CHAPTER 160: THE ABDUCTION -3
Yohan observed the warehouse carefully. "Do you think they’ll have any guns in there?" he asked.
Gunjoo wondered where that sort of question was coming from before giving it a thought.
"Guns are heavily regulated in this city, so most of us try to do business without it. Plus, they wouldn’t even bother with something like that with the amount of guys in there,"
"But don’t worry, I’ve called for backup and the rest of my men will be here soon. We can challenge them with numbers..." he added, but Yohan paid him very little mind.
"There’s no need to wait, I’m going in now," he finally said, taking a quick look around as if searching for something.
"Going in? You can’t be serious," the loan shark let out a small laugh.
Yohan finally found what he was searching for. He snatched a metal bat from one of Gunjoo’s men.
Gunjoo was starting to see that he was actually serious as he began walking towards the entrance.
He swung the bat through the air a couple of times, flexing his shoulder as he did.
’This would do,’ he commented on the weight of the metal bat. It was just the right fit to cause damage.
"Hey kid, you are joking, right?!" Gunjoo chased after him, walking hurriedly.
"That place might look small, but you’ll never expect the amount of guys in there, and those are not the nice gangsters like me. These are guys that have killed just for fun," Gunjoo explained, frantically trying to get Yohan to stop, but his efforts didn’t even make him reconsider.
"In that case, today would be an unlucky day for them," he said casually.
By now, both of them were just a few feet away from the front gate. In the process of trying to stop him, Gunjoo ended up accompanying him.
"Listen! Kid...!" He whispered urgently, "Don’t go any further...!"
But it was too late; one of the guys at the gate had already spotted them.
"Hey, what the hell are you both doing here?" he asked, stepping forward. Seeing that Yohan was with a bat, he could immediately tell that a fight was coming and pulled out the knife under his jacket.
The light from the sun hit the gleaming steel of the blade as the man approached.
’Shit!...’ Gunjoo cursed, as he wondered ’Just what is this kid thinking?’
’He pulled me into this stupid mess and now I have to save his ass... that would be a declaration of war against Roman and his guys’ he clenched his teeth, then unbuttoned his shirt before folding the sleeves up.
But as he prepared to jump into action, Yohan charged first. It was quick and brief, a single swing of the bat landing right on the chin of his opponent.
The guy’s head followed the bat as he dropped to the floor.
’Hmm, I have to control my strength if I don’t want to kill somebody,’ Yohan considered as he realized just how much power the bat carried.
Gunjoo paused, too stunned to move another inch.
The other three guys that stood back and watched the whole thing happen all picked up an item and charged at Yohan.
Stick, blade, and an iron pipe all came swinging at him at the same time. The three men cursed as they attacked with their veins popping out.
Yohan skillfully dodged their slow movements and responded with a timely strike, knocking all three of them out in an instance.
"W-what the hell...?" Gunjoo mumbled as if his eyes were trying to deceive him.
He never expected a kid like Yohan to take down these guys so easily.
"Don’t slow me down if you’re coming along," Yohan said sternly to him before he continued moving.
Gunjoo was still processing everything, but he allowed his body to move after Yohan.
The big door of the warehouse had a figure looming, the shadow stretching on the floor due to the light from the sun outside.
Inside, there were men of different ages and sizes moving packed boxes from one corner to the other.
"Who the hell is this guy?" One of them finally called out, alerting every other thug present.
Yohan didn’t move instantly, taking a moment to scan the whole area.
"You weren’t joking when you said they were many," he said casually, as his eyes pressed down, moving from one corner to the other and his grip tightened around the bat.
Gunjoo was standing right behind, seeing the same sight. He was a gangster that had been in the game for years. He had fought countless people and even killed a few.
He had skill and experience to come out of almost any dangerous situation alive, but even someone of his level felt his heart beat faster at the sight.
He could see heads spreading all the way to the back of the warehouse.
"Hey, let’s run away right now..." he grabbed Yohan’s hand, as beads of sweat rolled down his face.
"Why? Remi is still inside..." Yohan shifted his gaze back to the thugs as he began walking forward.
Gunjoo gritted his teeth; he didn’t know what else to do.
"Are you mad?!" He asked. "Or are you trying to get yourself killed?"
The men inside continued to exchange confused glances, as Yohan and Gunjoo argued in front of them.
"Who was stationed at the gate?" the first guy asked, but there was no answer.
"Someone, take care of that fucker and get me the guys that allowed him in here."
Three of them approached Yohan, each wielding a dangerous item.
In under a second, they were knocked out by the bat in his grip, with blood now dripping from the dented metal sides.
Seeing their guys drop down like flies, the tension in the place increased, and all the men present were on high alert, carefully watching this unknown intruder.
"Get your boss out here!" Yohan demanded without any fear.
"And who is it that wants to see me?" a deep, bold voice came from the back as a man with a red mohawk appeared.
Roman must have heard all the noise and stepped out. He wasn’t too muscular, but his body looked thick and well-defined, with a height just a little bit taller than Yohan.
He was accompanied by three guys all dressed like him, wearing black jackets, with gold chains and tattoos all over their body.
"Huh?" Roman noticed the guy standing beside Yohan. "Aren’t you that loan shark?"
"What are you doing in my place of business?"
By now, Gunjoo had already accepted his fate; there was only one way out of such a situation.
He reached into the back of his coat and pulled out a clean cleaver knife that looked like it was meant to separate bone from bone.
His grip tightened around the handle, making the veins on his arm pop.
"We are here for the girl," he said.
"What girl?" Roman asked almost immediately, but his smirk said he knew exactly who Gunjoo was speaking of.
"Is that Yohan?" His brow raised as he shifted his gaze.
"Listen, kid, why don’t you just give Mr. Hatoru what he wants and nothing will happen to your friend. I’ll even forget everything that happened here"
Yohan held eye contact with the guy for more than a few seconds before speaking.
"That means she’s still in this building, right?" He asked, stepping forward.
"Maybe, but you shoul–" Roman said right before Yohan interrupted.
"That’s all I need to know. I can find her myself," He wasn’t interested in anything else the thug had to say.
Roman chuckled at what Yohan was implying. "You think you can come in here and leave in one piece?"
"Shut the fuck up and let’s get this shit over with," Yohan approached him with anger in his eyes.
"It’s been a while since someone cursed at me," A sinister grin cut across Roman’s face.
"Boys, break that fucker’s legs and bring him to me," he ordered with a grin.
That single order sent the whole place into an uproar. The men charged at Yohan and Gunjoo as if their lives depended on it.
Yohan wasn’t even bothered in the slightest bit. It didn’t matter what type of weapon they tried attacking him with, he would easily parry and counter with a swing.
He was even more focused on controlling his strength so that he wouldn’t accidentally kill someone. Each person that came at him dropped to the floor after only one hit.
He glanced at his companion, Gunjoo, with his butcher knife.
He wielded it without any mercy, sending blood and limbs flying all over the place.
’Fuck... so this is what he looks like...’
Yohan had gotten so used to seeing his calmer side that he had almost forgotten that Gunjoo was also a gangster, one that was able to rise to the top and even have a gang of his own.
It would have been weird if he didn’t have the skills to back it up.
Unlike Yohan that was simply just relying on his superior strength and speed, his moves reflected his skill and experience.
He cut them down without even batting an eye, it was total carnage.
Yohan ducked, perfectly dodging an attack from one of his opponents. From the corner of his eyes he watched as Roman returned inside the room at the back.
’That must be where they are keeping Remi’ he deducted.
