CHAPTER 376: CHAPTER 374: NOT DOING ONE’S PROPER JOB [4 UPDATES]

Actually, she’s afraid she’ll have to stay overnight in his office tonight.

"Who just said that?" Liam asked, patting her.

"Not me! Not me!" someone said, eyes wide open telling lies.

"Third Brother, your phone is ringing." At the critical moment, Liam’s phone rang, and Maya quickly reminded him.

However, he merely glanced at the phone on the desk and had no intention of answering.

"Answer the phone! Don’t let it affect making money. If you go broke, I won’t want you anymore." Maya leaned on Liam’s shoulder, stretched her arm downwards, and patted him as a reminder.

Listening to her somewhat reasonable yet unrealistic excuse, Liam let her down, walked to the desk, picked up the phone, and answered it.

"Liam, come over for dinner tonight, and bring that Little Demon with you." The call was from Charlotte Owen.

After complaining to Aron Hanson, she pondered this at home for quite a while before deciding to call Liam and ask him to bring Maya along.

Charlotte Owen felt defeated today and couldn’t get rid of her frustration!

So she asked Liam to bring that little vixen Maya over so she could meet her personally, otherwise, she wouldn’t feel comfortable, even though she wasn’t her match.

In the office, listening to Charlotte’s instructions, Liam frowned and awkwardly said, "Aunt, don’t think about going up against Maya; you’re not her match."

"Ha ha! Liam, even an ugly daughter-in-law needs to meet the parents. Don’t you want to bring her back, or is it just a fling?" Charlotte knew of Liam’s feelings for Maya and intentionally provoked him.

Liam didn’t need to guess her small intentions, and just nodded, saying, "Okay!"

After hanging up the phone, Maya half-closed her eyes, approached him step by step, and stopped in front of him, pushing Liam back against the desk.

She spread her legs, gently tugging at his collar, and said angrily, "It’s really your aunt that’s cursing me."

"Pfft!" Liam looked at the girl’s overbearing demeanor and couldn’t help but laugh.

"Ouch..." Maya cried out in pain, lifted her right hand, and slapped his chest, questioning him, "Is Charlotte telling you to dump me again?"

Maya’s shy demeanor made Liam’s mouth grin so wide. He leaned forward and bit her small lips, saying, "Aunt said an ugly daughter-in-law needs to meet the parents too, and asked you to go to her place for dinner tonight."

"A trap dinner!"

"What’s the matter? Afraid to go?"

"Ha ha! Do I look like that kind of person? I’m afraid that once I go, she’ll lose her appetite."

"Little demon," Liam said with a teasing tone, as he picked her up, twirled around, and teased her.

"Stop!" Once Maya thought of the name Charlotte Owen, her mood disappeared, and she was too lazy to bother with Liam.

"Where’s your eighteen bedroom techniques?" Liam saw her reject him, leaned down, lightly bit her ear, and pursued.

"Not playing around with you anymore. Your aunt surely has some big tricks prepared for me today, I need to pull some tricks to prepare for the battle." Maya finished speaking, pushed Liam away, slid down from his desk, and escaped to the sofa.

Seeing her wanting to escape, Liam immediately extended his long arm, encircled her waist, pulled her back, with his chin resting on her shoulder, biting her ear saying, "Since you’re the one who started this fire, you should extinguish it yourself, even when sitting."

The implication in Liam’s words was crystal clear to Maya; he simply wanted to get intimate in the office, on that office chair.

However, the more Liam wanted it, the more she refused, deliberately making him uncomfortable. Since Charlotte Owen was setting a trap dinner for her, making her upset, only Liam, her nephew, could cheer her up.

So, she turned her head, lifted Liam’s chin, and mischievously said, "Keep it in if there’s a fire."

Seeing her playing tricks, Liam continued teasing with the hand around her waist. Anyway, she wouldn’t last three minutes before surrendering.

"Knock knock knock!" Just then, the office door knocked again.

Liam was extremely annoyed, wishing to hit someone, while Maya chuckled secretly.

Watching the giggling girl, Liam simply pretended not to be in the office, ignoring the person knocking, continuing to tease someone.

Seeing him play rogue, and listening to the urgent knocking outside the door, Maya immediately grabbed his hand, pouted sincerely, and said, "Open the door first."

"Extinguish the fire first."

"We’ll extinguish it when we get back tonight."

"Knock knock knock!" The knocking resumed, and Liam looked helpless.

Maya took the opportunity to push him away, quickly sat back on the sofa, and calmly said, "Come in."

"Boss, the meeting has started, and everyone is waiting for you." The person entering was Elijah Reed.

At this moment, Maya sat on the sofa calmly reading a book, but watching Liam slowly walking to the desk, she knew she had ruined his moment.

At the desk, hearing Elijah’s report, Liam finally remembered there was an important meeting this afternoon. Being completely interrupted by Maya, since she arrived, all he did was focus on her, forgetting his work.

On the sofa, listening to Elijah’s report, Maya secretly picked up the book to cover her face, pursed her lips in a quiet laugh, thinking, so she’s this important to Liam!

"Alright, I’ll be right over." Liam replied calmly.

"Okay, I’ll go in first." Elijah retreated, hoping Liam would hurry to the meeting and not be lost in beauty...

"Neglecting work." After Elijah left, Maya mockingly laughed at someone.

Listening to someone’s sarcasm, Liam gave her a calm glance, leisurely walking towards the office door.

When his large hand paused on the door handle, he suddenly turned around to look at Maya,

"Hmph!" Listening to someone’s threat, Maya stuck her tongue out at him, made a funny face.

Liam looked at Maya’s cute appearance, removed his hand from the door handle, swiftly walked to the sofa, lifted Maya from the sofa, and kissed her lips unceremoniously.

After a round of passionate kissing, he reluctantly let Maya go and went to attend the meeting.

In the office, Maya waited until 5 PM when it was time to leave work, but Liam hadn’t returned, so she lay down on the sofa and fell asleep.

At 5:30 PM, Liam finished the meeting and hurried back to the office.

Returning to the office, he saw someone passed out on the sofa, asleep, with the book dropped on the floor.

Seeing this, Liam promptly grabbed the clothes Maya had thrown aside, covered her with it, wrapping her up, and then used his forehead to touch her little face, checking the temperature, ensuring she wasn’t cold or feverish.

Only after confirming her temperature was normal did Liam pat her shoulder, saying, "Maya, it’s time to leave work."
