CHAPTER 156: THE DINNER PARTY -2(+18)

The table was filled with laughter and constant chatter as they ate. The women ordered the most expensive items on the menu, their food and wine were all exquisite and their presence was graceful.

Yohan couldn’t deny it, these women were the highest of the high society. Even just being there to listen to their high pitch voices talk about things that didn’t really matter was starting to feel like a privilege to Yohan.

Sometimes they would ask him a question or he would say something to make them laugh, the atmosphere was light and playful it wasn’t like what he imagined at all.

He was slowly starting to learn more about the women. Adele and Diane were recently divorced, both their husbands were rich business men and never real had time for them.

Kate was a little different because she was still married but she hadn’t seen her husband in months.

’In Helen’s case she was the one that was too busy’ he realized the irony.

"So Yohan how do you manage with Helen, she’s always busy because of how hard she works," Adele asked.

"That’s true we’ve been trying to get her out all month and it’s been one excuse after the other," Kate added.

Helen chuckled a bit, "Come on guys, it’s not my fault,"

"I don’t know why you even bother so much with a job like that," Diane said poshly, "I can’t imagine myself doing a job like that,"

"I don’t really mind since I’m also very busy myself," Yohan responded. He always had something to do that he never really mind how busy she was.

"And what do you do?" Kate inquired, tilting her head to the side.

"Well I’m a massage therapist," Yohan replied confidently.

"A massage therapist, that means you massage people?" Diane was also interested now.

"Yes, and he’s very good at it," Helen replied instead,

"Hmmm, maybe he could give us a massage after this," Kate said flirtatiously leaning in.

Yohan couldn’t tell if she is actually hitting on him in front of Helen.

’Wait... what am I thinking, she is just asking for a massage’

"Sure thing, we should fix a date for that," she replied,

"but what was she saying about you needing some money?" Kate voice was no more light and friendly, even her expression had also shifted.

"Kate we should wait until we are done eating," Adele tried calming her down.

"Yes, maybe we should wait before we start discussing matters like that," Helen also supported.

Yohan had since suspected it, that Kate was the main person he needed to convince and now he was sure of it.

She looked like she was still very doubtful of his intentions and was fishing for some kind of fault.

"It wouldn’t make any difference if we wait until we are finished, I’m really eager to hear what he has to say," she said, a small smile tugging at one side of her lips.

"I also think there’s no harm in talking about it right now," Yohan agreed.

"I don’t know if Helen already told you this but I’m not looking for a handout, I actually need that money to invest in a business opportunity,"

"What type of business?" She inquired even more.

"It’s a real estate business. It isn’t out to the public yet but the he city is planning on building a new residential area and are in need of investors.

"I thought you said you were only a massage therapist, how did you manage to know something that isn’t out to the general public?

"To be honest it was simply just chance, I was visiting a friend and just happened to see the project plan. This friend explained all the details of the deal when I told her about my interests,"

"I already have most of the mone–"

"Who’s this friend?" Kate cut in,

This time even Helen looked at him curiously maybe not just for the same reason.

Yohan taught about hiding it but there was no need, in fact he reasoned that revealing her identity might actually give him more credibility and make the women respect him more.

"Her name is Helen Micheal, I’m sure you all have heard of her?" He said casually with a small prideful grin.

"Helen Micheal, as in the owner of this hotel?" Diane was the first one to speak,

"Yes, that right," he nodded.

The table went flat silent as the women exchanged glances, even Helen was starting to have a worried expression on her face.

"Yohan are you serious?" She asked. She didn’t expect him to make such an outrageous claim.

To her it sounded like he was simply just saying something like that to impress her friends, but now he would end up embarrassing the both of them.

"Yes, we are pretty close. She’s a client of mine... well I can’t really even call her a client since she has been trying to book a session with me but I haven’t really had the time to attend to her," he added lightly, his tone unserios and humorous.

His claim was even more outrageous and unbelievable that Helen had to bow her head in shame. To think he would actually do something like this in front of her friends.

Kate scoffed with a smile, thinking that she was just about to reveal his true colors.

"So you mean you know Helen personally?" She asked.

"Yes, pretty much," he answered confidently.

"In that case you wouldn’t mind if she came down here and confirmed it herself, I can easily make that happen you know?" She spoke as if it was a threat, but for Yohan he wasn’t worried in the least bit.

"If she does she might end up making our food free just because of me," he chuckled at his response.

Kate chuckled then went on to even laugh for a bit. She didn’t share in his humor, rather was more amused by his audacity and just how far he was willing to take this.

"Fine," she finally send signalling one of the waiters to come over.

"Excuse me is Mrs. Helen around?"

"Yes ma’am, she’s currently in her office," the staff replied.

"Good, tell her Kate Pierson would like to have a word with her,"

After the staff left, there was tension at the table. The atmosphere was awkward and thick with no one knowing if they should try bringing up a different conversation.

"Kate, you didn’t have to invite her down here," Diane said with a low tone

"why not? Emily happens to be one of my friends, she even sat in front on the day of my wedding. I can’t just let people go around tarnishing her name,"

Helen clenched her fist, she didn’t expect Yohan to put her in such a position. She wanted to scold him for doing something like this but she felt that would be even more embarrassing.

The other ladies also exchanged awkward glances at each other, they couldn’t believe that Yohan was the kind of person that would make claims like this. The thought on their mind was that this meant even the investment plan was probably also a scam

In truth he felt disrespected by her words, he thought of saying something to defend himself but he couldn’t think of anything satisfying enough.

’I guess it would be better this way, her reaction when Emily comes down would be worth it. I can even leverage her initial doubt for me to get the money’ he reasoned as he continued to stare at her blankly.

Soon enough Yohan spotted Emily accompanied by the staff exiting the elevator, her eyes scanned the room looking for Kate as she approached

Soon enough she spotted her and was heading directly for their table but when she got close the first person she noticed at the table was the only man present and that just happened to be.

"Yohan?!" She called out in shock.

All the other women gasped in shock.

"It’s true..." Diane murmured, forgetting to blink for more than a few seconds.

"Yohan what are you doing here?" She took a look at all the ladies present, wondering if she was mistaken.

"You know this person?" Kate couldn’t believe what she was seeing.

"Yes, I do. How do you know him?" Emily asked equally, just as surprised.

She was seeing him in the middle of a table filled with beautiful women from high society, dressed so sharply. It was like a scene out of a Batman movie.

"Th-that doesn’t matter," Kate stared at Yohan as she mumbled.

Yohan got up from his seat, and hugged Emily.

"Hello Emily, it’s really nice to see you,"

He moved his hand to the back of her neck giving it a very gentle rub.

It was exactly what her body had been craving for since the day he used the lingering touch on her. The sensation was so soothing and relaxing that warmth rushed to her cheeks.

She wrapped her arms around his back and held him closely, it looked like they had known each other like old friends or even more than friends.

Seeing that they were that close Kate started to realize that she was really wrong all this while. She shifted her posture then looked away embarrassed
