North America Gunman Detective
Chapter 874 - 515: The Miserable Miami Office
Jimmy drove a beat-up car to a gas station to refuel, and while there, he bought a Miami map. After seeing the address given by Lee, he regretted it. The distance was too far; it was better to go back.
Three hours later, Jimmy returned to the hotel, went to the bathroom to freshen up, and then headed to Dave's room to knock on the door.
Lucy opened the door and led Jimmy inside. Dave was sitting in front of the computer, browsing something with a sling around his arm.
Dave: "Jimmy, how did it go?"
Jimmy: "Got them back, but there were some unexpected events. The Miami office and I found them at a warehouse, there was a shootout, five people were killed, and only one was captured."
Dave looked at Lucy, who nodded and left the room. Jimmy turned to watch Lucy as she closed the door, knocked on the door opposite, and a bodyguard opened it to accompany her away.
Dave watched Jimmy turn his head to watch Lucy leave, then turned back and said: "Tell me the details."
Jimmy: "The Miami office's surveillance team determined their escape route through traffic monitoring and arranged for people to follow them. They stopped at a warehouse in the city. When Lee and I arrived, Lee and some agents planned an assault on the warehouse.
While we surrounded the warehouse, there was an unexpected incident. A gang group in another warehouse saw the agents surrounding it, assumed they were the target, and began shooting early, causing Lee's assault plan to fail and turning into a forced attack.
I wasn't assigned a task, but as soon as they started attacking the warehouse, agents were shot, so I went in to help. After that, all five gunmen were killed. The person I captured earlier was unable to retaliate with his injured arm, so he was the only one alive at the scene."
Dave closed his eyes to think for a moment, then said: "Did you take all of them down?"
Jimmy nodded, without saying a word.
Dave: "Don't mention this to anyone else; I'll handle it."
Jimmy: "Understood."
Dave: "Since this is settled, let's head back early. I'll notify you about the flight later."
Jimmy: "Mr. Hudson, no need to trouble yourself. I can handle the flight arrangements."
Dave looked at Jimmy, his eyelids fluttering slightly, "I still need to discuss it with Lucy. Wait for my message."
Jimmy: "Okay, I'll head back to my room then. Goodbye, Mr. Hudson."
Dave nodded, and Jimmy turned to leave the room. Across the hallway, a man stood at the doorway, only entering Dave's room when Jimmy approached the elevator.
Jimmy stood in the elevator, watching the man speak briefly to Dave before leaving the room, seemingly the second bodyguard.
Jimmy didn't rest in his room; instead, he wandered around. This trip to Palm Beach was soon to end, and he was heading back to New York. Going back empty-handed would have serious consequences. Primarily, to pacify Nia, who already had some grievances over his unannounced departure.
Jimmy wasn't particularly fond of tourism, and most of his time at Palm Beach was spent watching women by the seaside.
Fortunately, this popular tourist destination had numerous travel guides from various companies, serving as his best guide.
Coconut trees are symbols of Florida, so coconut candies and coconut jams shouldn't be missed. Nia loves sweets. There were also famous local pearl products; Jimmy bought a pair of earrings from a jewelry store for Nia, hoping his efforts would calm her down.
As for other souvenirs, nothing really stood out. Just some T-shirts and handicrafts, which didn't interest Jimmy much.
After dinner, Jimmy returned to the hotel and contacted the car rental company to evaluate the car damage. It took a considerable time to account for the losses; Jimmy paid with a card, signed, and returned the car, finally resolving this troublesome matter, which consumed a lot of time.
Back in his room, Jimmy used his newly bought suitcase to organize his purchases from the past couple of days. He soon received a call from Dave to prepare for going to the airport with Dave and the group the next morning to return to New York.
Alright, it seemed he saved on the airfare, causing Dave some expenses. Dave didn't notify Jimmy of the flight number, indicating that Dave rented a private plane. Whether at his own expense or borrowed through connections, Jimmy didn't need to rent a private plane to fly back to New York, though his plans to curry favor had fallen through.
In fact, Jimmy really wanted to rent a private plane to send Dave and his wife back to New York—it wouldn't cost much, but it could leave a good impression on them. Unfortunately, people who become leaders are never simple.
The next morning, Jimmy prepared all his belongings early, checked out at the lobby, and waited in the lounge for Dave and his wife. The hotel arranged an SUV to take them to Glades Airport. After a simple boarding process, Jimmy and Dave, along with his wife, boarded a small six-seater private plane, ready to take off for New York.
Dave called the flight attendant for a drink, only to be firmly vetoed by Lucy, leaving him with a glass of juice. As for Jimmy, he was out of luck. Normally, with a private jet, he could have enjoyed a drink, but with someone watching, he had to settle for water.
