New World, New Life: I Became A Bigshot In The Ancient World
Chapter 218: INVISIBLE
CHAPTER 218: INVISIBLE
As they walked closer, those in their group had already turned at the sound of approaching footsteps.
Their eyes widened slightly when they saw the two who were coming.
Aristia stopped in front of them.
"I want to introduce you to someone. This is—"
"Vivian Quentin."
It wasn’t that she had been interrupted. It was just that they had all said it at the same time.
[Of course everyone knows her.] Aristia thought.
It wasn’t just became of her unique features, but what had transpired between them when they were younger. Because Aristia had pushed her when they were little atop The insensitive questions l she had asked her.
But now, Aristia was with her.
Of course they wouldn’t question it, and they had also heard that the two had become friends. They were just surprised at the confirmation, because for Aristia to bring her to their group was enough confirmation.
"And you know who they are, right?" Aristia asked Vivian.
Vivian nodded, "Yes."
She knew all of them. Who didn’t? These children were from pure nobility. Everyone knew them.
There was a bit of a silence because no one obviously knew what to say to this newcomer.
Finally, Paige said.
"Since you’re Princess Tia’s friend, then you’re welcome to stay with us anytime." She said.
After she spoke, the others nodded. "Yes."
"Thank you, young master’s and misses." Vivian nodded.
It didn’t take long for the people in the group to forget Vivian.
[What?!] Aristia was shocked.
Vivian was right there in the group, and even with her beautiful face, mauve hair and turquoise eyes, she should have been very noticeable.
But it was like everyone had forgotten her, and no one even glanced her way.
And the weird thing was that Vivian seemed used to it. She wasn’t trying to draw their attention to her or join in the conversation, instead, she was occasionally state at Aristia.
[She has a very low presence.] Aristia thought.
Even just standing there and not being noticed.
[That’s a skill in itself.] Aristia thought.
A fleeting thought flashed through her mind and her eyes narrowed.
A few people approached them.
Seeing who it was, Aristia smiled sweetly.
Ian Winston and some others stood in front of their group.
These people were from pure nobility.
Nobility was intricate, and pure nobility was even more so.
Even though they weren’t very close or didn’t like each other, those in pure nobility maintained a certain relationship with each other, and it usually extended to the children.
Like now, Ian Winston wasn’t especially close to them, but he had approached their group now to mingle.
This was because those in pure nobility viewed themselves as the superior nobility, so they preferred to mingle with each other.
This was why one would usually see children from pure nobility together, surrounded by children from minor nobility.
After a few greetings were exchanged between the two groups, the group was expanded.
Zachary Splane averted his eyes when he glanced at Aristia.
Aristia laughed, making them all turn to her.
"Oh, Laura. You’re so funny." She said.
Lauren’s face was confused. "But I didn’t say anything."
"Haha, you’re really funny." Aristia shook her head.
Lauren stared at her with confusion, then shrugged.
This time, Ian Winston’s group didn’t say any words to Wade, making the group seem a bit harmonious.
And so Ivan, Liam, Ian and the other boys talked about swords, while the girls were left to talk about... dolls and dresses and jewelry and tea parties.
Soon, everyone had to take their seats. It was time for the banquet to begin.
The group moved to take their seats, and just as Vivian was about to leave to sit with her family.
"Vivian, where are you going?" Aristia asked.
"Huh?" Question marks hung ahead not just Vivian, but the faces of the others.
"I forgot she was here." Nova whispered with her hand on her mouth.
Only then did Ian and the others look at Vivian.
"I didn’t know she was here..."
Aristia, "...!"
Seeing Vivian looking at her, she turned to her. "Sit beside me."
Everyone, "..."
Vivian, "...!"
They were all speechless.
And so Vivian was seating beside Aristia. It slightly disrupted the seating arrangement, but no one would say anything to the beloved third princess.
When Count and Countess Quentin heard this, they couldn’t keep from smiling and boasting proudly.
The other aristocrats glanced at their children with disapproval. What were their children doing?
That Quentin girl was already this close to the princess when before they hadn’t been that way, and what were their own children doing? They couldn’t even get close to any of the princesses! They couldn’t help but gaze at the Quentin couple with envy.
Everyone obediently took their seats.
This time, children weren’t seperated from the adults.
Fedor and Rowaine sat on a table with Rowaine, Wilson, Catherine, his parents and the envoys.
On other tables sat the rest of the aristocracy.
The feast began after a few words from Fedor.
Suddenly, Fedor clinked his glass with a spoon, drawing everyone’s attention.
"As you all know, around this time last year, The Vanilla Courtyard gifted us the exquisite delicacy we know as doughnuts." The king’s words stirred curiosity in everyone’s hearts.
Why was the king bringing this up now?
Fedor continued, "The Vanilla Courtyard has sent another delight in honor of the Kingdom’s celebration."
Servants filed in at his words, carrying jugs.
The Aristocrats watched them curiously with anticipation. Even the envoys seated with the king were also curious.
They had been present during the last anniversary celebration at the palace and had gotten to taste the Queen’s gift then, and now they couldn’t help but anticipate this gift now.
When they arrived at Amberale, they had quickly gone to The Vanilla Courtyard for meals.
The royal family did not insist on them having meals in the palace so they did not hesitate to have meals at the restaurant.
The servants filled each person’s glass with the drink, bowed and left, leaving everyone looking into their glass.
