North America Gunman Detective
Chapter 842 - 500: Plans Can’t Keep Up with Change (3)
Fortunately, the infiltration was successful. When Jimmy entered the room on the third floor, no one in the building was alert. It was clear that the surveillance here was being ignored, at least for now. Otherwise, if one monitor screen went black, surely someone would know there was a problem.
Actually, thinking about it, there were indeed people in the security room, but they were lying on the table. Unless something unexpected happened, they were probably just sleeping and spacing out. Initially, Jimmy took a gamble, and now he had won.
Jimmy pulled out his handgun and gently opened the door. A few people were sleeping in other rooms, but they didn't matter to him. His target was the person in the large room at the corner of the wall.
Jimmy held up his gun, slowly moving out of the doorway, aiming at the person standing at the door and fired twice. The first target was the head, and the second shot was an insurance shot to prevent any mishaps. After firing, Jimmy arrived at the corridor and headed for the room inside.
Whether it was the sound of the silenced pistol or the noise of the body falling that alerted the people inside the room, someone standing there turned around and came to the door, reached out to open it, and looked outside. "Ding Ding," Jimmy didn't give him the chance to react and fired two shots to take him down.
Jimmy quickly ran inside. The two people sitting on the sofa saw the person at the door fall and also heard the sound of the gun suppressed by the silencer. One of them immediately got up, drew a handgun, and flipped behind the sofa. The other was slightly slower and screamed, also trying to get behind the sofa.
However, his reaction speed was still a bit slow, as Jimmy had already arrived at the door.
This mission wasn't about personal vendettas, so there was no need for villainous verbosity. Jimmy kept a close watch on their movements. When he entered the room, the person already hiding behind the sofa was not in Jimmy's line of fire, while the other person preparing to hide was now facing away from Jimmy.
He didn't waste this opportunity, shooting twice at the person's back and then immediately lunged onto the floor. The first person behind the sofa had already aimed his gun in the direction of the door and started shooting.
Jimmy's skills were indeed overpowered indoors. The enemies behind cover had no enough line of sight to determine his position and could only aim at his previous location. Meanwhile, Jimmy could see their movements, predict their intentions, and dodge in advance.
The sofa wasn't capable of stopping bullets, so Jimmy, lying on the ground, fired several consecutive shots at the sofa. The person behind it fell backward without any decent resistance.
Jimmy stood up, aimed at them, walked over to confirm the two people were his targets, and then turned to leave.
From the moment Jimmy went to the third floor and shot the bodyguard at the door to resolving the people inside the room, it took only about one minute. It was indeed because Jimmy had a complete grasp of their positions and movements, eliminating the need for others to enter and confirm the targets, which naturally sped up the process.
The sound of gunfire from the gang boss alerted the people in the building. Jimmy could already see disturbances among those in the building, especially those awake on the second floor, while those sleeping in several rooms on the third floor showed little response.
Jimmy ran towards the room he came from, and as he was about to reach the door, a person was already about to reach the third floor via the stairs. Jimmy paused for a moment in the hallway, aimed at the staircase. As the person appeared, he fired directly. That person hadn't even seen the third-floor hallway clearly before being sent to the afterlife. But because his motion of rushing upstairs continued, he slid a short distance along the ground before completely stopping.
Jimmy didn't wait for anyone else, opened the door and entered the room, locked the door again to temporarily block those outside. He exited through the window, climbed down the pipe, jumped off as he was near the ground, and ran into the alley, soon returning to the backdoor of the hotel.
Jimmy climbed up the fire escape stairs to his room, tossed the handgun back into the box, changed into regular clothes, grabbed the box, went downstairs, and checked out of the room. Although it was now afternoon, it wasn't much of a concern. Jimmy just needed to get away from there.
Driving onto the road, things had already become chaotic under the building of the entertainment center. Quite a few people were gathered by the roadside, observing and hoping to find something unusual, but they were just wasting their efforts.
Jimmy drove away, turned at the intersection, away from their chaos, which couldn't possibly identify any suspect. After all, this was Boston, and the roads were filled with cars. They couldn't possibly stop everyone driving.
