Jimmy observed the surrounding residential buildings. At this time, not many rooms had lights on. Considering they had just arrived, and weren't asleep yet, any movement in those rooms would be even more suspicious.

Jimmy finally locked onto three rooms in two buildings, with at least two active individuals in each, and lights on. One room, with five people moving around, was deemed the most suspicious.

When Ruiz and the others arrived, Jimmy and Ruiz discussed it. They could only choose to wait here, as knocking on doors in the middle of the night to check residential buildings wasn't feasible.

Jimmy pointed to a few lit rooms he selected, explaining his rationale to Ruiz and the two on-duty agents. These rooms became their main surveillance targets, and the four took turns resting in the car afterward.

Unfortunately, their rest time was insufficient. After taking turns resting for a while, Ruiz received another phone call. After hanging up, he approached Jimmy, "Jimmy, there's a problem."

Jimmy looked puzzled, "What?"

Ruiz: "One of the two people you shot is confirmed to be from the Genovese Family."

Jimmy: "Hold on, Genovese, you mean the Mafia Genovese, right?"

Ruiz: "Yes. Although just a small fry, he's indeed a registered gangster. His family status should be rank-and-file, Soldier. The other guy shot in the leg had no criminal record—never caught or genuinely insignificant."

Jimmy: "That's troublesome. Do you think their current hideout could be a Genovese family base or safe house?"

Ruiz: "It's possible. Things could get complicated here."

Jimmy thought while glancing at the residential building, "Could it be that these two have nothing to do with the Genovese family? They're just using their channels to escape New York?"

Ruiz sighed, "Either way, we'll have to confront them this time. I'll notify Emma's team; at least their reasons are more justifiable."

Jimmy: "Bring more people; we have at least three rooms to check. It's best to handle them simultaneously."

Ruiz: "Don't worry, I'll arrange for more to come."

Soon, several cars arrived and parked along the roadside, but most people stayed in their vehicles. Only three got out and approached Ruiz and Jimmy.

Ruiz looked at them, "Emma didn't come?"

The new agents nodded, "The team leader is handling the warehouse and ships at sea, which hasn't concluded yet."

Ruiz nodded, taking out a piece of paper and shining a flashlight on it, "We've roughly identified three targets. You'll handle these two and assign someone to join us for this room. The operation starts at 5 a.m. Understand?"

Though Ruiz wasn't their boss, as head of the organized crime investigation team, he had no problem arranging such plans. The new agents obediently listened and nodded before returning to organize.

Watching Ruiz's arrangements, Jimmy noted that his suggestion was followed. The room with five people was assigned to him, while the other two, each with two people, although suspicious, were less so than his. Ruiz smartly assigned a smuggling investigator to maintain plausible authority.

Nearing 5 a.m., all agents wore Bullet-Proof Vests and quietly approached the apartment building, skillfully unlocking the main door. The building housed two targets, and the agents split into two groups without speaking.

Jimmy and his team approached their target. Watching his watch, when the time came, Jimmy took the lead, kicking the door open—"FBI!"

Having inspected beforehand, Jimmy knew this door lacked a security chain, making it easy to kick open. They entered in single file, with Jimmy heading straight to the bedroom while the agents searched the living room and kitchen, shouting, "Don't move!"

They shouted as they moved, waking two individuals in the living room, who were quickly held at gunpoint by trailing agents. Jimmy reached the bedroom door but was shot at before he could enter.

Jimmy and the following agents pressed against the wall. The apartment walls could block handgun bullets, and—courtesy of Jimmy's prior inspection—offered protection.

Jimmy gestured, seizing a shooting pause to kick the bedroom door open and fire a few shots inside, ceasing only when the return fire stopped after one shot.

The agents behind him proceeded to investigate the bedroom while Jimmy moved to the master bedroom, "FBI. Drop the gun." He announced without seeing the room. Pushing the door open, he saw someone lying on the bed with their hands up.

Following agents who searched the secondary bedroom joined, "Cuff them." Jimmy aimed, and the agent moved forward to cuff those on the bed, switching on the room's lights.

Glancing at the bed's occupants—whites—Jimmy had no interest, returning to check the two on the secondary bedroom bed and the living room pair: all whites, something was off.

Ruiz queried Jimmy, "Find anything?"

Jimmy responded, "No, all whites."

As the chief suspect from the master bedroom was led out, Ruiz questioned, "Where are those two black guys from your boat?"

Faced with this inquiry, the individual hung his head, sullen and silent.

Ruiz ordered, "Take them in, search thoroughly."

Surveying the scene, Jimmy left for the second room, forcibly entered by agents. The occupants—again, not their targets—were captured inside.

"Bang bang," gunshots echoed from the opposite building. Jimmy dashed downstairs while agents above charged down, "What happened?"

"One suspect ran down the rear fire escape into the alley," a voice reported.

Jimmy immediately turned, recalling spotting someone earlier in the back alley. He assumed upper floors meant gunfire persisted inside, deterring pursuit.

Already without movement in Heart Eye's range, Jimmy and the team reached the back alley only to have completely lost the suspect.

"Fxxk!" Jimmy swore, facing the nearest agent, "Who ran? White, black?"

Agent: "Black, two. One's already dead."

Jimmy instructed, "You go handle the captives. I'll give chase."

The escapee—black—remained a strong suspect despite ambiguity over their target, thus Jimmy pursued, tracing potential routes. Upon rounding a street, he found a man bent over, hands on knees, gasping in an alley.

"FBI, drop the gun." Jimmy shouted from the alley entrance, prompting return fire from inside. Only then did Jimmy retaliate, double shooting, felling the figure with chest and head shots.

Approaching the fallen black man, Jimmy kicked away their gun and confirmed the suspect's identity by flashlight, finally relieved. The person shot in the room earlier seemed to meet the targets assumed, making the situation complete.

After considering his locale, Jimmy phoned Ruiz, summoning his team, holstered the gun, and dialed Hughes, "Mission accomplished." He hung up thereafter.

When Ruiz arrived with two agents, Emma's team departed with captives, ensuring agents remained at all three rooms to guard against tampering.

Ruiz, casting his torch on the scene, nodded and directed, "Call an ambulance to collect the corpses."

Jimmy: "I contacted Hughes; the matter's settled."

Ruiz nodded, "Appreciate it." As his subordinates remained absent, he added, "Write the report with care."
