New World with Four Husbands
Chapter 323: Revelation
CHAPTER 323: REVELATION
"Skills?" Sinclair asked, "What is this skill you speak of, my master?"
Coco halted from continuing her tale as Sinclair chimed in, his perplexed question cutting through the air, naming Zaque who was still tidying Coco’s appearance, paused, his attention turning to Sinclair.
Quizen and Zaque exchanged a fleeting glance, their muscles tensing instinctively.
Quizen’s jaw clenched ever so slightly, his eyes scanning the male before them with narrowed eyes, eyeing the hybrid with a scrutinizing gaze.
Meanwhile, Zaque’s hands gradually gliding down to Coco’s cheeks, his fingers gently securing her face in a soft grip, the action appeared almost subconscious, as if a protective reflex had taken over.
Zaque’s expression remained guarded, his eyes locking momentarily with Quizen’s, a silent understanding passing between them— that if anything happens, they will both jump at Sinclair to silence him, in the name of protecting their wife’s reputation.
Sinclair, perceptive of the rising tension, quickly intervened by raising a hand and waving it dismissively.
"If this is about my master having a kind soul." He started, his words tinged with genuine understanding, "Then, I don’t mind not being let in on the secret."
Zaque and Quizen’s gazes flicked towards him, their faces filled with doubt.
The mention of a ’kind soul’ seemed to hint at something significant, and both mediators were torn between their desire to keep it secretive and the possibility of jumping on the man for arriving at such a conclusion if ever.
Coco, unable to see past Zaque who was standing in front of her, leaned her head to the side, trying to catch a glimpse of Sinclair.
She replied to the hybrid. "Yes, it’s about that."
Zaque and Quizen’s gazes quickly darted towards Coco, their eyes widening in disbelief.
They exchanged a quick glance, their astonishment evident on their faces because the implication of Coco’s words hung heavy in the air, and both men were struggling to grapple with the weight of the revelation.
Zaque’s grip on Coco’s cheeks subconsciously tightened, his protective instinct kicking into full gear.
They had assumed that they were the only ones privy to her secret and no one else so her casual disclosure took them both aback.
Coco raised her hand and gently squeezed Zaque’s, her touch offering reassurance.
"I’ll tell you about it." She replied, her voice steady. "But would you be comfortable letting my husbands— even Heiren and Alhai— know about yours?"
Her request was immediately met with surprise and consideration.
Zaque and Quizen exchanged another glance, the weight of her words sinking in because the mention of her other husbands, Heiren and Alhai, was unexpected.
She still managed to think of them even in this situation and somehow, that fact made their hearts skip a beat.
Sinclair was quiet for a moment, his surprise evident, before he chuckled softly, letting Coco know that he was more than fine with her request.
"Of course, master." He affirmed, his tone filled with reassurance. "Your mates are your mates for life, are they not? They deserve to know what you want them to know, wherever and whenever."
His words were screaming loyalty and understanding upon acknowledging the bond Coco shared with the four mediators and the trust between the five of them.
Coco paused, which was immediately noticed by the three men around her, and looked like she wanted to say something, but she was quick to smile, her eyes gleaming with excitement.
"Then, why don’t you tell them yourself?" She suggested. "That would be better than me telling them, right?"
Her enthusiasm was clear as she proposed the idea, her belief evident in the words spoken, but Sinclair could feel that she was holding back something.
Sinclair ignored what his master was feeling and nodded his head, his smile widening.
"I agree.." He hummed out, mulling over the idea.
"However." He quickly added, his voice thoughtful, "Wouldn’t it be much better to just show them?"
Then, he paused, his gaze darting between the group, a gleam of curiosity in his eyes, waiting for his master to give him permission what he had in mind.
Coco took hold of Zaque’s hand and gently moved him to the side, angling her head in Sinclair’s direction.
"Show them?" She echoed curiously. "What do you mean?"
Zaque stood by her side, his gaze fixed on Sinclair, his grip on Coco’s hand loosening as he waited to see what Coco would decide upon.
Sinclair raised a hand and gently touched his chest in a manner similar to a butler’s precise gesture.
He chuckled softly as he said, "Like this."
In a blink of an eye, a faint glow began to emanate from his body, a soft luminescence that emanated from within.
Coco, Zaque, and Quizen found themselves having to look away from Sinclair as the glow enveloped his entire body, its brightness becoming blinding— it became so intense that it became impossible for them to continue looking directly at him, forcing their gaze elsewhere.
Zaque and Quizen were left dumbfounded, their minds struggling to process this unexpected situation.
Yet, Coco, on the other hand, was unfazed, she was simply bouncing on her feet, brimming with excitement as her eyes stared on the ground, watching the hybrid from the corner of her eyesight.
"This is what I meant, master."
Coco heard a voice in her head which she recognized immediately as Sinclair, causing her lips to part in surprise, the realisation of what she was witnessing sinking in as the glow began to fade.
She turned attention back to Sinclair, the light now diminishing into nothing.
Zaque and Quizen hesitantly looked back where Sinclair once stood, their eyes widening in shock as they were met with a pair of beady red eyes.
There was a raven flying where Sinclair once stood, its midnight-black feathers gleaming iridescent under the sunlight— its body covered in the color of a clear midnight sky that reflects the clouds above.
The raven let out a soft croak as it glided through the air, its path directed towards Coco.
"Arm out, master."
