It was at this moment that Kazuo’s eyes turned golden, a clock appearing inside them as it started spinning backward, the entire world turning black and white.

‘What’s happening?’ Kazuo thought to himself, before he felt it, he turned his head and saw it, his main body was floating midair hundreds of meters away, and all around him, white tentacles of smoke could be seen.

‘What the fuck is that?’ Kazuo thought before time rewound itself.

A few minutes earlier.

The real Kazuo had been leaning against the railing, watching every event unfold, when he had suddenly felt a presence behind him.

‘Someone...’ Kauzo thought, but before he could even organize his thoughts completely, he felt something grab all four of his limbs in an instant, caging him and lifting him off the ground.

Looking down, he saw it, it was like tentacles of smoke that had turned tangible and were now holding him in place.

At this moment, a part of the smoke condensed and formed a masked face.

“Kazuo Hyuga, you certainly are an annoyance to our plans. If it hadn’t been for you, my plans would have already been in full motion.” The man spoke in a deep, gravelly voice.

‘Madara’s new puppet? Smoke? Is that his mangekyou?’ Kazuo thought, however, that he avoided glancing into the small mask eyeholes.

Before Kazuo could even do anything, the smoke figure seemed to grow an eerie smile before the smoke that had been entangling Kazuo’s limbs crawled up his face and rushed inside of him through every orifice it could find. His nose, Ears, Mouth, and even through his eyes.

*Grlllg*

Kazuo’s body quickly started inflating as an impossible amount of smoke rushed into his body before finally.

*Plop*

His body ripped apart, bursting at the seams, organs spewing out of his abdomen.

This was the moment that time had rewound itself back.

The black and white world rewound, every motion turning in reverse before Kazuo was once more leaning against the railing.

‘That fucker… that fucking hurt, you son of a bitch.’ Kazuo thought to himself as he quickly created a pair of paper wings, not wasting a single moment, and he flew into the air with a quick flap.

It was at this moment that he heard a notification-like sound inside his head.

[ New Mission has been generated ]

[ Survive the Masked Man ]

[ Reward: Random Elemental Chakra Nature. Random Legendary Weapon. ]

[ Condition: User has to complete the Mission within 50 turns to claim the rewards. ]

[ Failure: Death ]

Kazuo gazed at the status panel that had appeared before his eyes before his expression changed, the corners of his mouth rose, and a devilish smile appeared on his face.

‘Ah… never mind, I love you, masked man.’ Kazuo thought insidiously to himself, barely able to contain his joy as he gazed around, still on high alert even though he had been gazing at the status panel, he hadn’t lost his cool at all.

It was at this moment that Kazuo noticed something appearing behind him.

Not wasting a single moment, he quickly flew even higher whilst at the same time making hand signs quickly before putting two fingers close to his mouth.

In an instant, his chest expanded before a rush of water came out of his mouth, like a stream as it headed straight below him, where he had just been positioned before.

‘He can transform himself into smoke. Fire could work, however, smoke is closely related to fire, and he may have the ability to use fire as well. Giving it to him right now isn't a wise choice. Water is a much safer option.’ Kazuo thought to himself as he continued releasing the massive stream of water towards the ground, his chakra reserves starting to get drained at an insane rate as he created the water.

‘Usually, this would be a major waste of chakra however, I have no choice, I need to see just how much damage a full-powered water jutsu can do to him.’ Kazuo thought to himself before he finally released the jutsu, lowering his fingers.

Looking down below him, the entire street and buildings below him had been ruined, destroyed by the ferocious water wave, and there was no smoke-masked man in sight.

The buildings and streets were completely flooded with water that was continuing to rush away from the point of impact towards other streets and inside houses and buildings.

‘It didn’t kill him, that's for sure, or I would have received the rewards for the mission.’ Kazuo thought as he glanced around warily.

Suddenly, without any sign at all. Kazuo felt his stomach start getting bloated.

‘What? How.’ Kazuo thought, however, before he could even start moving his chakra to do something, anything.

*Plshhh* *Bang*

His entire body burst from the inside once more, even more aggressively than before.

Guts spilling everywhere and falling to the ground, the paper wings behind him quickly being covered with blood as they started dispersing. What was left of his ravaged body started falling down towards the flooded ground.

Kazuo’s final thoughts were as usual…

‘You damned ashtray…’
