Chapter 64: Terrifying Hidden Force
"There's a terrifying force hidden in the Ninja World. I suspect that the rebellion of the Gold and Silver Brothers, the destruction of the Land of Whirlpools, and the battles between Kirigakure and Iwagakure might all be related to this force." Mito said with a serious expression.
"Kirigakure and Iwagakure?" Kazuki thought of the Second Tsuchikage and Second Mizukage.
To be honest, during the First Great Ninja War, it was unexpected that those two would fight.
After all, the Land of Water is in the southeast and the Land of Earth is in the northwest, these two countries could be described as poles apart.
Yet, during the Great Ninja War, these two countries fought to the death, relentlessly, and the reason for their conflict seemed baffling, but they indeed fought.
Initially, Kazuki suspected that Tobirama had instigated the conflict between the two countries, as Tobirama had done many disgusting things.
After all, in that era, if anything conspiratorial happened, Kazuki's first suspect was Tobirama.
It was just like how, in the future, whenever something happened, Kazuki would suspect Danzo.
"Yes! These White Zetsu can clearly impersonate others perfectly." Mito sighed with emotion.
"But don't worry, there are no White Zetsu in Konoha. You don't need to worry about the people in the village, but once you go outside, you must be careful of everything out there."
"Before, I thought it was just an isolated incident, but now it seems they are making a comeback. They've even targeted you."
Mito was now unwilling to let Kushina go out again. Kazuki could protect himself, but Kushina absolutely could not.
And Nawaki also needed to be restrained. If anything happened to Nawaki, it was hard to guarantee that the people below wouldn't erupt.
Both Tsunade and Nawaki could trigger the Second Great Ninja War.
Even though they had been trying to weaken the Senju clan's influence on Konoha over the years, Nawaki was the First Hokage's grandson and an object of much attention.
Their birth destined them to be extraordinary.
Unless one day they stopped being Ninja.
Mito saw this very clearly. Nawaki, this child, constantly clamored about wanting to become Hokage.
Mito had hinted at it more than once, but Nawaki, unlike Tsunade, was in many ways like Hashirama—a bit naive!
Unfortunately, Nawaki did not have Hashirama's excellent talent, and was even slightly inferior to Tsunade. In the future, he might become a pillar of Konoha, but wanting to become Hokage would make it difficult to gain widespread support.
Especially after Kazuki's sudden rise, it would be difficult for anyone in the younger generation to gain widespread support as Hokage, and Kazuki himself was politically unlikely to become Hokage.
However, these were matters for after her death. Being Hokage had its advantages, but not being Hokage didn't prove anything.
Hashirama had been very detached about it back then. If Tobirama hadn't constantly caused trouble, perhaps the First Hokage would have been Madara.
"Grandma Mito, don't worry, I'll stay in the village from now on." Kushina, sensing Mito's concern, immediately promised.
"Mm, Kushina is a good child."
Mito stroked Kushina's red hair, then glanced at Nawaki, who was curiously listening to the story but showed no reaction, and sighed inwardly. She could only try to guide her foolish grandson a little.
As they were talking, Tsunade returned home, looking exhausted. She sat down unceremoniously, picked up a pastry, and began to eat.
Mito didn't scold Tsunade. She was quite satisfied with this granddaughter. She was intelligent and didn't want to be Hokage. Her talent was excellent. Although she couldn't become a true top-tier powerhouse, she was first-rate in Medical Ninjutsu. Tsunade was the most talented Medical Ninja Mito had ever seen.
Becoming the Ninja World's top Medical Ninja in the future could give Tsunade the ability to protect herself.
After Tsunade swallowed a pastry, she asked Mito, "Grandma, did that brat Kazuki tell you about those White Zetsu?"
"Mm, he did."
Mito glanced at Kazuki, and Kazuki, understanding, repeated what Mito had said earlier.
This made Tsunade's expression turn grim. There was such a hidden force in the Ninja World?
This was definitely not good for Konoha.
"You guys, do you think this matter might be targeting Mito-sama?" Kazuki suddenly asked.
Everyone else turned to look at Kazuki.
"The matters of the Uzumaki clan are very likely related to that mastermind. This could be targeting Konoha, or it could be targeting you, Mito-sama."
"If it truly comes down to it, you would have to act, and once you do, the situation afterward wouldn't be too good."
Kazuki's words did not anger Mito. Instead, she looked at Kazuki with a loving expression, signaling him to continue.
Kazuki spoke eloquently, "Once something happens to you, Mito-sama, no one will be able to control the Nine-Tails's power, at least temporarily. That way, those White Zetsu can enter Konoha and continue to lurk among us, and no one will be able to detect their existence."
"However, we still need to guard against the hidden mastermind, as there are some overt schemes that we cannot avoid."
Kazuki had been thinking during this time why there were so many White Zetsu around them.
After much thought, he realized that Kushina might have been targeted, but the most crucial target was still Mito.
The target was probably the only existence Madara currently deemed worthy of his attention.
"Kazuki, you are even more excellent than I imagined." Mito praised Kazuki with satisfaction.
She then turned her gaze to Tsunade and said, "You can tell Hiruzen about this when you have time."
"Tell him to be prepared. The Great Ninja War could begin at any time."
"I understand."
Tsunade picked up two more pastries from the table and hurried towards the Hokage Office.
…
However, Hiruzen was not in the Hokage Office at this moment.
After Tsunade left, he carefully observed the White Zetsu, then called the Anbu to take the White Zetsu corpse, and hurried towards the Root Base.
Even Hiruzen was quite unfamiliar with the Root Base, he rarely paid attention to Root matters.
This was not only because he trusted Danzo, but also because Danzo had his own power base in Konoha. While the Hokage was the leader of Konoha, it was not to the extent of being able to dictate everything.
Hashirama and Tobirama might have been able to, but Hiruzen could not.
To stabilize Konoha's situation, Hiruzen was destined to delegate some authority.
