New World with Four Husbands
Chapter 484: Unexpected violence
CHAPTER 484: UNEXPECTED VIOLENCE
Alhai couldn’t help, but grumble under his breath, his expression darkening with frustration as he recognized the source of the interruption.
He merely watched as Quizen stomped over, but as soon as the fourth husband got close, Alhai spoke up.
"Goddammit." He cursed, his voice tinged with irritation. "What is it now, Quizen?"
Quizen’s glare pierced through Alhai, his expression filled with anger and disbelief as he clenched his fists and confronted Alhai, his voice sharp and accusatory.
"Why the hell are you kissing her again?! You shameless man!" The blue haired mediator exclaimed, his words dripping with frustration. "Did she even give you permission for that?! You can’t just go around planting your lips on her without her consent!"
Alhai couldn’t help, but roll his eyes in irritation and to make the situation worse for him, he leaned down and kissed Coco once more.
His lips met hers in a gesture of defiance and disregard for Quizen’s protests, an auction driven by a combination to spite his accusatory claim and his desire to feel Coco’s lips on his once more.
He deepened the kiss, his hands remaining tangled in Coco’s hair, refusing to let go despite the ongoing confrontation.
It was a possessive and deliberate display, meant to anger Quizen even further and it worked wonders.
Quizen’s eyes widened in anger, and with an enraged cry escaping his lips— he seized Alhai by the hair and yanked him away from Coco quite roughly, not minding the strength he put on his pull.
The force of the action caused Alhai’s head to jerk back, a pained grimace passing over his face accompanied with a groan.
"Quizen, you stupid mediator!" Alhai cursed, his hands instinctively rising to grab Quizen’s grip to lessen the blue haired mediator’s grip on his hair. "Let go of my hair, you bastard! It took me so long to make myself beautiful for Coco!"
Alhai’s words didn’t reach Coco’s ears because she was too shocked at what was happening.
However, she gasped in alarm as she witnessed the escalating confrontation when Quizen kept pulling Alhai’s hair so in hurry, she called out to Quizen, her voice rising with concern.
"Quizen!" She cried out, her voice tinged with panic. "Please, don’t hurt him!"
The sight of Alhai struggling against Quizen’s hold filled her with a heavy sense of worry, making her instinctively take a step forward, her hand reaching out in a pleading gesture.
"Please, stop this! There’s no need for violence!" She pleaded, her hands finding the right places to hold in an attempt to stop them without hurting them.
She’s physically stronger than them so she knows that she may end up hurting them even if she didn’t wish to do so.
Quizen saw the panic and worry in Coco’s eyes which caused him to feel bad, resulting in him letting go of the silver haired mediator with a huff.
"You’re lucky she’s here to stop me from pulling that hair—" Quizen started, but his words were cut short as Coco abruptly grasped him by the collar and pulled him down, surprising him with her unexpected actions.
Without a second thought, she crushed her lips against his in a fervent kiss, interrupting whatever he was about to say.
The unexpected kiss left him dazed and caught off guard, his stunned expression mirroring the way his whole body became frozen as she pressed her lips on his.
He could feel the warmth of her lips against his, the intensity of her action leaving him speechless.
After a good second, Coco pulled away.
She was glaring at Quizen, displeased with what he had done in the heat of the moment.
"If you wanted a kiss." She snapped, her words edged with disappointment and anger. "You could have just asked me for one! There was no need for you to hurt Alhai because I would have gladly given you a kiss without any violence involved!"
Quizen could only stare at her in stunned silence, his eyes widened and his lips parted as he slowly processed what had just happened.
Once he finally snapped out of his daze, a flush spread across his face and he hurriedly covered it with his hands, embarrassed and flustered before he turned on his heel and dashed away, his footsteps thudding against the ground as he retreated in a flurry of red-faced panic.
Coco let out a frustrated grumble. "What the hell is his problem?"
She stood there, hands on her hips as she watched him run off because she couldn’t quite comprehend his reaction to the situation.
However, she stopped when she heard muffled laughter behind her.
She turned and found Alhai clutching his stomach while covering his mouth, but still, she felt worried. "Are you okay, Alhai? Did he pull your hair that hard?"
"I’m so sorry." She said, her tone tinged with guilt. "I should have intervened sooner.. I should have stopped him from grabbing you the moment I saw it happening."
Alhai shook his head, his laughter gradually subsiding as he reassured her with the best of his ability.
"It’s fine." He hummed, a look of amusement still lingering in his eyes. "The pain was totally worth it. After all, I got to kiss you, so I honestly think I came out on top here."
He shot her a playful and triumphant smirk, relishing the memory of their kiss even though he was wincing a few seconds ago.
Coco felt her embarrassment return so she cleared her throat and tried to change the subject as smoothly as possible. "I’m glad that you’re not hurt.. Anyway, I’m going to call Kairo over. Don’t act weird, okay?"
Alhai couldn’t help but shake his head at the absurdity of her words. "Weird? After he witnessed us kiss like there was no tomorrow? Yeah, sure, okay. Anything to make my wife happy."
Then, he raised an eyebrow, a playful glimmer in his eyes as he added. "But just so you know, wife, you’re sending mixed signals here."
