Her body was trembling slightly, the doctor had been so clear and explicit, but even so, she still couldn’t have this child.

When Sophie returned to the ward, Eva Miller was dozing off by the bedside. Feeling a bit heartbroken, Sophie took the medical report, tucked it into her bag, and went over to gently pat Eva’s shoulder.

Sophie almost covered Eva’s mouth as they walked out of the ward.

"Sophie, you’re, you’re pregnant!"

"Yeah."

"Who’s the father?" Eva Miller blurted out instinctively.

Sophie’s lips twitched, surprised that Eva, usually quite smart, was a bit daft today.

"Besides Asher Land, have I slept with any other man?"

"That’s great then, Sophie! Now President Land has to take responsibility whether he likes it or not. Hah, these men, they think it’s over once they zip up their pants but now it’s time for them to face the consequences!" Eva Miller looked righteous as ever.
