"FBI! Are the gunmen still here?" Jimmy shouted as he got out of the car and drew his Glock.

"Yes, they should still be inside, but we haven't heard gunfire for several minutes now."

Jimmy: "Do we have anyone watching the back and side exits? What about the underground parking lot?"

"We don't have anyone at the back door yet, our people haven't arrived, but there's already a police car at the parking lot exit."

Jimmy looked at Mahong: "Mahong, you keep an eye outside, I'll go in."

Mahong: "No, we'll go in together. You split two guys to the side as long as no one escapes. Has the hospital been evacuated?"

Police: "We've evacuated some, but there are still people inside who haven't come out; there are certainly still many people."

This is a hospital; there must be inpatients here, many of whom cannot evacuate themselves, and Mahong and Jimmy know that in this situation, this is all they can do.

At that moment, sirens approached from behind, and several more police cars arrived.

Mahong: "Okay, your backup is here. Surround the hospital, control traffic, and prevent the gunmen from escaping. Jimmy, let's go."

Jimmy nodded and rushed directly to the front door. He had already confirmed that no one was here and no one was below the third floor. However, there were still quite a few people in rooms upstairs, though most were hiding behind tables or beds, and some lay motionless in bed, indicating they couldn't move.

The confirmed situation is that he saw two gunmen in the stairwell, not sure if they were friendly, and couldn't distinguish who were the gunmen from those mingling upstairs.

Jimmy: "Mahong, find a way to stop elevator usage. We can't rush up just to find they've used the elevator to escape—that would be disastrous."

Mahong: "You'll have to wait. I need to find security; they should have elevator control keys."

Jimmy: "We can't wait. We have five brothers upstairs. Forget it; let's hope the cops outside can handle it. Follow me; let's clear from below and head up."

Mahong didn't refuse Jimmy's leadership. In tense situations like this, unless HRT or SWAT teams are present, listening to Jimmy is always the right call, a conclusion established long ago.

Without leading Mahong directly upstairs, Jimmy instead started checking each room from the first floor, which delayed them a bit.

After entering the third floor via the emergency exit, unfortunately, the door to the stairwell made a sound when opened, alerting the people there. Jimmy saw a person crouching near a room door, looking towards him.

"FBI, is anyone there?" Jimmy did not directly walk out but shouted after opening the emergency exit door.

Mahong whispered: "What are you doing? Alerting the gunmen?"

Jimmy: "This is a hospital, with many doctors, nurses, and patients. I'm going to check outside; you wait here."

Jimmy didn't turn to look at Mahong, instead, he lowered his gun and glanced around, at least acting the part. The person crouching by the door did not appear to have a gun.

Jimmy walked over slowly, "Don't move. Who are you? Is there anyone in the room?"

The person raised both hands at the doorway, "I'm a patient here, and I'm the only one in this room."

Jimmy: "Don't move." He walked over and quickly searched, "The area downstairs is safe. Can you get downstairs?"

Patient: "No, my leg is injured; I can't walk."

Jimmy: "Then stay in the room, keep the door closed, and don't make a sound."

The patient nodded and retreated back, kneeling and then closing the room door. The room indeed had just this person, his foot and calf in a cast, likely not a gunman.

Jimmy gestured to the people behind him and continued forward, checking room after room, reassuring patients. On the third floor, he found several nurses all hidden in patient rooms, and someone hiding in a utility room, discovered by Jimmy and Mahong.

After checking the third floor, Jimmy and Mahong informed the nurses they found that the first and second floors were cleared of gunmen, and there were police outside. If afraid, they could exit via the emergency doors, though the nurses refused.

Hiding might risk being discovered, but going down the stairs could be fatal if running into gunmen.

Their argument was irrefutable, and with just the two of them, Jimmy and Mahong couldn't escort them downstairs. Their priority was finding the gunmen and the five FBI agents.

They reached another emergency exit, with Jimmy again in front, "Stop."

A corpse lay face-down on the stairs, and blood stains could be seen above; this unlucky guy had likely rolled down from above, his head shot, the bullet hole very familiar.

Jimmy: "A corpse, be careful; they should be upstairs."

Mahong patted Jimmy's shoulder lightly, and they moved around the corpse, guns drawn, heading upward.

On the fourth floor, Jimmy turned to Mahong, "This is too slow; you guard the stairs, I'll go up and search from the rooftop down. Just keep watch; don't act impulsively."

Mahong: "No way, we still don't know how many there are. It's too dangerous for you to go alone."

Jimmy: "Don't worry about me. Though it sounds wrong, I'm safer alone."

Jimmy couldn't keep dragging Mahong along at this pace—it was too slow. It was better to handle this alone first.

Jimmy: "That's settled, contact outside for updates, NYPD's ESU should be arriving. Also, contact our SWAT team."

Mahong: "Take care; prioritize your safety."

Jimmy smiled at Mahong without speaking, put away his Glock, then drew the Python revolver, as he climbed the stairs, placing 6 spare bullets in his left hand.

Mahong looked up at Jimmy from below, bit his lip, raised his pistol, lightly pushed open the emergency exit door, glanced around, and quietly moved to the next room.

Jimmy alone meant going all out. Despite the hospital's surveillance, the cameras were chunky, so Jimmy had already checked them while sprinting upstairs.

On the ninth floor, Jimmy saw four bodies along the way, all shot dead. By their attire, one seemed to be a doctor in a lab coat, while the other three appeared to be patients or visitors—they weren't in uniform, nor suits—likely not FBI agents.

On the ninth floor, Jimmy saw many people, most hiding in a large office. "FBI, how are the people inside?"

Jimmy pushed open the door, aiming his gun at them, "Are you hospital staff?"

Everyone nodded, and Jimmy said, "Stay hidden; don't go out."

He searched other rooms on the ninth floor and then moved down to the eighth, where he noticed blood in the hallway, followed it to a patient room, and found four people—two lying on the floor, two hiding in the corner.

"FBI." Opening the door startled two nurses hidden in the corner, one firing a shot at the door.

"FBI, don't shoot." Jimmy paused at the door, then pushed it open and looked at the two dressed in suits on the floor.

Jimmy showed his FBI badge, "Who are they? Whose gun is that?"

The nurse holding the gun was calmer than others, "They're FBI, watching a patient. Two posed as nurses bringing in a stretcher bed and shot them. Oh, they're not dead but need immediate surgery."
