Jimmy nodded: "Yeah, I understand, but it's still not worth it for those who died. The way this case has developed, they should bear a large part of the responsibility."

Mahong looked at Jimmy and shook his head. Jimmy was fine in every way, except that his sense of justice sometimes went overboard. But fortunately, he wasn't reckless; he knew the significance of things when it came down to it.

Jimmy and Mahong, with a third person, moved the bodies to the grassy area where the helicopter was parked. After loading them onto the helicopter, the pilot glanced at the back cabin, "We can still take one more. Which one of you two is coming back with us?"

Jimmy waved at Mahong, "You go back first. Let them come and pick me up later. I don't want to be with the bodies."

Mahong raised an eyebrow, "Are you sure?"

Jimmy nodded, "You wouldn't want to stay alone in this kind of forest. Go back."

If it weren't for Jimmy's bravery and ability to protect himself, staying in this dense forest for a long time would make anyone's head explode, especially when overthinking.

In fact, Jimmy's judgment was right. After waiting for nearly an hour, a call finally came through his headset. A strange man's voice said, "Calling Agent Yang!"

Jimmy: "This is Jimmy Yang, received."

Man: "Please wait in the clearing. We're arriving shortly."

Jimmy: "Received."

Jimmy packed his bag, slung his M4, and walked out of the forest to wait in the clearing for the helicopter. Soon, the helicopter appeared in his line of sight, slowly decelerating and descending. Just as it was about to reach the ground, Jimmy suddenly noticed someone in the nearby woods crouched and sneaking to the forest edge.

He was wearing camouflage, stopped behind a tree at the forest's edge, and was watching Jimmy and the helicopter.

Jimmy immediately dropped to the ground, pressed the throat mic button, and shouted: "Abort! Abort! Ascend! Ascend! Abort landing!"

The helicopter wasn't fast enough to react, but it stopped a couple of meters above the ground, then began to ascend slowly. "What's happening? Agent Yang! Respond!"

Jimmy stayed prone, crawled to an area with denser grass, and said, "Someone is spying on us from the forest! Don't land!"

"Received! Activating heat imaging now!"

A few seconds later, "Located him, standby, he's in front left from your position, just at the forest edge."

Jimmy knew where the person was. If he had been focused solely on the helicopter, he probably would've missed the presence of the stranger. It was his habitual scanning of the surroundings that made him notice.

Jimmy: "I can't determine his intentions! He's not one of ours!"

"Understood. Please hold on while I contact command center to check whether there are any other operatives in the area!"

Jimmy looked around, noting that he had no cover in front, just laying in the grass which was not safe. He adjusted his direction while lying down and crawled toward the forest, aiming to hide behind a tree first.

The man kept his eyes on the helicopter hovering above, then glanced at Jimmy's original spot but saw no one there. Realizing he might have been spotted, he immediately retreated from the forest edge and entered the woods.

"Agent Yang, heat imaging shows the target has retreated into the forest."

Now Jimmy was sure the person wasn't on his side. He crawled into the forest, seeking cover behind a big tree, then pressed the comm button, "Where is his position now?"

"Approximately fifty to a hundred meters back from his previous position. Without reference, it's hard to estimate the exact distance."

Jimmy: "I'm going after him, stay within range."

"I can see your position. Be cautious, the command center confirms you are the only one in this area."

Jimmy: "Understood. So this person is definitely not one of ours. Silence communications, just track his position and keep me updated."

All it took was a nod; as long as Jimmy got closer, the person wouldn't escape his pursuit. In the forest, dozens of meters was already quite a distance. In this environment, he found it easier than in the city because anyone human-shaped wasn't on his side, making identification unnecessary.

Having an eye in the sky was a blessing. Jimmy immediately moved towards the direction the stranger previously occupied. He quickly reached the spot, and without needing to find tracks, the helicopter guided him forward.

The stranger, noticing the helicopter tracking him, realized the problem and ceased hiding, recklessly sprinting through the forest to evade the helicopter's surveillance.

Heat imaging isn't infallible; places with dense foliage block signals. The stranger knew this well, choosing routes with the densest vegetation, indicating his familiarity with the forest. His running speed matched Jimmy's, despite Jimmy's superior physical fitness compared to the average person. However, unfamiliar with the environment, Jimmy often had to interrupt his running rhythm to dodge tree trunks or other ground obstacles.

After a while, the helicopter suddenly relayed to Jimmy: "We've lost visual; he disappeared two to three hundred meters ahead of you."

Jimmy didn't respond, slowing his pace, alternating between Heart Eye Vision and normal vision. He wasn't sure if the stranger was hiding somewhere; blending with other objects would be indistinguishable in Heart Eye Vision, such as covering himself with something and hiding in a pit. An normal observation was necessary.
