New World with Four Husbands
Chapter 210: He’s fine
CHAPTER 210: HE’S FINE
Quizen stared at Coco, his eyes glued to her bright and cheerful face.
The mediator watched the black haired woman, his gaze following her every move, his attention focused on her, not leaving her form.
He took in every detail of her appearance, the way her black hair fell across her forehead, the line of her jaw, the way the corner of her eyes crinkled as she smiled, her eyes shining with delight.
He noticed the way her shoulders rolled as she relaxed and the way her lips curled up as she spoke to the pink haired mediator, and the way she tilted her head forward, laughing and revealing her neck.
He could see the way her body language changed in real time, the softness of her exposed skins looking supple that it was as if they were screaming for him to reach out and touch it.
"I want her."
Zaque’s voice suddenly echoed in the back of his mind, his eyes flickering from Coco’s eyes down to her lips.
His gaze was intense, his eyes taking in every detail of her form, from her face to her lips, to her hands— that was still in his employer’s hands, holding his hand.
He studied her every movement, his eyes drinking in her friendly gestures and expressions that seem so lovely for some reason.
He watched her with an intensity that was almost like he was drunk, as if her movements were the most fascinating thing he had ever seen and he couldn’t look away, his mind and senses consumed by everything about her.
He studied her intently, his gaze drinking in every detail of her features.
It was fascinating to see how the woman he had known for the last two years had so much pure joy and excitement in her face, it was usually just twisted into a scowl or a sneer— always pointed at him or one of the husbands.
He placed his elbow on the counter, leaning his chin on his palm as he kept his eyes on Coco’s face.
"Sure! We can celebrate right away! It’s the reason why I’m here in the first place." Coco laughed, her eyes filled with mirth and joy.
His eyes caught the way her hair fluttered in the breeze that seeped through one of the pub’s windows, the way her linen shirt clung to her body, the way her eyes flashed with life and passion.
He was entranced by her, his attention captured by her every move, his heart feeling strangely fast.
Weird. He thought to himself, his expression was one of blank, but focused, his eyes filled with a deep admiration and awe, as if he was looking at something precious and rare— something that he was unaware of.
"Would your husband join us?" Joachim asked, making Quizen snap his gaze away from Coco’s face to look at his employer.
"Why not? My wife paid off her debt, isn’t that worth celebrating for?" Quizen quipped, his lips curling up into a smile, amused, happy, proud, and slightly obnoxious— all can be sensed from his smile and statement alone.
"Oh, yeah!" Coco chimed in and turned to Quizen, "Why don’t you go to the house and call for the others? We can eat dinner here!"
Amidst of Coco’s excitement, her hand reached out to touch Quizen’s arm, her hand was warm and firm, but gently holding his limb as if it was the most fragile thing that would break with a single touch.
"Sure." Quizen answered before he could think, his lips moving to say the word out loud.
"Great, I’ll be waiting here with Joachim, okay?" Coco smiled at him, the usual friendly and welcoming smile she always shows to the people around her.
However, the sight of it made Quizen’s heart lurch upward, as if wanting to jump out.
"You called me by my name!" Joachim squealed, not bothering to hide his excitement and happiness at how Coco pronounced his name like he was one of her old friends, "I’ve been waiting for this day! I’ll ask En to cook you something delicious so you can forever remember this day!"
Coco laughed at that, shaking her head. "You’re so silly. You don’t have to ask the chef to do that, I don’t want to bother anyone—"
She was mid-sentence when she suddenly felt something on her shoulder, her words stalled in her throat as she flinched in her seat and she turned to look, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
Her eyes fixed on the blue haired mediator, her eyebrows raising in surprise as she saw him burying his face into her shoulder, hiding his features from her.
"Quizen?" She was taken aback, her mind racing with confusion at his behaviour, her body frozen in place as she tried to process what was happening and what could possibly be wrong with the fourth husband.
"You okay?" Coco asked as she shifted in her seat and faced him, making him bury his face on the curve of her neck instead.
"What’s wrong, Quizen?" Joachim stopped talking animatedly and turned to the blue haired mediator, the tone of worry lacing his voice as he eyed his favored singer and musician.
"Are you sick? Do you want me to take you home?" Coco asked again, her hands holding Quizen’s hands that shoot out to grab her.
Joachim watched Quizen with a worried expression on his face, his brow furrowed with concern, but as he looked at the mediator, his gaze dropping towards his ears, his expression changed to one of amusement, the worry replaced by a small smirk.
His expression spoke volumes, the worry gone, replaced by an amused, smug look.
He could see the red tinge on the mediator’s ear and with the way his blue locks covered most of his face, but Joachim could still see the color blooming on his face— a small tinge of amusement creeped in at the mediator’s predicament.
"He’s fine, Coco." Joachim chuckled as he shook his head, "He’s completely fine."
