Chapter 62 - 62 29 Black Prison
62: Chapter 29 Black Prison 62: Chapter 29 Black Prison Inside the luxurious car, the handsome man,
carefully placed the magnetic tape that suddenly appeared in his hand into a specially-made briefcase.
Only after closing the briefcase and locking the code did he let out a slow sigh of relief.
“Now that we’ve got the ‘Song of Extinction,’ our plan is already halfway to success,” said the beautiful woman seated next to him in a short skirt.
She caressed the man’s face with an infatuated smile and said, “I’m already looking forward to the reward that lord will bestow upon us once the mission is complete.
Both you and I now have a firm grasp on achieving our Fifth Awakening.”
“Don’t let your guard down!
‘Black Umbrella’ has still met with trouble.
According to the original plan, he was supposed to launch a diversionary attack on the East City Branch of the Processing Department after initiating the plan, along with the Taboo Items and followers.
But…
he capsized in the gutter, and then three followers went missing too….”
At this point, the handsome man’s face darkened slightly, yet he lifted the woman into his arms and his hand slipped under her skirt, saying, “If it weren’t for the fact that those three followers didn’t qualify to know the details of the plan, or have the right to enter ‘Ark’, I wouldn’t dare set foot in No.3 Border City!”
The place is known as Border City precisely because it is closest to the Disaster Forbidden Zone.
It is humanity’s frontline fortress against the Calamity, potent within.
With four branches and one headquarters, they possess numerous strong Processors and a large number of Taboo Items.
Moreover, within No.3 Border City resides an old-timer who has survived the Calamity and fought his way out from the Disaster Fog.
For them, and even for ‘Ark’, this is a highly dangerous location.
If not for the extravagant reward, he had no intention of risking danger by coming here.
Flustered by the man’s actions, the woman blushed and giggled, “It’s fine, with the ‘Song of Extinction’ at our disposal, they’ll be too preoccupied with themselves when the time comes.
Those cunning Taboo Items won’t miss such an opportunity to escape, and that will be trouble enough for them.
Let’s continue with the plan…”
“And what we ‘re supposed to do is not to destroy Giant City,” the woman leaned into the man’s embrace, whispering in his ear, “but to force that king to make a move, to see if he has keeled over dead yet…”
“To force that…
Old Mad King to make a move!” the man whispered, as if he feared the name of that king, his voice barely audible.
The Old Mad King, the former Mad King.
A powerful being who had challenged the King of Restricted Zone, who had against all odds led humanity’s armies to this place and founded No.3 Border City under the noses of the three major restricted areas.
Guarding the three major restricted areas!
He even vowed to reclaim 12.6 million square kilometers of territory one day.
That would mean eradicating several Forbidden Zones, utterly audacious!
Hence, he was called the Mad King by the King of the Restricted Zone.
To be acknowledged by the King of the Restricted Zone as a human, what an accolade it was.
But he possessed the mighty strength to match the title.
Even in his prime, the King of the Restricted Zone did not wish to clash with No.3 Border City.
But now, as a Spiritual Ability User, he had aged under the torment of a curse.
Perhaps aged to the point of unrecognizability….
Someone wanted to know if the Old Mad King could still battle and thus concocted a mad plan.
And ‘Ark’ served as the intermediary in this transaction.
As an organization existing outside of the Physical World, this collective did not distinguish between good and evil.
‘Ark’ was more like a place of exchange unaffected by physical distance.
Its leader, or rather Captain, would find Spiritual Ability Users qualified to enter, offering them an exclusive ticket.
This allowed members of ‘Ark’ from all over the world, to gather in one place.
They traded information, items, or issued missions within ‘Ark’.
Such functionality resulted in a rapid enhancement of their strength, and they have become a vast entity hidden in the shadows.
They addressed each other with code names, their true identities unknown to one another.
And this time, a mysterious guest issued a very generously rewarded mission within ‘Ark’, generous enough that many ‘Ark’ members were willing to join hands and take the risk.
Who could this mysterious guest be?
Could it possibly be one of the Kings of the Restricted Zone?
The handsome man pondered.
Then, the vehicle slowly stopped, the door opened, and the beautiful woman with the briefcase vanished without a trace.
Only the handsome man stepped out of the car, waving to the fans on both sides.
A smile full of warmth and enthusiasm on his face, no one could see the indifference and madness hidden in his eyes behind his sunglasses.
…
Meanwhile, Li Yelai had arrived at the branch and saw many old acquaintances.
Starfire, Shadow Stream, Heavy Knight, Detective – all were present at the branch.
“How coincidental, if you’re going to eat, count me in,” greeted Li Yelai as he approached.
“I heard you’ve had your Second Awakening,” said Heavy Knight, the girl devoid of sadness or joy, her pale face showing a hint of a smile for the first time, “Congratulations!
I will catch up to you soon.”
Heavy Knight had been busy too, although not as unlucky as Li Yelai, who always ran into trouble.
But she had resolved several dangerous incidents as well and was on the verge of breaking through.
“Right, keep it up, be wary of the enticement of the Void Realm’s power,” Li Yelai, remembering his own visions during his breakthrough.
Discarding the image of Heavy Knight’s revealing attire in his mind, he solemnly reminded her, “Don’t believe you’re successful until it’s really over.
Don’t let any visions lead you astray.
They’re all fake!”
“I’ll remember that, thank you.
When I surpass you, I’ll share my experience with you too,” Heavy Knight nodded.
Detective dug in her ear and widened her eyes, asking, “What did he mean by his time?
Surpassing him?”
