New World with Four Husbands
Chapter 325: Revelation [3]
CHAPTER 325: REVELATION [3]
Coco turned her gaze to the flying raven, her hands still cradling Zaque’s cheeks.
Coco smiled tenderly at Sinclair, her gaze soft and silently asking for the hybrid to comply with what she was going to say next.
"Can you leave us for some time?" She asked gently.
The raven tilted his head, his expression conveyed an understanding of the situation and with a soft croak, he spread his wings and took flight.
"Take your time, master."
Sinclair wished her the best of luck before he flew towards the back door of the house, his wings flapping gracefully in the air as he disappeared into the house.
A bright light briefly illuminates the interior before the door is slammed shut, leaving Zaque and Coco alone in the open area.
Coco blinked, her gaze lingering on the closed door for a moment before she turned back to Zaque who still stood there, his expression revealing his wounded emotions, his thoughts obviously consuming him.
Coco’s smile faded, replaced by a frown.
Her eyes traced his tensed form, seeing the pain etched on his face, then her gaze turned towards Quizen and immediately noticed that he too was in a similar state as Zaque.
The blue haired mediator’s face mirrored the pain and discomfort that Zaque was feeling, indicating that he was also affected by the news.
Coco’s frown deepened, her heart heavy with the knowledge that both her husbands were hurting from the news about Sinclair— though, she was confused as to why Quizen would feel that way.
She can understand Zaque feeling upset because she knows that he likes her, but Quizen?
Coco sighed, reluctantly letting go of Zaque and stepping away before she walked over to the farming rabbit that had been silently watching them this whole time.
With a weary, yet gracious movement, Coco settled herself in the baby rabbit’s lap, seeking comfort and support from the monster.
The rabbit remained still, its soft fur providing a cushion for Coco’s form as she tried to gather her thoughts.
She leaned her back against the rabbit’s fluffy chest, feeling a moment of peace in the animal’s steady presence, and exhaled deeply, the tension slowly draining from her body.
After a good minute, Coco looked up, her voice softened as she called out. "Come here, Zaque, Quizen."
The mediators both hesitated for a moment, their gazes uncertain and glanced at her way, but when they saw the exhaustion in Coco’s eyes, they slowly made their way over to her.
Coco gently pats her lap as they approach, her smile offering a quiet invitation.
"Come and lay your heads here." Coco said, her voice tender and warm, and seeing where she wants them to lay down caused their footsteps to falter for a second.
Zaque and Quizen exchanged a glance, their hesitation still lingering, but they heard Coco’s palms meeting her clothes thighs which made them comply to her wish so they cautiously stepped closer and gingerly laid their heads on her lap, their bodies relaxing ever so slightly.
Gradually, they let their bodies relax and let their weight rest against her thighs.
Coco’s fingers gently carded through their locks, her touch tender and soothing, as she sighed softly, her voice filled with reassurance.
"I know that the news about Sinclair being connected to me shocks the two of you." She murmured, her words tinged with understanding. "But I promise that the two of you know me better than him."
Their bodies grew rigid for a moment, their eyes wide with surprise, the weight of their doubts and fears still clung to them, lingering like a shadow in the corners of their minds, but the gentle brush of Coco’s fingers in their hair were distractive enough.
Coco continued to speak, her tone patient and caring. "He doesn’t know that I was brought here by Lala."
Then, Coco paused before continuing, "Actually, he’s not even aware of Lala’s existence because he can’t see her. Only the four of you know about her."
Coco stared down at them, feeling the rabbit shift behind her, but didn’t pay attention to the baby.
"He doesn’t know that I love the chocolate sandwich you guys make for me." Coco stated and chuckled, "He also doesn’t know that I love pork bellies—"
However, her sentence came to an abrupt halt as Zaque interjected, his voice tinged with guilt. "He knows because I told him."
Coco’s gaze quickly shifted to him, her face contorting into a surprise before she let out a laugh,
"I don’t even know that you know." She said, her words coming out in between fits of soft laughter as she gently nudged him playfully, a smile playing on her lips, her eyes dancing with mischief.
Coco stopped laughing when she felt Quizen nestled his face in Coco’s palm, "You like listening to music."
Coco blinked, not expecting for those words to escape Quizen’s mouth, but she grew only more shocked when he continued speaking.
"Whenever you stay at the pub to eat something, you would dance along to my singing or to my coworker’s— it may be subtle, but the way you tap your finger on the table or bounce your foot along with the beats? It was obvious that you love it." Quizen hums.
The image of Coco dancing joyfully at the pub, surrounded by music and laughter, was a pleasant memory for him.
The way she responded to music— especially his— with her body moving in sync to the rhythm, was a unique and endearing trait of hers that he had come to adore.
Coco’s eyes widened in slight surprise because he noticed all of that?
"You’re right." She admitted, "I do love music."
It was a part of her, an essential element that brought joy and expressiveness into her life when she was still back on earth.
"But I didn’t know that you know." Coco murmured, her words dripping with awe, "I never said it out loud and no one had noticed so far, you know? But you? You noticed that."
