Sophie Smith cast her gaze toward Asher Land, and he certainly saw the fear in her eyes. He firmly clasped her hand and resolutely nodded toward her.

Sophie knew that now was not the time to question or doubt Asher Land; now was the time to choose to believe him without hesitation.

"What do you want me to do to make you release him?" His cold gaze swept directly over Henry Johnson. Even though Henry Johnson knew he had an important bargaining chip in his hands and Asher Land wouldn’t be a match for him, when he met Asher Land’s eyes, a trace of fear suddenly flashed through his heart.

"What to do?" Henry Johnson straightened up, walked up to him, and Asher Land instinctively pulled Sophie Smith behind him.

"Ha, Henry Johnson, let me make it clear first: if you dare lay a finger on my woman, I will never forgive you."

"How could I, Henry Johnson, stoop to harming a pregnant woman? After all, I still consider myself a man with a conscience." Henry Johnson weighed the iron rod in his hand. "But since President Land, you can’t bear to let your beloved woman suffer, this suffering must be endured by you personally."

"What is your role at Hush Sky Group? Where is Oliver Johnson? I want to make it clear to him; he would never allow you to do this!" Sophie Smith did not want to hide behind Asher Land. She let go of his hand and stood her small frame straight between the two tall men, Henry Johnson and Asher Land.

"Step aside!" Asher Land said and reached to grab her hand, but she evaded him.

"There’s no place for you here. You better move aside; I don’t want to harm the innocent," Henry Johnson signaled to two bodyguards, who moved forward and dragged Sophie Smith aside. Asher Land was about to make a move when Henry Johnson spoke first.

"President Land, don’t be impulsive; a single mistake might result in two deaths." Henry Johnson laughed eerily.

As expected, Asher Land’s body froze.

"Here is the equity transfer agreement. I need you to unconditionally return the shares in your possession to my elder brother!"

Returning shares? He thought it was something much bigger. He initially wanted to sign the papers straightforwardly, but he overlooked Henry Johnson’s hatred for him.

Henry Johnson wielded the iron rod, exerting all his strength, and slammed it into his spine.

Asher Land, caught off guard, was struck to one knee on the ground.

"Asher Land!" Sophie Smith struggled desperately, wanting to move in his direction, but how could she match the two burly men in black?

"President Land, tell me, isn’t this the perfect opportunity for me to teach you a lesson?" Henry Johnson laughed arrogantly.

"Are you sure about teaching me a lesson?" He laughed disdainfully, "You know I retaliate fiercely. As long as I survive, I will repay you tenfold, a hundredfold."

Henry Johnson’s face turned cold; Asher Land’s words indeed infuriated him. He was, after all, the second young master of Hush Sky Group, and hearing Asher Land’s dismissive tone made his internal rage flare up tremendously.

"Repay me? Ha, let’s see if you can walk out alive first!"

After speaking, Henry Johnson swung the iron rod toward Asher Land again.

Asher Land, despite his good physical condition, couldn’t withstand the iron rod. The pain from the rod seemed even harder to bear than a whip; he felt as if his bones were about to shatter.
