CHAPTER 164: CHAPTER 162 STILL NOT SURE [1 MORE UPDATE]
As they say, ginger gets hotter with age, and with a simple gesture, Aunt Smith had Maya Spencer’s heart stirred.
Liam Spencer stayed by the girl’s side, watching her gradually getting better, with an indescribable feeling in his heart.
In his mind, he even fantasized, imagining Maya teasing the baby with a cheerful face after the baby was born.
For a moment, he found this scene incredibly beautiful.
"What do you think of this cape, and this sleeping bag? I think these cloth diapers might be better than the disposable ones, and these small towels are so cute." Maya looked at the dazzling array of baby products in front of her, feeling more and more excited, grabbing these things and asking for Liam’s opinion.
Moreover, there was an expectant expression on her face, as if looking forward to the baby’s arrival.
"Hmm! They’re all great!" Liam always nodded with a smile, approving of her taste.
The sales assistant, seeing Maya’s mood gradually improving, recommended a lot more things to her.
Maya listened, feeling this and that were good, and bought them all, only stopping when she felt there was nothing else to buy, and then went home with Liam.
However, as soon as she got into the car, her heart skipped a beat, and she only then realized she was overly excited, actually somewhat looking forward to the baby’s arrival.
She swallowed a lump, turned her head to the side, looked out the window, silently reminding herself not to be so excited about it. This child has nothing to do with her; she’s just Liam’s birth tool.
When they returned home, the department store had already delivered all the things Maya bought, filling up half of the living room. Aunt Smith was directing everyone to put the things in the guest room with a balcony and bay window.
Afterward, she called for help and conducted a thorough cleaning of the apartment.
Not until Liam and Maya finished their dinner did she say goodbye to the pair, "Young Master Liam, Miss Maya, the room has already been tidied up. I’ll return to the villa first and come over again in the morning. I suggest Miss Maya stay at the villa where it’s lively and more spacious, which is good for mood-lifting."
"I like peace and quiet!" Maya knew Aunt Smith was referring to Liam’s villa. She didn’t plan to move there, so she quickly said she liked peace and quiet.
"We’ll see about that later!" Liam glanced at the girl, speaking dismissively.
In fact, Liam knew the two of them weren’t on good terms, which was why they stayed at the apartment.
If they moved back to the villa, they would be fighting every three days, making the atmosphere in the house tense, which he didn’t like.
Besides, he preferred a world with just the two of them.
Aunt Smith saw that neither of them planned to move there and left sullenly.
Thinking to herself, could this Miss Maya possibly ascend to the position of the third young mistress? It’s still quite uncertain!
Originally, she intended to matchmake them, but it seems it was beyond her power.
After Aunt Smith left, Maya again hid in the second bedroom, took a shower, changed her clothes, and sat cross-legged on the bed watching TV.
But what made her uneasy was that Aunt Smith had put a pile of baby products in her room, and whenever she saw those things, she would feel inexplicably panicked, yet she didn’t want to move them out and didn’t want to have a face-to-face encounter with Liam.
However, things that can’t be avoided can never be avoided. Before long, her door was knocked upon.
She responded feebly, "Come in!"
Outside the door, Liam heard the girl’s voice, gently pushed the door open, hands resting on his hips, and said matter-of-factly, "It’s not good to place the baby bed in that room alone. The baby can’t sleep alone."
"Put it in the master bedroom then! Let him sleep with you." Maya responded indifferently.
At the door, the man looked at her disinterested attitude, suppressing a belly full of anger.
These past two days, he accommodated her because she was pregnant, conceding everything to her, yet this woman was unappreciative, giving her face, but she wouldn’t take it.
Liam felt his patience had reached its limit; he was tired of looking at her sulking face.
So he quickly walked to the big bed, reached out his right hand, and grabbed her chin, saying, "Maya Spencer, I’ve given you enough face these two days. Who is this attitude for?"
Listening to the man’s questioning, Maya looked at him nonchalantly.
She thought, did she ask him to give her face? Just because he gave it, does she have to take it?
Now she was simply treating him the same way, what, couldn’t he bear it after just two days?
Why didn’t he consider how he used to ignore her, leaving for several days and letting her handle so many things alone?
But she wasn’t foolish enough to argue with him, so she lazily said, "I can’t be happy!"
The man listened to her frankness, feeling agitated and his heart hurting. Suddenly, he lowered himself onto her, pinning her beneath him, clutching her chin, gazing into her eyes, and said, "I’ve said, whatever compensation you want, I can give you."
Maya said, "I haven’t decided yet!"
Liam looked at her innocent eyes, her aggrieved appearance, and couldn’t bring himself to be harsh.
She stayed still, but as soon as he moved, Liam immediately straightened her little face, gently caressing with his right hand,
Both of them clearly sulking, clearly harboring their thoughts,
Her little heart suddenly trembled, she quickly grabbed his shoulder, shoving him away from herself, reminding him.
"You can’t"
Hearing the girl’s reminder, Liam propped himself up with both hands on either side of her shoulders, supporting his body, his gaze meeting hers,
So she reminded again, "What if..."
"There won’t be any ’what if’!" Before she finished speaking, he seized the chance to speak, then sealed her lips, drowning in a wave of his tenderness.
