The call connected, and there was silence on the other end. Jimmy just casually greeted, "Hi, I'm looking for Tom."

Tom recognized Jimmy's voice and replied, "It's me, go ahead."

Jimmy: "Tom, I have some good news to tell you. I proposed to Nia, and she said yes."

Tom: "Oh, congratulations. And then?"

Jimmy: "I've invited James to help discuss the engagement ceremony with Nia's family. I was wondering if you have time to join us? It's been a while since you two last met."

Tom: "James probably isn't back yet."

Jimmy: "Well, I just got in touch with him; he should be back in the country in half a month. I wondered if you could come to New York and join James. It's been a long time since you both met, perfect chance to catch up."

Tom: "Let me think about it. Anything else?"

Jimmy: "There's a bit more, but let's talk about it when we meet."

Tom: "Alright, goodbye."

Few words were spoken; Tom has always been like this in conversations. After hanging up, Jimmy continued to sit on the sofa, pondering over things related to Caitlin.

Caitlin's attitude earlier made it clear. She's been in charge for so long, she hadn't considered whether her decisions might negatively impact her subordinates.

Jimmy is different from other agents. His cover identity surpasses the CIA's; if anyone had to choose, they would definitely pick the FBI, with no hesitation in giving up the CIA identity unless severe consequences were at stake, like being eliminated or stripped of other identities.

Jimmy's attitude earlier was quite clear; Caitlin went too far this time. If this happens, it's just a matter of time before things escalate. Caitlin isn't stupid and will definitely make some preparations.

It's a bit of a hassle. Jimmy is alone and also has a job, making it impossible to track and investigate Caitlin. The only thing he seems able to do is to issue a warning.

After thinking it over, Jimmy took out a CIA box, checked its contents, closed it, and drove to the Anti-Terrorism Bureau. He returned the equipment, directly heading to the office where he previously received it, handed everything over, and left glancing at Caitlin's office on his way out.

Although he didn't see anyone directly, the person sitting behind the desk was definitely Caitlin. Jimmy noted her position before leaving the Anti-Terrorism Bureau to drive away. However, he didn't go far, instead parking in an alley beside the Bureau.

The black Suburban, paired with a suit and sunglasses, basically represented Jimmy's identity. Parking outside the Anti-Terrorism Bureau for an extended time, even the worst personnel inside would notice Jimmy was there.

Most people might not understand Jimmy's intent, but Caitlin would definitely get it. The only uncertainty was whether Caitlin would receive the message in time. After all, it's just a car parked outside for a long time. If subordinates recorded it but didn't report it, or it didn't get passed up to Caitlin, then there was nothing else to be done.

This was out of necessity. Jimmy had work the next day, couldn't split himself, and had no suitable person for tracking and investigation. His only option was to convey his stance through his actions. Being targeted by someone like Jimmy, Caitlin wouldn't have it easy.

He drove away in the evening to head to the NYPD Detective Bureau, just in time to meet Nia for dinner, lazy to change cars, the work-issued vehicle would suffice.

Jimmy's whereabouts were indeed noticed by Caitlin, but not because his car was parked outside the Anti-Terrorism Bureau, but because she had someone investigate Jimmy's movements after he left.

He had initially returned to his Upper West Side apartment, but after some time, subordinates reported that Jimmy's phone was pinging back at the Anti-Terrorism Bureau and parking there for an extended duration.

This was a bit much. Caitlin dismissed them, feeling complicated as she sat in her office.

Jimmy was skilled. Previously, she had arranged for him to handle personal matters in Portland, while also assessing his capabilities.

According to their team's review of the scene, Jimmy handled it brilliantly, using only a handgun without leaving any traces; truly showcasing elite agent abilities, undoubtedly.

In previous missions like the cross-border estate raid, Jimmy exhibited lethal efficiency, ambush skills in Portland, and exceptional confidentiality – a perfect tool for special assignments.

For the recent Langley mission, she received details in advance, considered the personnel and capabilities within the Anti-Terrorism Bureau, and ultimately decided to activate Jimmy as a backup plan. From a mission perspective, there was no issue, and it was very appropriate.

However, she overlooked one thing: Jimmy, capable of undertaking these tasks, was never a person to quietly accept missions. His previous task in New Mexico against the Aztech gang showed he doesn't endure undeserved setbacks.

Jimmy had an understanding with Caitlin before; he'd work for her in exchange for continued dormancy, staying undercover without using the CIA agent identity. Her calling him to Langley for a mission without prior consultation was their biggest rift.

For an incompatible tool, it's either discarded or shelved for another, or grudgingly used despite discomfort. Caitlin had to consider how to choose between these two paths.
