New World with Four Husbands
Chapter 358: Punishment of an unfinished quest
CHAPTER 358: PUNISHMENT OF AN UNFINISHED QUEST
"So you came here to see me?" Coco asked, raising an eyebrow at the blonde haired man.
"Yes.." Lukas mumbled, kneeling with both of his hands curled against his lap. "I thought that it would be better to see you in person than listen to the rumors."
Coco let out a sigh, rubbing the bridge of her nose.
"You know what? Get out." She said, having enough of him and pointing towards the door using her other hand. "I have to get ready for the examination and with you being here is not helping, at all."
Lukas perked up, his face losing its color. "What? No! I just got here!"
"Unwelcomed." Coco stated bluntly and crossed her arms. "Leave or else.. I’ll have to use force just to throw you out and I know you wouldn’t want that."
Coco’s words gave Lukas a flashback of what happened back in the arena.
He remembered what Coco did to the tough crocodile, how she slammed a farming tool against its tough shell and ripped it off its body as if it was nothing, but paper.
He remembered how she went head to head against the recently discovered monster who had grown abnormally big compared to its supposed size and defeated it with the same farming tool that killed the previous monster.
Lukas shuddered at the memory and sprung up on his feet. "Fine, fine, fine! You don’t have to resort to violence.."
The words were uttered under his breath, his lips curling down into a frown as he walked towards the door which Coco held open for him.
The blonde haired man cast one last glance at Coco before he exited the room.
Coco was quick to close the door behind him, her eyes narrowing into a glare as she turned the lock, making it click into place and ensuring her safety inside the room.
"That man has some guts." The garden fairy commented, settling herself on top of the back of the couch.
"Tell me about it—" Coco agreed, but stopped in the middle of the sentence when a scroll suddenly appeared before her, then the familiar sound of the scroll appearing echoed in the back of her head.
"Ooh! A quest?" Lala brightened up and flew towards Coco. "Is it about the examination?"
However, Coco couldn’t answer the garden fairy’s question because she was too focused on reading the content of the scroll.
[ You have failed to finish the Main Quest {10} and in result, you will be receiving the listed punishment.. ]
That was what Coco first read on the parchment before her eyes scanned the rest of the words, her eyes narrowing and her face contorting into a frown.
[ Main Quest {10}: Let the fairy go
The commander of the garden fairies, Lala, had requested to atone for her mistakes in Fairy Dale instead of staying in Ersthan with Coco Hughes (Coison) and swore that she would support the transmigrated person without further question.
As the fairy in charge of Coco Hughes’ growth quests, Lulu has no choice, but to comply with the commander’s wishes to withdraw from the fifth dimension.
Reward: Maximum levels of the active skills
Time Duration: 36 hours and 59 minutes
Penalty: Activation of Heiren’s Quest {2}, Alhai’s Quest {2}, Quizen’s Quest {2}, with four additional side quests ]
Coco reviewed the quest she refused to do yesterday, her hands curling into fists when she saw the duration of it.
Lala told her that if she accepted the quest, then she would leave for Fairy Dale next week, but the duration gave her only two days at most.
Not only that, the penalty of this quest seems to be over the top because of the seven quests that she will have to finish in who knows how long it would take— not to mention, the quests of the husbands..
I haven’t finished Zaque’s quest yet, I don’t think I can take on seven quests. Coco thought, biting the inside of her mouth.
However, as much as she wanted to refuse, she had already failed to do the quest.
"Okay, fine." She grumbled out, raising a hand to grab the scroll and squeeze it in her tight grasp. "But you should have known that I won’t let Lala go, Lulu— or whoever orchestrated this damn quest."
The scroll in Coco’s grasp shook before it vanished from her sight with a trail of golden dust on its wake.
Then, another appeared on her right, rolled and aimed at her head, ready to smack her, but her reflexes were faster because she deemed it as a threat at the moment.
Coco’s hand shot up, the fork still in her grip, and attacked the rolled scroll with scary precision.
Unfortunately, for Coco, but fortunately for the scroll, the brown parchment managed to float to the side just in time for the fork to make contact with it.
"Coco!" Lala shrieked, not expecting for her human friend to attack the magic scroll with her weaponized fork.
"Keep your mouth shut, Lala." Coco hissed and continued to aim her fork at the scroll, jabbing the fork’s four pointy edges towards the floating paper.
The garden fairy was taken aback by Coco’s order and couldn’t help, but keep her mouth shut.
Just as she was about to grab the scroll with her other hand so she could stab it easier with her fork, the scroll suddenly disappeared from her sight.
"Again?" Coco frowned, her assault momentarily halted as she stood still.
Pop!
Hearing a nose coming from behind, Coco whipped her body around, causing Konoha to hiss in discontentment and jump off her shoulders, and aimed her fork to the direction where she heard the sound came from.
"Stop! Stop!" Lala squealed, her voice dripping with panic.
Only for her to freeze in the middle of her attack when she came face to face with seven scrolls and a distressed garden fairy.
Coco’s eyes went wide at the sight of the seven floating scrolls before her.
"What the fuck?"
