Naruto: Fatherhood Made me Invincible
Chapter 59 59: Ch 59
The Asura Path transformed into a living god of war, its mechanical arms unfolding as a barrage of missiles screamed through the air, leaving fiery trails in their wake as they shot towards Kagami like a deadly meteor shower.
Facing this overwhelming assault, Kagami's eyes were like a deep, ancient well—calm on the surface, but concealing a raging storm within. He didn't move his body, only raising his arm slightly. As his fingertips twitched, it was as if the very star trails of the cosmos were flowing from his palm.
Then, with a sudden, casual swing, a dazzling slash of energy tore through the sky, a pouring galaxy of destructive power that instantly intercepted the whistling missiles and charging beasts, smashing them all into oblivion.
"Hey, hey, hey, comeon man, don't be so angry," Kagami's clone said, his tone laced with a bored annoyance as he effortlessly dodged another volley of attacks. "For Konan's sake, I'll let this slide. But if you attack me again, I will not hold back."
The shells exploded, their roars tearing the surrounding space to pieces as dust and gravel were swept up in a chaotic maelstrom.
"Hmph. Forget it," Nagato sneered through his puppet. "Konan will never marry you!" He showed no intention of stopping. The Human Path flickered in and out of the smoke, a transparent chameleon at its side, both attempting to find a chink in Kagami's seemingly indestructible defense. The Asura Path charged like a bloodthirsty demon, a new array of technological weapons materializing around its body, each attack accompanied by a shrill roar. The Preta Path opened its mouth wide, attempting to devour Kagami's chakra.
Their attacks surged like a relentless tide, wave after wave, only to be shattered by another of Kagami's casual, dismissive strikes, turning to nothingness before they could even reach him.
"Since you atr so stubborn and disrespectful. I will teach you a lesson" Kagami's face darkened, a genuine flicker of unhappiness in his eyes. He didn't want to fight Nagato, not for Konan's sake, but the mans persistence had to be answered. He would teach Nagato that the weak have no right before the strong.
Nagato said nothing, but his attacks grew even more ferocious. The Naraka Path, hidden in the darkness, quickly formed hand seals, ready to summon the King of Hell and grant a second life to any of the fallen Paths. The Animal Path, positioned at the edge of the battlefield, continued its summons, a menagerie of monstrous beasts appearing from thin air, their roars and howls filling the air as they pounced madly on Kagami, trying to overwhelm him with sheer numbers and brute force.
But through it all, Kagami remained calm. Every move he made was precise, efficient, and utterly effortless.
"How disappointing," he said, his hands leisurely tucked into his pockets, a contemptuous sneer on his lips. "You're only at this level. Who gave you the courage to call yourself a God?"
His figure moved like a ghost across the battlefield, each step perfectly calculated to avoid the deadly assault, flowing around the attacks like water around a reef. He danced on the battlefield, his movements seemingly random yet containing a profound, terrifying combat skill. Having integrated the tenfold power of Sukuna's template, Kagami's combat talent was beyond comprehension. He was playing with Nagato as a cat plays with a mouse.
"You..." Nagato's eyes, seen through his puppets, were about to spit fire. A deep sense of frustration and powerlessness welled up in his heart. He had thought that with five Paths, he could at least pose a challenge to Kagami. He never expected that his full-powered assault wouldn't even force the man to take his hands out of his pockets. But he had to admit, Kagami's arrogance was well-earned.
"If only the Deva Path were here," Nagato gritted his teeth. But he did not lose his mind to anger. His goal was not to defeat Kagami, but to stall for time, to wait for the Sage of Six Paths.
Meanwhile, high atop one of the steel towers, the Sage of Six Paths watched the one-sided battle, a look of cold contempt in his eyes. "You can't even unleash the true power of the Rinnegan," he muttered. "What a waste." He had arrived some time ago, curious to see what Nagato was capable of, only to find that the boy couldn't even touch the corner of Kagami's clothes. He began to seriously reconsider whether Nagato was qualified to be his pawn.
Although he knew most of Nagato's power lay with the Deva Path, it didn't change his assessment. Almighty Push and Universal Pull were merely the most basic abilities of the Rinnegan. Its true power lay in the divine arts contained within.
Still, though Nagato's performance was disappointing, the Sage was not yet ready to give up on him. "However," he thought, his eyes cold and devoid of the kindness he showed to others, the mask of hypocrisy completely gone, "the original plan needs to be changed."
"Six Paths Soul Reincarnation Technique!"
He quickly formed a series of hand seals, and an invisible force began to gather, twisting and intertwining like ethereal snakes, finally condensing into a complex, ancient pattern that flickered with a faint, blue light. It was a technique he had developed himself, one that could revive the souls of the dead and summon them to fight for him. It required no cost, and the resurrected souls could unleash the full power of their prime. Its only drawback was that the summoned souls retained their own thoughts and could not be directly controlled.
However, since all souls containing chakra were ultimately under his control, this "drawback" was meaningless. To prepare for situations where it was inconvenient for him to act directly, he had already left his mark on the souls of many powerful individuals in the Pure Land.
