CHAPTER 456: TELEVISION STORE [2]

"Kairo!" Coco exclaimed, her face brightening up. "You work here?"

"Yes, I am." Kairo responded curtly, his gaze scanning the store for a quick moment and settled back on Coco. "I’ve been standing here ever since you walked in.. Didn’t you notice me?"

Kairo was behind the mahogany desk, his arms crossed and his eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"I didn’t.." Coco answered truthfully and brushed her hand on the back of her neck, rubbing sheepishly with an embarrassed expression on her face. "I’m sorry.. We didn’t mean to cause a commotion."

Kairo stared at them blankly, sweeping his attention between the three of them.

He sighed. "Whatever.. Please choose what you want to buy.. Or would you like me to assist you? We got a couple of telebox around the store that you might like."

"No need—" Heiren tried to decline, but Coco stopped him.

"Of course! That would be great." Coco agreed, flashing Kairo a grateful smile.

Kairo stared at her lips, his violet irises dilating at the sight of such a beautiful and dazzling smile from the person whom he respected and adored.

However, he was quick to catch himself and regain his composure.

"It would be a pleasure, ma’am." He said after clearing his throat, the corner of his lips curling up into an astonishingly handsome smile.

"You’ve got a beautiful smile." Coco blurted out, blinking in surprise. "You should smile more."

Heiren and Alhai became alarmed at her words, their eyes widening in disbelief as they shared glances that expressed their displeasure.

Kairo simply felt his ears getting warm before he cleared his throat again. "Tha.. Thanks."

"Regarding your offer, I think we’ll just grab this and go! How much does this television cost?" Coco quickly changed the topic and pointed at the brown television that has vines design.

Kairo grew quiet after being turned down, but again, he just smiled and nodded his head.

"That television costs approximately ten gold coins along with its special magical stones." Kairo said, walking past the three of them to turn the television around to show them the magical stones behind it.

"These stones should be recharged every night from now on if you’re planning to use this maginology on a daily basis—" Kairo started as he tapped the stones, but Coco raised her hand which caused him to pause. "Yes? What is it?’

"What is maginology exactly?" Coco questioned, tilting her head.

"Maginology is a shorter term for magical technology, my wife." Alhai answered before Kairo could do so, making the purple eyed mediator glare at him.

"Yes." Kairo gritted out with a forced smile. "What your husband said is correct, ma’am."

"Oooooh.. That’s a funny term." Coco commented, giggling.

"Anyway, this certain maginology can use up to two to three people’s mana in just a day so make sure to recharge it every night." Kairo finished his explanation, the smile on his face vanishing.

"Please keep in mind that if you were to leave the stones empty for too long, you will have to replace them." Kairo said, huffing.

"Why?" Coco asked again.

"Because the magic stones will start malfunctioning, ma’am." Kairo answered in a matter-of-fact tone. "The magic stones being left empty for too long is another way to destroy it because the magical particles that act as conductors for the mana inside it will turn into dust."

"That.. Doesn’t make sense." Coco mumbled, her eyebrows furrowing.

"The existence of mana and magic stones themselves doesn’t make sense." Alhai started with a roll of his eyes. "I tried studying it, but with limited materials, even I can’t make sense of their existence."

"Really?" Coco raised an eyebrow. "Huh.. I remember someone told me about magic stones and it kind of made sense."

"Who?" Heiren, Kairo, and Alhai asked at the same time.

"I don’t remember who." Coco responded with a smile, causing the three of them to deflate.

"Anyway, what I’m saying is.. The magic stones are the same as delicate flowers." Kairo continued with a sigh. "So please take care of them like how you would do to beautiful and fragrant flowers."

"Okay.." Coco murmured, trailing off slowly. "I just have to refill the mana every night and that way, it won’t malfunction, right?"

"Correct." Kairo said, smiling proudly.

"You’re such a quick learner, Coco." He complimented, humming in satisfaction. "Moving on, are you going to buy this? Do I have to pack it now?"

Coco nodded her head. "Yes, please!"

"Well then, please excuse me. I’ll be back with your chosen telebox." Kairo said and made his way back to the desk before he went inside the door that was behind it."

Coco watched Kairo disappear behind the door, then once the mediator was out of sight, she turned to the husbands.

"Are you two sure that we can settle for this television instead of looking for another one? And aren’t you supposed to be back to continue your shift, Alhai?" Coco inquired, her concern about things going all over the place.

"I have an hour break, wife." Alhai assured her with a small smile. "It hasn’t been an hour since we got here so relax, okay?"

"Okay.." Coco mumbled, her face contorting into a frown. "Speaking of which.. Did you know that Kairo is working here? Is that why you know where to go to buy a magical television?"

"Yes." Alhai answered simply. "We walk home every night so we discuss things if we’re in the mood for it."

"That makes sense." Coco hummed softly.

"How about you?" Alhai returned the question with a cock of his head. "Why do you keep calling the telebox "magical television" when you can just call it a telebox?"

"Because calling it magical television gives me comfort." Coco whispered, her eyes dropping to the floor.

Heiren reached out and pinched Alhai on the arm, causing the latter to flinch and hiss in pain, but didn’t say anything to argue with his friend.

"I’m sorry, Coco." Alhai apologized, rubbing the sore spot on his arm.
