Naruto: I Am The System
Chapter 88 88: The New Generation Jokester
Logically, for safety's sake, Hiruzen Sarutobi definitely wouldn't have allowed Nawaki to leave Konoha. Don't forget—just recently he saw the legendary Uchiha Madara attack Nawaki!
Sarutobi once witnessed a young Madara's glory firsthand and was well aware of his overwhelming power. Now that Madara has fully recovered his strength, letting Nawaki go off alone—even with the White Fang or the Three Legendary Sannin—would be incredibly risky.
Yet, Nawaki managed to persuade Third Hokage Sarutobi in under ten minutes, convincing him to allow this departure to the Land of Earth.
"Flying Thunder God Technique… this is the legendary jutsu that allowed the Senju to stand against the Uchiha for centuries—truly a frightening talent." As Nawaki departed, Sarutobi watched with a mix of pride and worry. With Nawaki and Tsunade carrying the Senju name forward, the legacy of the clan lives on. If the First Hokage and Tobirama could see this, they would surely be proud.
Not even half a year ago, Nawaki was just a low-ranking Genin—and now he's mastered Flying Thunder God. Sarutobi felt a pang of inadequacy, despite his own genius, compared to these true prodigies.
With the Flying Thunder God sealing left behind, Nawaki easily left Konoha. Once out of sight, he activated his teleportation, vanishing in an instant.
He reappeared in a swirling desert—sand roiling around him. On the dynamic map, he spotted hidden Konoha scouts. Though the Flying Thunder God jutsu is powerful, it doesn't compare to his own teleportation!
Feigning ignorance, he entered their scan zone. Once his identity was confirmed and no disguise was used, a Konoha shinobi led him into their small desert camp.
As soon as he stepped in, Nawaki was stunned by someone bounding toward him in white hair, bouncing off the ground like a rubber ball, and crashing into a tent.
It was Jiraiya, emerging battered and covered in dirt. He rubbed his swollen shoulder with a crooked grin.
"Tsunade's strength keeps growing—getting punched like that could be fatal. Hey, Nawaki—didn't she tell you to stay home and train?" Jiraiya muttered. Spotting Nawaki, his face lit up.
Nawaki and Jiraiya have a close relationship. Jiraiya often invites him out to gather field material—sometimes earning Tsunade's ire. Nawaki sighed, pressing a hand to his forehead.
"Big Brother Jiraiya, what did you do to Sis this time?"
Jiraiya slumped, crestfallen.
"Ah, I'll tell you... Tsunade's getting more violent. I thought a new suit of armor would calm her down, but look at me now."
At that moment, a soft voice floated through the camp.
"Oh really?"
Jiraiya's forehead broke out in sweat. He turned to see Tsunade, her face dark. Before he could explain, there was a thud, and like a human cannonball, Jiraiya rocketed off into the distance.
Nawaki sighed in silent solidarity with his amicable big brother. He knew exactly what armor Jiraiya had in mind—the A+ ranked Flight Armor awarded from the Fairy Queen mission. It boosts movement and attack speeds—a great suit for a taijutsu ninja like Tsunade—but its design—leopard print with cat ears and revealing shorts—was clearly a recipe for disaster if Jiraiya actually convinced her to wear it.
He's convinced his intent was purely brotherly—but Tsunade obviously saw it otherwise.
Tsundere Tsunade finally stomped over and flicked Nawaki's forehead.
"Nawaki, why did you leave Konoha for the Land of Earth? Didn't I tell you you're not strong enough yet?"
Ouch—the flick was sharp. Nawaki rubbed his forehead, then looked back at Tsunade calmly.
"Sister, I got Third Hokage's permission before leaving. And I'm stronger now—I can take care of myself."
Tsunade's lips curved into a mischievous smile.
"Oh really—what's this strength of yours?"
Suddenly, Nawaki vanished—right before Tsunade's eyes—with no sound or clue of movement! Half a second later, he reappeared right in front of her, smiling with quiet pride.
"Well? Sister?"
"Is that… the Flying Thunder God Technique?" Tsunade gasped. Her mind raced—had Nawaki really mastered Space-Time Jutsu, the pinnacle technique created by their grandfather Tobirama? To think Nawaki mastered it in mere months!
Tsunade paused, her trust warring with doubt. Could he have become a reincarnator? But that would require earning an impossible amount of points from the Lord God System. Plus, if he were truly a reincarnator, she'd sense it through the Avalon replica she gave him.
Shaking her head, Tsunade dismissed the idea. Though wary, she smiled at her brother, pride brightening her eyes.
