Occult: World of Yandere
Volume 1 – Inheritance
"Wait...wait wait..wait... WAITTT!... Are you serious?!"
Nier asked Kayland, holding the keys to his Sian in his hand. He was, for the most part, surprised by the gesture.
Just last night, he had crashed his SUV, now he was getting a major upgrade.
Kayland saw his excitement, joy, a rare emotion he hardly ever witnessed in his bro Nier. At the same time, he really wanted to help him out here.
But it didn't end there.
Kayland pulled out his phone, and a ringing notification hit Nier's ears.
Nier slipped the phone from his pocket, putting the keys back inside. His eyes widened slightly in surprise as he look at his screen.
And shortly after look up at Kayland, as he proceeded to say.
"Okay, buddy, what's the catch here? I know you're a generous asshole to your friends, but isn't this a little too generous?"
There was genuine suspicion in Nier's eyes, and who could blame him? After all, getting all these things in such a short span for doing nothing was insane.
Kayland, however, just shrugged as he spoke.
"Well, the box...I had to inform my people manually to retrieve it, any topic about it can't be spoken over the phone. Whatever is inside, your mother made it crystal clear it could only be handled manually until it landed in your hands. Now it is out of mine's, and it is your problem. Naturally, I also brought you here because I wanted to gift you this car. I've always said you needed better wheels man...such a big-ass house, property, and a poor excuse for a car is a damn shame. I swear, I was about to lose it, you have no idea how bad I wanted you to upgrade."
"But that aside...you've worked for my mom's company for eleven years. That right there is your pension. Of course, it is a one-time payout from me with a little bit extra than someone in your position would get after retirement, but unlike them that is one payout that you would get over the course of the next fifty years, and you would normally only be eligible if you had worked for twenty-five years with us. But since you're my best friend, just see it as me having your back."
"Besides, joining the supernatural world requires money and connections. You've got the latter with me as your bro, but not the former. I hope what I've given you helps solve that problem. And never, ever say I am a bad friend, bro. You scratch my back, naturally I'll scratch yours."
Kayland had said it bluntly, leaving Nier taken aback.
Still, as he logged into his bank account, he saw the familiar digital balance...the $36,722 he had saved up.
However, a new number had appeared.
What surprised Nier wasn't just the size of it per say, it was the fact that the number had a faint black aura around it, a telltale sign of dirty money earned through illegal means. If he could see negativity radiating off of it.
He sat there, pondering what he should do with it.
Sure, he needed funds to create a cult. But a cult, in and of itself, wasn't something you could openly flaunt, at least not until it grew into a full-fledged religion that had spread locally or even globally.
Nier's eyes stayed fixed on his bank account.
At present, it showed $30,673,892. It was clear that Kayland had dumped whatever fortune he had straight into Nier's account.
Meaning the fucker had more or this was prob one of his Smurf accounts.
Most likely the latter, the Garbutt family was after all, one of the richest families in the Federal Association.
Ranked 4th among the eight great families.
Words cannot describe how rich they are.
Strangely, this action alone confirms it, there was no bank statement when Kayland send this, normally he was get an instant email, or notification from the bank stating where it came from.
But as far as the app knows, it just money that spawned into his account.
It was obvious now...Kayland or rather the Garbutt family held serious pull within the confines of the Federal Bank. If Nier hadn't seen him send the cash in person, he never would have known where it came from.
Doing the math, this asshole had just wired him $30,637,170. If he couldn't start a cult, or at least begin the process with that kind of money, then he probably never would.
Still, it was a great gift, so much so that Nier looked at Kayland and said.
"Thank you, I… I really don't know what to say."
"Don’t say anything, dude. Unlike you, I cherish our friendship more than some paper. Still, I don't want you walking into this dark world unprepared. Thirty mil might seem like a lot, but I know many low-rank occultists who make that as pocket change. Your kind… you're all special, from weak to strong, all of you are monster in your own right. Using weird powers the way you all do, changing your form's to become as large as small building, punching so hard to can collapse an entire building with the shockwaves and force alone, I have even seen Hestas with power so destructive they destroy an entire mountain with one attack. You occultist all live in a world completely different from us powerless folks."
"My pops especially is balls-deep in it, so I would know. And even though I wasn't born as gifted as my sister, and two younger cousins. I know enough to understand that the occultist world is a scary place. Fluxes already plague our lands, and there are many mysteries out there, some so dark and unknown you start to wonder why, and how, our world even still exists if such horrors lurk just beyond the veil."
"Use that money wisely, bro. Besides, I know for a fact that whatever is in that box your psycho mom left you is probably worth way more than anything I could ever give you. That woman despite her uncanny normality was probably even deeper in this world than my own family."
Nier remained silent for the most of it, but he nod in agreement.
After talking to Kayland a little bit longer. This text is hosted at noᴠelfire.net
He turned to him and said.
"I will be seeing soon around then bro, I still got alot of things to do today."
Nier commented.
Kayland of course just laugh as he lit a cigarette.
"Of course, I might even stop by later or maybe sometime during the week to check on you."
"Yeah just call me before you do though."
"Mhm, I don't want Lisa to shoot me in the head for trespassing now would I."
"Valid reason indeed, either way I am gone."
With that, Nier started up the Sian. The car LED's lit up, as the windows where completely dark and tint.
Bella looked at him with sorry eyes, it was clear she wanted to get more closer to him. But Nier had his priorities elsewhere. For the time being his curse can go and fucked itslef.
With that, Nier started up the Sian. The car's LEDs flared to life, the windows pitch-black with heavy tint.
Bella looked at him with sorry eyes, it was clear she wanted to get closer to him. But Nier's priorities were elsewhere. For the time being, his curse could go and fuck itself.
He pulled out onto the main road, crossing through various sectors on the way back to his own corner of the city, where his house stood.
The drive should have been thirty minutes, forty-five in his case, since he had to stop for gas. Either way, he eventually rolled back into his neighborhood. As his new ride came down the street, the residents outside turned to stare, swarming the sidewalks to watch the expensive car pull up to the largest property in the area...the Augustus Estate.
Driving up his personal driveway toward the gate and dirt road leading to the main entrance, something caught his attention.
Three kids were climbing over his walls, bolting toward the main road. Before they could escape, Nier swerved and stopped right in front of them.
"What the fuck?!"
He barked, stepping out of the car.
One of the three kids froze.
"Oh, shit."
The boy muttered.
Nier narrowed his eyes.
"…Daniel...Is that you again? Didn't I tell you to stay the fuck away from my property?"
