CHAPTER 213: CHILD THEY SPOKE FONDLY OF
Aristia’s eyes slowly opened. She sat up on her bed, looking around. She was still on her bed and it was early in the morning.
Using the dim light, she glanced at the grandfather clock. It read 5:30 in the morning.
She looked away from the clock and frowned.
What was that? If that was a dream... it was quite detailed.
But why would she dream about Charlotte when she hadn’t even been thinking about her or Wade.
Thinking of the ominous dream again, Aristia shook her head. None of those events were real. Charlotte was now mending her relationship with her husband and stepson, and the family had become noticeably happier.
Despite thinking that, Aristia guessed that the dream was probably the events of that world that were meant to happen before she entered the world that weren’t written about in the book.
[Somehow, there seems to be a lot of events that weren’t present in the book and were inconsistent with the book’s information.] Aristia rolled her eyes sarcastically.
Of course, she had become aware of this a long time ago.
She was also aware that her actions had tampered with the world’s original plot, but to what extent, she didn’t know.
Not being able to rely on the knowledge the novel provided about what was going to happen made Aristia a bit tense about the things she didn’t know.
From what she had seen in the dream, it was obvious that in the original plot, she wouldn’t approach Charlotte or it was better to say that original Aristia wouldn’t. Catherine also wouldn’t have gotten along with Charlotte and introduced her to her group.
Wade wouldn’t have made friends easily and stood up for himself along with Charlotte to stop the blatant and unhidden mockery they received from the nobility, and the relationship between Charlotte, George and Wade would never have taken a turn for the better.
Charlotte wouldn’t have asked for a divorce and would have continued to drown in misery until she became poisoned and died.
All these things were different from the novel and different from reality.
She had indirectly and unknowingly influenced the outcome and changed the plot which meant that there was a high chance that Charlotte would not die.
She rubbed her forehead. [Ah! This world is really too troublesome. But this change probably won’t affect the world too much since the novel hasn’t officially begun. I think...]
What Aristia was most worried about was the consequences the change in the novel’s major starting event would bring since she had made great changes from the original plotline.
Such a drastic change in a major event right at the beginning of the world’s official starting was supposed to cause something.
Would the world try to move everything back in place?
Aristia thought about it for a while before she decided to not worry her pretty self.
She thought of something. [Right. From the dream, Wade was six years old when Charlotte died. He’s six years old now and Charlotte hasn’t become sick. I think nothing’s going to happen to her.]
Thinking of this made her relax.
"I still have training with the captain." She yawned and stretched her arms.
Training with the Captain was the same as usual, with Alaric joining as usual. Owen was there too.
Aristia was still getting the hang of controlling her aura. It was a lot easier than before, probably because she had partially bonded with Millie.
She soon forgot about the dream she had.
After the training, they headed to the dining room for breakfast.
"There’s a tea party in three days, hosted by Duchess Winston. We’re attending." Catherine announced as they ate.
Everyone nodded.
After breakfast, Aristia had to attend her history class, while Alaric headed for his literary lesson.
The days passed in a blur.
It was now the day of Duchess Winston’s tea party.
The family of the Grand Duke left for the Winston mansion.
When they arrived, they were greeted by Duchess Winston and left for the venue the tea party was being held in.
Quite a lot of people were there, moving about with fake smiles plastered on their faces.
Aristia instinctively looked around. She saw a lot of familiar faces. Among them, her eyes eventually met Wade’s.
He waved at her with a bright smile on his face.
Aristia returned it before looking away, her eyes stopping on Charlotte and George beside him. She then focused on Charlotte.
This Charlotte looked very different from that Charlotte that had a blank gaze as if she had lost all hope. As if she had given up.
Charlotte also looked at her when she noticed her gaze, smiling softly at her.
George followed her gaze, and seeing that it was just that third princess that his wife and son always spoke fondly about that he was almost jealous, he bowed lightly at her. She was higher in status, after all.
Aristia returned the greeting with a small curtsey.
She remembered something. "Aunt Rowaine gave Charlotte a month to decide whether to still get a divorce or not. A month’s already up."
In fact, a month had been up quite a long time ago. Charlotte attending the tea party as Marquis Oswalt’s wife only meant one thing...
Aristia and her family walked deeper into the garden, mingling with the invited nobles.
Many people’s gazes were focused on Marquis Oswalt and his family. Aristia noticed that their gazes had changed.
Usually, they stared at them with gossipy interest, then it changed to a mocking, enjoying gaze, probably when they found out that Charlotte was seeking a divorce.
But now, their gaze was confused. They were probably wondering why the three seemed so cooperative. Shouldn’t they be acting distant as usual? Why were they being so harmonious now?
As Aristia seperated from her parents, she managed to overhear a group of noblewomen gossiping, all belonging to minor nobility.
On listening closely, Aristia realized that the subject of their discussion was actually... Charlotte.
