a few officers behind the reception counter.

The girls approached immediately, trying to ask where Al was.

But the officers didn’t answer.

They exchanged glances, clearly surprised by the question. The case involving the Norvalien family had only arrived about thirty minutes ago—how did these girls already know about it?

Then one of the officers noticed their school uniforms—

Hazandeen International High School.

Elite kids, obviously. Probably curious about the latest rich-people gossip.

Still, even that didn’t give them the right to ask questions about an ongoing investigation.

"Officer, we’re just asking where—" Rina tried to insist.

"I’m sorry, miss, that information’s confidential," one of the officers interrupted flatly.

The three of them exchanged annoyed glances.

Rina tried again, more forcefully this time, "We just need to know if he’s okay! At least tell us what kind of case this is!"

But the more they pressed, the colder the responses became.

Eventually, other officers began looking over, frowning at the commotion.

"What’s going on here?" a tall, broad-shouldered officer barked, walking over.

"Hey! You girls—this is a police station, not a playground. Go home if you’ve got nothing better to do!" another younger officer snapped.

"Why should we leave?" Dila shot back instantly, glaring at him. "We just asked a question. Isn’t answering the public part of your job?"

The officers clearly didn’t appreciate the attitude. Instead of replying, they began herding the girls toward the exit.

"Go home, girls. Don’t cause trouble here," one of them said curtly.

Another added with a warning tone, "We don’t care which rich family you come from. Interfering with police work can still get you in trouble."

"But we know the person you brought in! We just want to check if he’s alright!" Rina protested, voice rising.

"Yeah, he’s our friend!" Karen added, desperate.

No one listened. The officers were losing patience fast.

"I said leave!" one of them barked, stepping forward.

Two female officers moved in, trying to gently but firmly push them out.

Rina clenched her fists, ready to argue again, but Dila caught her arm and shook her head.

"Not worth it," she whispered.

Meanwhile, Karen quickly grabbed her phone and texted Yura, reporting everything.

---

In the car, Yura and Devy read the message immediately.

"Hmph... looks like we’ll have to step in," Devy sighed, running a hand through her hair. "Didn’t think Al would get a special investigation. Guess that’s what happens when the elites get involved."

Yura’s lips curled slightly, a mix of irritation and pride flashing in her eyes.

"You’re right. Looks like the only girl destined for him will have to be the one to save him."

Devy chuckled under her breath. "You mean you."

"Exactly," Yura smirked. "He’s been ignoring me these past few days, and now he’s dragging me into this mess? Hmph... maybe it’s time I give him a little punishment later."

Devy just shook her head, amused. "You’re unbelievable."

They were about to step out of the car when—

The air suddenly changed.

Both of them froze. Their eyes widened as an invisible pressure washed over the area.

Their magical sensitivity flared instantly.

A heavy, oppressive aura filled the street out of nowhere.

From behind them, two vehicles approached—a sleek luxury car in front, followed by a large black van.

The aura was coming from there.

And it was powerful.

"Devy..." Yura’s voice dropped, tense. "You felt that too, right?"

Devy nodded slowly, her expression hardening. "Yeah. That wasn’t normal."

They watched as the two cars entered the police compound and parked near the entrance.

They couldn’t see clearly through the metal gates, but they caught glimpses—

Elegant figures stepping out of the luxury car, and from the van, several tall men in black suits with a distinctly intimidating air.

Yura and Devy exchanged looks. They didn’t know who those people were—and they didn’t need to.

Right now, Al was their only concern.

"Let’s move," Yura said.

And they did.

---

Inside the station—

Rina, Karen, and Dila were still in the middle of their tense standoff with the officers when the door suddenly opened.

Everyone stopped.

A group of people entered without a word.

Their presence alone was enough to silence the entire room.

An overwhelming sense of pressure filled the air, heavy enough to make breathing difficult.

The officers instinctively straightened, their bodies stiff. Even the chatter in the back of the room died instantly.

The three girls felt it too—

their hearts pounding like drums.

Their instincts screamed at them:

These people... were not ordinary.

Or maybe it was because they recognized who just walked in.

Dila’s lips parted slightly as her voice trembled.

"Wait... that’s..."

---

Meanwhile, inside the interrogation room, the atmosphere was completely dominated by the elite parents.

They wore faint, confident smirks — certain that in just a matter of minutes, Al would be escorted straight to the detention cell. And once that happened, they’d finally have full control over his fate.

But then, the door burst open as a police officer hurried in. He rushed to the chief and whispered something in his ear.

The chief’s eyes widened in shock. Without wasting a second, he darted toward the door—

—but before his hand could even touch the handle, the door swung open on its own.

A woman in a crisp, elegant uniform stepped inside, standing tall and composed, her very presence radiating authority.

She didn’t say a word—just stood there, silently making way.

Then, another woman appeared behind her.
