CHAPTER 255: CHAPTER 253: ONE HAND COVERS THE SKY [3 UPDATES]
Watching their backs, Maya Spencer felt full of sarcasm, thinking, it’s only been a few days since their engagement, only a few days since he mourned for Grace’s death? And yet he’s already shopping with a new girlfriend at the mall.
It seems this girl is quite favored! Liam Spencer had the mood to accompany her to the mall early in the morning, her status must be pretty high! So Grace was nothing special after all, yet he pretended to be deeply in love, what a pervert. Thinking Grace dumped him, he used me as a proxy for Grace’s anger, finding out others left because they loved him, and immediately falling into another woman’s embrace.
Maya Spencer felt very sad for Grace, she loved him so much but ended up seeing the wrong person. She wondered how Grace would feel seeing this scene from heaven.
Watching Liam Spencer’s silhouette gradually fading, Maya immediately chased after him; since they ran into each other, she naturally had to question him clearly.
So, she blocked his way, frowning tightly, stared straight into his eyes, and asked, "What do you mean?"
Liam Spencer, hearing the girl’s question, took a deep breath, raised his right hand to push her aside, signaling her not to block his way.
Maya Spencer, watching him ignoring her, became even more frustrated. She thought, he had just sought her out a few days ago, trying to make her cancel her engagement with Kinsley Spencer; today, he was treating her like she was invisible, huh, switching sides quite quickly.
Thinking about being voted out of her position by the shareholders, Maya couldn’t stand just letting him leave, she was not convinced by his overpowering control.
So, she chased after him again, grabbed his wrist, and asked, "Who gave you the right to shut me out?"
Liam Spencer felt the girl’s small hand clutching his wrist, his heart trembled slightly. He couldn’t help it, he was just that sensitive to Maya’s touch.
However, unwilling to reconcile with her, he lifted his arm and shook Maya’s hand off, as if he didn’t know her at all.
In a quarrel, the most annoying thing is when others treat you as if you’re transparent, so Maya’s anger deepened. She wanted badly to throw him over her shoulder.
She didn’t expect, seeking reasoning with him, she’d be ignored. Her heart became unbalanced; she thought Liam should give her an explanation.
Nearby, the girl holding onto Liam’s left arm was unhappy, she turned slightly, stared at Maya, and said, "Miss Hanson, your engagement with the Third Young Master has been canceled, please stop pestering him, okay?"
Initially, Maya had no opinion on this girl; anyway, she knew it wouldn’t last more than a couple of days. But once she started speaking, Maya found her extremely annoying, making her feel uncomfortable.
Therefore, she said coolly, "Even if the engagement’s canceled, you won’t marry into the Spencer Family." Saying this, Maya didn’t know where her confidence came from.
Liam, listening to her retort, felt an odd satisfaction, his mood was exceptionally good.
But he still wore a cold, indifferent look and said, "Maya, since when did you start deciding matters for the Spencer Family?"
Maya, after being rebuffed, felt a bit awkward but didn’t want to concede, so she laughed casually and said, "Liam, I’m kindly advising you, this woman is clearly after your money, why live so miserably? Surrounded by demons with no genuine people around you?"
Of course, she didn’t deny she had ulterior motives approaching Liam too.
Liam, hearing her call him ’brother-in-law,’ became extremely depressed, indeed, her wedding with Kinsley was in 6 days, if he didn’t take action, in 6 days, he’d really have to call her that.
Seeing this woman flashing in front of him as his sister-in-law, Liam felt uneasy and more inclined to argue with her.
So, with a cold smile, he said, "My matters really don’t need your concern, sister-in-law. What if I just marry this woman? What can you do?"
The two of them were bickering, making Liam’s "girlfriend" very amused, holding onto Liam’s arm tightly, as if he was already her husband.
Maya, listening to the man’s comeback, wanted to slap him twice, but she didn’t want to get angry over who he married, so she calmed her anger, stared directly into his eyes, and warned, "Liam, don’t think you’ll be complacent forever, I’ll watch you fall, watch you be trampled."
Now, she couldn’t even stay in Hanson Clan Group; she could only silently curse him to get his comeuppance soon.
The man, seeing her fierce eyes, quickly extended his right hand, pinched her chin with a bewitching smile, and said, "Alright! Take your time waiting, even until your death, you won’t see it."
After saying that, Liam released her chin, took the girl beside him, brushed past Maya, and left nonchalantly, leaving Maya alone in depression.
Maya, listening to the gradually fading footsteps, thought about his disregard for her, she wanted to slap herself twice, blaming herself for being idle enough to seek justice with him.
He was despicable to begin with; she should have acted as if she hadn’t seen him, right? Why chase after him and bring trouble upon herself?
Recalling her earlier awkwardness, she lightly pressed her lips, raised her right hand, and gave herself a slap on the mouth as a warning.
Nevertheless, after running into Liam, her mood was at rock bottom. Thinking about that scumbag shopping with his girlfriend in the same mall as her, she lost interest in shopping too and took the elevator to the underground parking, drove back to the villa.
In the underground parking, someone sat in a car, watched the angry girl drive away, and took a deep breath, not even glancing at the girl in the passenger seat, saying, "Get out."
At once, the girl felt awkward, furrowed her brow, pouted her lips, her eyes welled up with tears, pitifully looked at Liam, and said, "Third Young Master, won’t you accompany Freya shopping?"
"Get out." However, she was only met with those two words again.
At this point, the girl’s tears fell ’pat, pat’ unceremoniously, making her look pitiful, but Liam felt utterly annoyed, utterly vexed.
Afterward, he drew two tissues from the box, handed them to the girl with a face full of disdain.
"Thank you, Third Young Master," the girl sniffed and thanked him.
Then, trembling, she pleaded, "Third Young Master, please don’t drive Freya away, if Freya did anything wrong, tell her, she’ll change."
The girl’s devout attitude, she clearly knew Liam cared about Maya. He had Elijah Reed inform her to come, just to put on a show.
Though she understood all these in her heart, she was unwilling to miss this hard-earned meeting opportunity, so she clung to Liam, trying to stay by his side a bit longer.
Liam, looking at the sniffling girl, wanted to throw her out of the car, but to outsiders, he wouldn’t be so genuine, just coldly asked, "Did Elijah not clarify before you came?"
Hearing Liam’s inquiry, the girl sniffed twice, trying to control her tears, which were actually acted out intentionally to gain sympathy.
After her emotions calmed slightly, she suddenly flipped over, raised her right leg, and sat unceremoniously on Liam’s lap.
