CHAPTER 99: CHAPTER 93: ANNIHILATION OF A CLAN (PARTS 1 AND 2 COMBINED)_2

"Alright!"

But Dean was resolute: regardless of success or failure, he would swim back! He worried that prick had planted a bomb on the jet ski.

He changed into simple diving gear and arranged his equipment.

The two men, each with their own thoughts, boarded the specially modified jet ski and slowly sank two meters below the surface, approaching the distant cliff.

The straight-line distance from here to the cliff was not far, less than six kilometers.

「About half an hour later.」

The two men, carrying sealed packages, appeared on an exposed reef.

"Actually, real assassination is very simple. It’s just that preparing to wipe out an entire family is a lot more troublesome. If this time we fail, I will have to give up on taking revenge myself and then resort to assassinating and threatening members of the Carmen Family to kill those two."

As An Bei spoke, he picked up a nail gun. With the rhythm of the waves, he drove steel nails into the cliffside, creating a makeshift climbing path.

"Are you so sure those two are still alive?" Dean asked. He was now clad in a tactical bulletproof vest, with magazines and concussion grenades within convenient reach.

"Certain!" An Bei chuckled. "If this operation goes smoothly, I’ll tell you a huge secret. Maybe you could even use this opportunity to score a big achievement and get a promotion."

After speaking, he put on his signature mask. Then, with a neurotic air, he looked up at the moon, tilted his head, and flashed a "V" sign.

The next moment.

A chill unexpectedly crept up Dean’s spine, making him subconsciously look up, only to meet a pair of emotionless, cold eyes.

An Bei’s demeanor had completely transformed!

This moment.

He was truly North America’s third-ranked assassin, Joker V!

If An Bei hadn’t been right beside him the whole time, Dean would have almost thought he’d been replaced by someone else.

The current An Bei exerted enormous pressure on him. It was an indescribable sensation, yet it was a suffocating pressure that made even breathing feel sluggish!

Under scrutiny, Dean let his hands hang silently at his sides.

If An Bei made one reckless move, Dean would riddle him with bullets in 0.2 seconds, leaving him here to feed the fish.

The atmosphere between the two grew increasingly tense.

Suddenly.

SMACK.

An Bei’s right hand actually struck his own face, sending the mask flying as he snarled in a low voice, "Don’t you dare cause trouble, or I’ll keep you suppressed for a year!"

Looking at An Bei’s face, one half cold and indifferent, the other contorted in anger, Dean cautiously took a step back.

An Bei actually has split personalities! No wonder he let his brother live alone!

It seemed the threat worked. The cold, indifferent side of An Bei’s face glanced at Dean. He put the Joker mask back on—as if performing a ritual, or flipping a switch, an anchor point—and once again made the "V" sign towards the moon above.

The very next moment.

He leaped, seemingly devoid of pain, his body as agile as an ape. Scrambling and pulling, with a strangely fluid motion, he rapidly neared the clifftop.

Dean shook his head and began to climb as well. He was nimble, too, but his technique was nowhere near as skilled as An Bei in his assassin state.

By the time Dean climbed into the bushes at the clifftop, An Bei had already vanished. The hidden alarm devices in the vicinity had also been physically disabled and concealed.

On one section of the perimeter wall, a few inconspicuous protruding implements had also appeared. These were the climbing aids An Bei had left for him.

Professional!

Dean praised him inwardly and continued climbing the perimeter wall. He then saw An Bei, like a phantom, had already neutralized two patrolling guards in this corridor area.

"The guard rotation here is every five minutes. I’ll make my move within five minutes!"

The assassin An Bei left these cold words behind. With two leaps, he clung to the uneven rock wall like a gecko, continuing his barehanded ascent towards the palace-like structure above.

Five minutes, huh.

Dean quickly took out tripwire and stun grenades and began setting them up in the surrounding area. He couldn’t strike first, or he might alert the Carmen Family members, sending them scrambling into their dedicated safe rooms. Dean’s role was to draw the commotion to himself before An Bei made his move.

「Time passed.」

Just as five minutes elapsed, the display on Dean’s watch lit up red.

This meant An Bei had made his move! Almost simultaneously, because the guards hadn’t entered the password within the five-minute window, the corridor lights turned red.

Leaning against the wall, Dean noticed that, almost at the same instant, several cameras with overlapping fields of view, leaving no blind spots, began to swivel, covering the entire corridor.

Wearing his mask, he walked into the corridor. Looking at the cameras swiveling towards him, he copied An Bei’s earlier neurotic gesture—tilting his head at the lenses—then raised his gun and fired rapidly, destroying all of them!

「Control Room.」

Red lights flashed, and alarms blared as if signaling the onset of a zombie apocalypse from a movie. On the darkened screens, the image froze on a grotesquely smiling Joker mask!

"FK!" A uniformed man, looking like a supervisor, jolted, his coffee cup quivering. He slammed the red button in the control room and yelled into the intercom, "Security team, suspected Joker V intrusion! Guards are down! He’s entered Sector D32!

"Repeat! Security team,..."

In less than ten seconds, Dean’s keen hearing picked up the sound of numerous footsteps approaching from his left and right. Simultaneously, beams from several massive searchlights from the periphery and overhead converged, bathing the entire area in light!

Even more alarmingly, as the alarm sounded, steel barriers slammed down in some passages, instantly segmenting areas and turning them into cages!
