"Liam, save me!"

"Ella, save me!" Maya shouted for help as she was carried out of the dressing room.

At that moment, Elijah suddenly appeared behind her, taped her mouth, and said, "Miss Maya, forgive me."

"Mmm mmm..." Maya protested through the tape, as if accusing Elijah of helping the wrong side, unable to distinguish right from wrong.

Elijah watched Maya being carried away, cold sweat dripping from his forehead. He didn’t want to do this either! But since the BOSS had real feelings for Miss Maya, he couldn’t ignore the BOSS.

With her mouth taped shut, Maya was quickly brought to a suite in the hotel. It was only then that Liam peeled the tape off her mouth and kissed her lips.

He didn’t get angry, instead he casually picked up the remote from the coffee table and turned on the TV.

When the TV was turned on, Maya saw her wedding being broadcast live. She took a deep breath, biting her lower lip, and asked Liam, "What exactly do you want?"

Clearly, from Liam’s arrangement today, he had planned this long ago, to set her up with Kinsley. If she didn’t appear at the wedding, she’d be the one getting criticized.

Listening to her questioning, Liam slowly walked closer, quickly reached out with his arm, and pulled her into his embrace, his head close to her lips, saying, "What I want to do, do you really not know?"

"Ha ha! Do you think with this, I would willingly become Grace’s substitute, stay by your side? Liam, let me tell you honestly, even if I’m sleeping beside you, I feel disgusted and hate you, I’ll never love you like Grace does." Maya countered with a cold laugh.

Her heart belonged to someone three years ago, though she knew she could never have her own love in this life, so she buried those feelings deep inside, letting no one detect them. Her acting had always been good enough to conceal any cracks.

Listening to her retort, Liam didn’t get angry with her and coldly said, "Maya, you live for me and die for me; don’t think about what’s useless."

"Shameless!" Maya cursed Liam while her eyes stayed fixed on the TV.

This wedding, meant for her, she was now absent from. Thinking about what she was about to face, her uncle’s stern expression, Maya’s little heart suddenly raced. She was scared, fearing she couldn’t bear the consequences.

So she lifted her head, grabbed Liam by the collar, and pleaded, "Open the door, we can discuss everything after the ceremony."

Liam watched her compromise, felt uncomfortable in his heart. He hated her pressing herself to please others for his sake, and coldly said, "Don’t even think about it."

"Aren’t you afraid of karma?" Maya angrily questioned.

The man looked at her fiery eyes, lifted her into his arms, and gently tossed her onto the couch, pressing down on her.

He didn’t tell Maya that the fact she hated him so much was his karma.

He took a deep breath, looked down at Maya, saw her makeup smeared from crying, lifted his right hand to caress her little face, saying, "Don’t make a fuss, don’t miss Liam’s wedding." With that, he sat up from the couch.

Today, although Liam felt much discontent, Maya’s words and actions upset him, but he tried to control his emotions, to prevent her from hating him more.

Maya listened to his mocking words, followed his gaze, and slowly looked at the TV.

She saw the banquet hall filled with guests, chatting and laughing, so lively. Maya couldn’t imagine the faces everyone would have when the ceremony started.

In just one month, she experienced an engagement then a wedding, but neither was complete.

Afterward, she turned to Liam with a frosty expression and said, "Liam, how can someone be as shameless as you? Have you thought about the consequences? Considered the predicament for Kinsley and me?"

Liam listened to her questioning, turned around, and gently ’shh’ with his right index finger over her lips, signaling her not to speak.

In the banquet hall, time passed minute by minute, Kinsley stood backstage, shaking with nerves. Surprisingly, the host kept saying everything was OK till then.

He didn’t expect that Liam hadn’t come to disrupt things. As he thought about marrying Maya, with the Hanson Family about to become his best partners, his heart pounded wildly, feeling something was off but it’s the best closure.

At 6:30, the host announced the wedding officially began. After a speech, in the flower pavilion not far from the stage, the bride stood quietly with a white wedding dress and veil, waiting for the groom’s arrival.

Kinsley looked at the girl in the pavilion, swallowed involuntarily, but his mind imagined Liam suddenly bursting onto the scene.

But, everything was fine, Liam didn’t show up, and the bride waited for him in the pavilion.

As he stepped closer to the pavilion, when he lifted the bride’s veil, he froze instantly.

He couldn’t understand why the bride wasn’t Maya but his ex-girlfriend Zoe Smith. Kinsley’s brows tightly knitted as he stared fixedly into Zoe’s eyes.

Zoe kept a beautiful smile, telling him while lightly twitching her lips, "Did you think Liam would truly let you marry his fiancée? For yourself, for Maya, act this scene out."
