CHAPTER 263: EVALEEN THE FAIRY— ELF HYBRID

Aristia and Millie finally arrived at the edge of the forest.

There was a bustling village or town in front of them. They stopped to observe the people moving around.

"Oh my God." Aristia stared at them in awe.

There were beautiful people she was sure were fairies moving around. Some were flying, some weren’t. Some walked with their wings out, but some didn’t.

There were also others with extremely pointed ears. "Elves...?"

There were cottages on both sides of the street.

She got off Millie and the latter morphed into a fox.

Aristia picked her up and walked into the village.

She quickly joined the crowd, hoping to blend in and praying that no one noticed that she was human.

She didn’t know how they viewed humans. For all she knew, they could be very hostile towards them.

So she hurried her face in Millie’s form while trying to not be noticed.

"... Okay, mama."

The wind carried a voice in her direction.

Aristia turned to look.

"It’s her." She whispered to Millie. "The fairy mother and daughter we saw. ."

It was the little fairy they saw flying across the forest with a woman.

She looked like an elf as she had pointed ears like the elves, but she had wings.

"What could she be?" She mumbled to herself.

The girl left the doorway where she had been responding to her mother and fully left the house.

She bent down and plucked a few flowers from the surrounding of the house before turning around.

Their eyes met at that moment.

She glanced at the flowers in her hands before looking back up at Aristia.

A second later, she flew towards her.

"Hello."

"Hello..." Aristia replied, taking in her features.

The little fairy looked about the same age as herself. She had long wavy silver hair, round emerald doe-like eyes and pink lips.

She had chubby cheeks and a natural blush that made one want to pinch them and made her look cute. She was really cute and adorable.

She was wearing a light green dress that stopped just above her knees and a flower was on her head.

Just as Aristia was doing, the girl was also doing the same.

"I’m Evaleen. You are...?"

"I’m Aristia." Aristia replied a bit unsure.

"Nice to meet you, Aristia." She turned her gaze to Aristia’s clothes. "You dress differently... You’re not from around her are you?"

Aristia smiled. "Is it that obvious?" She shook her head.

"Eva?" A gentle voice came from the cottage.

Evaleen turned her face toward the cottage. "I’m coming, mama!" She yelled.

She turned back to Aristia. "Why don’t you join us for lunch?"

Aristia considered for a bit.

’I probably should go back to the river, but... I’m curious how fairy food tastes.’

[Besides, was it fairies... elves, whatever, mythical creatures’ culture to invite strangers to their home for a meal? If that is so, it may be offensive to refuse. And since I’m posing as a fairy, I’m supposed to know their culture. If I refuse, it’ll be suspicious.]

With that excuse... ahem! With that reasonable thought, she nodded.

"I would love to."

"Then come in." With the bundle of flowers in her hands, Evaleen gestured towards the door.

While they walked, her eyes landed on Millie.

"That’s a very beautiful fox you have there."

"Thanks." Aristia nodded.

Evaleen opened the door of the small but beautiful cottage.

However, when Aristia entered, her eyes widened in surprise.

[Wow... It’s so large on the inside.]

From the outside, the cottage looked really small. But upon entering, it was about the same size as a normal house.

"Eva? Who might this be?" Aristia’s attention was brought back by the new person.

[That must be Evaleen’s mother.] She thought.

Evaleen’s mother was a beauty with straight waist long blonde hair. She had emerald green eyes and her lips were red in colour. She also had a natural blush on her cheeks. Her ears were slightly pointy at the tips as she was a fairy.

"This is Aristia, mama." Evaleen said, going to arrange the flowers inside a vase. "She’s my new friend."

Evaleen’s mother turned to Aristia with a gentle smile, causing her emerald green eyes to sparkle. "Well, hello there, Aristia."

"Hello, Evaleen’s mother." Aristia greeted.

Ethera’s smile widened. "I’m Ethera. You can call me Ethera. Join us for lunch. Such a pretty child."

"Thank you," Aristia smiled back.

Ethera turned back towards the dining table and Aristia and Evaleen followed.

With a hand motion from Ethera, Aristia watched as plates of food floated out of what she guessed was the kitchen onto the dining table.

Just as the table had been set, the cottage’s door opened.

A handsome pair of man and boy entered.

Aristia could tell immediately that they were Evaleen’s father and older brother.

"We’re back, mama and Eva." The boy said, smiling lightly.

"Come eat lunch." Ethera smiled at the both of them.

The two noticed Aristia but didn’t say anything until they sat down at the table to eat.

"Hello, who might you be?" Ethera’s husband asked. It was obvious that he was of the elf race.

[Fairies and elves having children together?] She was a bit surprised, but that explained Evaleen’s pointier ears. [Maybe she’s a hybrid?]

Evaleen replied before Aristia could.

"This is my friend, Aristia."

"Hello." Aristia waved.

The family welcomed her.

[Are all fairies and elves this hospitable?] Aristia wondered.

"I’m Brucie." The man introduced.

He possessed long silver hair, black eyes, and a sharp face and jawline. His ears were pointed too. Truly handsome.

"I’m Ivor." Evaleen’s brother said.

He had long blond hair and his father’s grey eyes. He also had pointy ears but he didn’t look like he was a hybrid like Evaleen. He seemed to have inherited the elf’s ability from their father.

"Hello, Ivor." Aristia smiled, then sid. "My brother’s name is Ivan."

Ethera laughed. "Maybe Ivor can meet him sometime."

[Not anytime soon. I think.] Aristia thought.

"And who’s the fox?" Ivor asked, glancing at the animal on her lap with interest.

"Ah... this is Mille."

Ivor nodded his head.

Aristia turned her gaze to the table. There were sweet things on the table.

She didn’t recognize most of the food on the table.

After the meal, Ethera cleared the table with her fairy magic.

"Mama, I’m going outside to play with Aristia." Evaleen said, grabbing Aristia’s hand and dragging her outside.

Ethera smiled. "Alright. Make sure to not get hurt."

Only Evaleen’s response was heard since her body had already left the door.

"So where are you from?" Evaleen asked.

[The question I’ve been dreading.] Aristia thought.

"I’m from another... village. I got lost in the forest and ended up here in your village."

[That should be safe enough.]

Evaleen nodded slowly. "I see... But you’re human."
