CHAPTER 38: MENTAL WELL-BEING

Yohan sat at his table reading the wellness technique guide. It had naturally turned into his favorite pass time before bed every night. He had no information about the origin of the book that mysteriously appeared in his room, but its content was priceless.

It gave him a brand new body through a simple herbal mixture, then taught him to massage like a true master and even taught him a great deal about pleasing women.

But that wasn’t all it was good for, it didn’t only talk about the physical well-being of the human body but also spoke a great deal about the mental well-being of the mind.

So Yohan was slowly coming to understand the inner workings of the human mind. Reading about things like this was far more interesting than he anticipated.

The first thing to know is that the mind and the body work hand in hand. They are considered the software and hardware of a human, one can’t exist without the other at the same time they are two very different structures.

The body was a physical structure, so it could easily be studied by opening it up or simply through experiments and observations. It could be understood scientifically, but the mind was far more complex than that.

We are all humans, but we all live very different lives and have very different thoughts. Even though we basically do the same thing, we all experience it very differently.

Yet that doesn’t make us much different from one another.

To understand a person the first step is to identify their personalities along with their hidden desires. After you discover what they wake up to be everyday, it’s not too difficult to learn about their inner desires if you are willing to take that bold move.

Sometimes a person’s hidden desire might be so tame that it hardly deserves to be called a secret desire, but for most people their hidden desires are normally wild, so wild that they believe it could only exist as a fantasy.

Some people try to deny it, while others accept it and are fine with it being just a fantasy, but what Yohan wants is to bring his fantasies to reality.

’and I can help a few women accept their own true nature along the way’

Just then there was a light knock on his room door, before his aunt poked her head inside.

"Yohan, your food is on the dining table if you still hungry,"

"Okay, thanks"

She stood there for a few seconds before entering inside the room,

"Are you busy?".

"I was reading, what’s up, did you need anything?"

"No, I was just checking to make sure you are okay,"

"I already told you, I’m fine. You don’t have to worry so much about me," he gave her a reassuring smile.

"Okay... about what your uncle said earlier, I don’t want you to burden yourself. We are both working so we earn enough to sustain the house, there’s no need–"

"Aunt Vivian, please just let me do this," he got up and approached her, "I honestly don’t mind, also I don’t want you to see me as a burden, I want to start helping out around the house,"

"At least, this way you could use some of the money you earn to buy nice things for yourself,"

Although her husband was financially reckless, Vivian wasn’t the same. While Yohan stayed with them, she always dressed modestly, hardly wearing makeup or even buying expensive clothes, yet she always looked so splendid.

She understood the situation of things, and that was why she started working in the first place. There were times when her husband would get into trouble and she would have to sell her expensive jewelry just to save the family.

He placed his hand on her shoulders, "You already do a lot in this house, cleaning and taking care of everyone all while managing to go to work almost everyday,"

Seeing Yohan up close like this, with on one else around made Vivian recall all the things that had happened between them these past few days. She couldn’t even looking him in the eyes for long, looking away as she blushed slightly.

"W-well, it’s my duty to take of everything,"

"I know, and you do it well but you don’t get the appreciation you deserve. My uncle truly doesn’t understand how lucky he is to have a beautiful, and hardworking woman like you,"

Vivian’s eyes lit up, it had been so long since she received such a compliment. It wasn’t much but it felt really nice to be reminded that all her sacrifices weren’t going in vain, that all her efforts weren’t going unnoticed. It was understandable considering the kind of person she was married to.

"Thank you," she said with a soft smile.

"You’re welcome, I’ve been meaning to tell you that I’m sorry about everything I did these past few days. I honestly don’t know what came over me. I know it would be difficult but I wish things could go back to normal between us..."

"I don’t think I’ve said this before but to be honest, you are the closest thing I have to a mother right now, and I really don’t want my immature actions to destroy that,"

"Yohan..." she said, looking at him with an expression that said she was eating up everything he said, to the extent that she was almost moved to tears.

"Nothing has changed between us, I know you are not that kind of person," her tone was filled with empathy

"hmm?!" His brows raised slightly, "I mean yes... of course, I’m not that kind of person"

’She believed me just like that? Maybe it’s because she still wants to believe that I’m still her innocent Yohan. Well this is good news for me, I was thinking it would take a while to convince her but this might end up being easier than I expected’

"Also I know it wouldn’t take back everything I did but I would love if you could come down to the shop, after I fixed it back up,"

"Hmmm, why?"

"To get a massage, it would be free of charge of course, just to show you how sorry I am,"

"H-huh, I don’t think that is necessary,"

"Come on, I think it’ll be perfect. you deserve a little relief with how hard you’ve been working,"

"Its tempting... but, the truth is I’m always busy, it would be far too difficult to make time,"

"Oh I get it, you are scared that I’ll do something right?"

"No, no that’s not it,"

"In that case just come to shop on Monday after work. We’ve even added some brand new services that you are sure to enjoy, just trust me,"

She considered it for a bit, "okay... I’ll try,"

"Great, thank you," Yohan wrapped his hands around her, giving her a warm hug.

It was sudden for Vivian but seeing that it was just an innocent gesture she didn’t react, it was only after she left the room that she asked herself,

’Could everything really go back to normal?’
