CHAPTER 57: SHOPPING AT THE MALL -3

"Okay guys today my friend here has challenged Freddie Micheal to a spending match, who can spend the highest on this pretty girl right here," Jasper said excitedly as he shifted his phone to show Yohan. His annoying voice was as loud as usual.

Yohan caught a quick glimpse of the messages from the people watching the Livestream, and as expected most of them were laughing at him for even challenging the great Freddie Micheal.

But there were a few of them, probably girls, that were just talking about how good he looked but he didn’t really care about all that, what mattered to him was that Freddie and Jasper cared about things like this.

"How many people are watching this?" He asked.

"It’s at three hundred, but it has been climbing steadily since you challenged Freddie. Don’t tell me you are thinking of chickening out?"

With a smirk curling on his lips, Jasper asked, "Are you scared the entire Internet will watch you humiliate yourself?"

Yohan just chuckled, "three hundred people is hardly the entire Internet,"

Jasper gritted his teeth in annoyance, but since he was on camera he didn’t want to react

"Since when did you get such a smart mouth?" he asked, brushing it off with a light tone.

"Well I hope you still have that mouth on you after this,"

"Freddie, do you have anything to say before we begin?" He moved the camera over to him.

"Hey guys, hope you all enjoy the video and I really just want to use this opportunity to buy this pretty girl some nice things, because pretty girls deserve pretty things," he smiled and winked at Mia.

"Calm down now," Jasper cut in, "you don’t want to make all your fan girls at home jealous, not to mention you have a girlfriend," he laughed.

Mia pulled Yohan to the side, "Yohan are you sure about this? You know you don’t have to prove anything to me right?"

She was worried that Yohan was just saying all these things to impress her.

Unknown to her this was just Yohan’s little way of enjoying his new found wealth, and what better way to use it than to use it to remind these stuck up bastards that they were not at the top of the food chain.

"Don’t worry it’s fine Mia, just play along," he reassured her.

It really was fine, because Yohan could already roughly figure out Freddie’s spending limit due to the time he had spent hanging out with them back in high school.

He knew Freddie’s grandfather was a very disciplined man who although was a millionaire like himself, didn’t spend money uselessly. He even disliked Freddie for that very reason. He always believed that Freddie was a lazy spoiled brat.

The only reason he managed to live a lavish lifestyle and spend all day at the mall looking for girls was probably because of his mother. Back then she used to give him a monthly allowance of twenty thousand dollars, and he would spend it all on drinks and girls.

’It has probably increased by a few thousand, but I doubt it’s too far from a hundred’

"So Yohan, what are the rules of the game?" Freddie asked

"There are no rules, just buy what you can afford,"

"Okay then, but are you really sure about this? It’s not too late to back out now?" He was expecting some trick or for Yohan to back out at the last minute but his confidence was unshaken.

Now he was curious to know exactly how much Yohan had in his account for him to be this confident.

"I guess I should go first and pay for the cloth Mia has already chosen," Yohan stepped up and pulled out his card.

Even as the sales attendant brought the payment machine, she was half expecting the card to decline but to everyone’s surprise the three thousand dollars went through.

"It went through?!" Jasper didn’t know when the words left his mouth. For some reason he also didn’t expect Yohan to be able to pay

Freddie was not as surprised, he expected Yohan to at least have something if he was willing to go this far. If anything this only just showed him how serious Yohan was.

But now he felt insulted. To think Yohan would truly believe he has more money than him, that was something he couldn’t just look past.

"I heard from Cassie that you now manage your parents massage parlor, business must be very good this season,"

He knew all about Yohan’s background, his parents weren’t rich people, there was no way they would have left him that much money.

Still he wasn’t in the slightest bit worried, he figured this would end if he just spent a few thousand.

"Okay I guess it’s my turn," he turned to the sales attendant, "where are your designers?"

She showed him a special mannequins inside a glass case

"I think this one would look perfect on Mia," he chose one cocktail dress, with a red high-quality fabric. It was the kind that movie stars and models wore.

"How much is it?"

"That gown is eight-thousand dollars sir," she replied.

"Okay Mia what do you think, isn’t it beautiful?"

"It is, b-but you can’t possibly expect me to actually collect such an expensive gift from a stranger?"

He grabbed her hand and gave it a kiss, "This is a gift coming from my heart, I’ll be so heartbroken if you reject it,"

’What kind of cringe scene is this, does this guy think he’s some kind of prince in a romance drama?’ Yohan sighed.

"Did you all just see that! Freddie Micheal just spent eight thousand dollars on a girl he just met today, let’s ask the lucky girl how she feels," Jasper was as energetic as ever hyping up his guy.

"So Mia what do you think about Freddie, he’s a great guy right. He just spent all that money getting you this dress,"

Mia was overwhelmed and nervous to suddenly be put in the spotlight, "I-I don’t know... I mean thank you very much," she bowed respectfully.

"What are you doing?" Yohan asked.

"Are you blind, didn’t you see that Freddie just spent more than double what you did?"

"And so? the game isn’t over yet," Yohan smirked

"We are only just getting started," he added.
